Roleplayer's Handbook
Part A: Character Request
1.) Character name: Amarion Alvare
2.) Character gender: Male
3.) Character race: Human
4.) Is your character a telepath: No
5.) Select a fleet entry level rank: Ensign, crewman.
5.) What is your character's Division: Tactical Division
7 & 8.) What is your basic character concept & history: This character concept is that of the younger brother, trying to prove himself to his family and, specifically, his older brother (my alt character). While Amarion’s brother always excelled through the Academy, it was a real struggle for Amarion to get through the course work; his mind always among the stars…wanted to discover new worlds, new planets, just new experiences in general. However, he managed to push through the coursework in the academy, and managed to land an assignment on an Intrepid class vessel, hosting an experimental lab dedicated to testing new techniques in shielding and assault. With the ship being understaffed due to the Klingon war, however, there were many opportunities for cross training on the vessel. Shortly, Amarion was called upon to learn the tactical systems of the ship; ordinance, attack patterns, even weapon and attack strategy at a higher level. He excelled with the program and his field training, warranting him a promotion to Ensign and reassignment from research to tactical. The research labs however, while proving effective, were thought to be better served being deployed on a space station. The modified Intrepid vessel was retired, and the newly promoted Ensign awaited his next assignment.
As far as this characters concept, he’s definitely more academic focused that hasn’t really seen a whole lot of live combat. Most of his experience comes from holodeck training programs, with two instances of live combat experience during his first tour. He believes everything can be answered through the correct application of science, technology, and a quick wit. He doesn’t talk about his family, although his brother (my other federation character) attempts to correspond with him from time to time. Socially, he’s the quiet and reserved type, but I have hopes that, through RP, more of his leadership skills can be developed.
Essentially, he’s a blank slate with a few different ideas going for him, ideas I hope to see progress with on one of your starships! (I merged 7 and 8 together to avoid being redundant in my description, sorry).
