How do you know? ENT was the last series from a production perspective. The events in ENT are not referenced at all in TOS and later series. In fact, the NX class Enterprise is never mentioned in any listing of ships named "Enterprise." I think there is circumstantial evidence that ENT never happened as far as TOS is concerned. In TOS: "The Naked Time", Spock seems surprised that they can travel back in time. If the TCW happened, certainly Starfleet would already be aware of this. Also, if they knew that time travel was possible, they probably would have developed a temporal prime directive... Which they didn't until much later. As I said, for most of the galaxy (i.e. everyone outside the NX-01 crew), nothing unusual had happened once the timeline was restored. Think back to Yesterday's Enterprise, when the Enterprise-C appeared in the future. That timeline was significantly altered, but as soon as the C went back to its own time, everything was reverted back without any noticeable changes (aside from a later encounter with Sela, of course). From an in-universe perspective, the TCW never occurred, because Daniels and Enterprise were successful in restoring the timeline. Obviously we as the viewers know what really happened, just as in Yesterday's Enterprise and other time travel episodes and movies. As for subsequent references, STO itself references it in the recent temporal episodes. The player's first notification of it is when Daniels appears to warn you of things that are (will be) happening (or happened). The Department of Temporal Investigations may or may not be aware of it, but the general public (including the majority of our characters) is not aware of it until specifically told about it. Some events, like the initial Xindi attack or Terra Prime's terrorist attacks, may have happened anyway. However, most of those events are either classified or lost to the past. TOS takes place a hundred years after Enterprise, and TNG/Voy/DS9 take place 200 years afterward. Just because it wasn't mentioned doesn't mean it didn't happen. I rarely (if ever) hear people talking about big events of 200 years ago, unless I'm in an actual history class, and even then it's usually just a title, a date, and a brief summary. Oh, and Spock was surprised because the Vulcan Science Directorate has determined that time travel is impossible. They basically had to beat T'pol over the head with it before she actually believed them, and if she was that stubborn as it was happening, imagine how stubborn the rest of the Vulcans would be.

xD well its a rumor thread. So...thats what i heard deal with it. I suspect your rumor is more probable than mine www.digitaltrends.com/movies/star-trek-tv-series-info/"Early rumors suggested that the series will be an anthology project of some sort, akin to American Horror Story or Fargo, with each season set in a different point in the Star Trek timeline and featuring different characters and cast members. "birthmoviesdeath.com/2016/04/13/the-new-star-trek-tv-show-will-be-set-before-the-next-generation"UPDATE! A trusted source has chimed in and told me that it looks like the show will be a seasonal anthology, which means the first season will be set post-Undiscovered Country. After that the entire Star Trek universe is potentially open. So those of you hoping for a post-Dominion War show... don't give up hope. That could come some day."
Edit: I should add that this is what i mean with no valid sources. "Some guy at the internet says that another guy told him that..." and the first link has this info from the second link. So ... no valid sources, but its a rumor. Like a guy in Sandals has made water to wine. Or the gun lobby says clinton will take away all guns. 'Rumors'

Honestly, I kind of want another show that's an anthology, where I don't get left with cliffhangers all the time and where each week I get to explore something new where people are examining possible technology, the application of ethics on an interstellar scale, and working through analogues to our own problems in some other world.
If there is an episode of ToS or TNG on, I can definitely stop to watch it with no new context required. Some of the DS9 continued plot stuff doesn't work as well for that. This entire show currently sounds like it will be nothing except that. If you have a season of a show that's in isolation and dealing with one story, you're potentially going to get a lot of depth into a small number of ideas, and then the next season you essentially start from scratch. I won't be given the opportunity to grow attached in the same way I fell in love with the casts of the old shows.
Maybe it's going to result in something new that completely changes how I feel about it once I see it. Maybe it will set a new paradigm that I fall in love with, but too much of it sounds like what I didn't want. I don't want to go back to the beginning, I want to move forward. And I'm terrified that it's just going to be a season long "We gotta be at war" plot or just another "corrupt Admiral we have to stop" gimmick.

I could deal with an anthology setup. ESPECIALLY if it's about the Lost Era. I've always loved stuff from that timeperiod. It's an interesting time.

I'm sure once it releases and they see abysmal viewership on their "paid-access" channel, they'll move it into continental Netflix.

Okay, I am now super excited about this.. even though I wish they would move -forward- instead of continually going backward. Did they learn nothing from Enterprise?? Isn't moving forward toward the future the point of Star Trek?? Anyway.. I am excited because Anthony Rapp is now slated to be one of the characters! most wont know him but I was always a huge fan of Rent (Broadway and movie versions) which he starred in. Even made a guest appearance on one of my fave tv shows Psych during their musical special (Among other things.) So needless to say.. this theater geek is squeeing. :3) www.google.com/amp/www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/first-star-trek-discovery-cast-members-revealed/?client=safari
