Astrometrics was filled with the sound of humming as Val went about processing the information collected from the ill fated archaeological expedition. It was bad that everyone died, but at least the crew had been able to pull one survivor from the planet. Despite this, the information was most interesting.
"So correlating all the information," Val said, to the plush pony sitting on her console, "we can safely say we have something related to the Avynei. One of their crystals, though unrefined, able to contain mental and emotional energies. In this case, it contained a presence named Klara. Who seem to be the guardian of this world." Val thinks for a moment and nods her head. "She was eager to leave the world, which I can't blame here. She must be bored to tears having no one else to talk with. Though i wonder how she is maintaining herself outside the crystal. I believe K'rika had something to do with that. Make a note to look further into that.
"Hm, I wonder if K'rika is of any relation to the Avynei or this is just based on her unique telepathic abilities. Okay, so the crystal structure is more than two miles, plus. It was set into a mountain and used as a antenna. I'm sure with enough power that it could project further than the planet itself. Oh, lets not forget that the crystal is reminiscent of the globes found on the world of Aret. "
Val paces around the room as she thinks once again. "So that leaves us investigating the structure below. I'd like to do that but that leaves us to inhabitants on world; the Harvestors. Purportedly bio-engineered to do something. I guess they were suppose to be benign at one point but something went horrifically wrong. Now they just kill everything the come into contact with.
"Hrm, which leads to several incidents. Therese seem to already know about the creatures as she warned the Captain about them. Yet, so far has refused to name the why's and how's she knew. Stating Starfleet regulations. That seem to be a dodge, who or what is she protecting?"
Val hrms and goes back to pacing again.
(ooc: Open to all of scientific investigation on the world they are orbiting)

Meanwhile, Xylvaren lays in her bed inside her quarters, hugging some plushies while she awaits Sery to complete her current action and begin presenting what is going on on planet 3. after a deep sight from going trough the recent not to fun memory of her first and short moment as a bridge officer on the sentinel she addresses Sery
"How is it going Sery?"

Sery answered in a chipper voice.
"Two things...one it is definitely a temporal anomaly over Yarana III now...recently created, most likely from our actions on Yanara IV setting off something someone had previously set into motion. SOooooo by saving the crewman and this being Klara...some just might have anticipated this and had a literal time bomb set up like a tripwire..."
"Someone is definitely messing around with little pieces of time out here for some reason..."
She paused and then continued. "and two...regulations smegulations, you need to be open and direct with the skipper." She sighed. "She is tough but really fair and nice..and sooo doesn't like sneaky pete stuff."
"Trust is soooo a big deal with her so the ship can function like a family, which is why you go sent to your room."

"Please specify and list what it is that is changing and how it is changing, try to find the root moment of the timeline shift along with the spreading vectors, I think by using the sensor logs we can pinpoint it very accurately, I hope... Who is Klara?"
She lets out a deep sighs and sits up
"Sery", most regulations in Starfleet is... really stupid, Some are... vague, others are situational. The temporal prime directive is not one of them, it exists for a really really important reason, even if it is... annoying. but it should be renamed to something like... code 5, or anything without the name temporal"
"I understand the captains frustration and action, I been a captain myself and if an officer had done this to me, peace and quiet in their quarters would been... mild"
With her words she seems a tiny bit annoyed and continues
"But she can not be that... flawed to not realize I was referencing that directive. If a doctor of temporal science begins telling things that might happen, and says that the source of that can not be disclosed, in private be course it is that sensitive... How can reasonably do a thing like that in front of others? In private sure, in private I would stated the exact directive but....she did not even give me that chance"
She seems sad now and lost for words and looks up, almost hoping to see Sery or anyone
"I am not sure if this applies to an AI, I guess you are more disciplined, But saying "Temporal prime directive" in order to protect the timeline is often like saying "Do not think of pink elephants" if you really do not wan them to think of pink elephants... I could not say that in front of everyone... or should I have? I know I could handled that better, I am really disappointed in myself, I was to occupied not to think on pink elephants and wishing to do a good job at the once chance I was given"
Xylvarenn face palms with some force, deeply disappointed in her own performance
"Trust goes both ways, and I do not for a moment think she is not smart enough to know that. I -know- she knows that. So I do not think she expects it blindly... I really do not know what to do about this. Hopefully when they realize why this all happens there time will be right to talk about it."
"I am glad you are here Sery"

Sery answered in a chipper voice.
"On it....give me a sec..." She paused. "Hold On Elusive..be right with ya...no I don't know where you put it....oh yes! try there...Okies talk to you later!" Her tone returned to indicate she was again talking to Xyl "Klara appears to be the being discovered to be existing in the RN-74 crystalline structure below...her name is Klara. A possible mental and emotional remnant of the last of the race that once lived on Yanara IV"
Sery answered her in an even pleasant voice.
"You are making an assumption a lot of folks seems to make ma'am." She paused. "I would not say it is a flaw...but more of a test...you should've told her straight out you needed to speak to her in private before telling her what you found. This ship has been put through the wringer and a lot of people got hurt by folks playing games and keeping secrets...I was there with her whole she held the hand of one who died because of someone trying to serve two masters instead of one..."
"So she is like the majority of the crew less than patient with those who seemingly do...I do not for a moment think that you are malicious in your intent...but she can't take that chance..."
"She just prefers blunt and direct...no nonsense answers...and to know you put your family first...and if you have a regulation backing you up..she may not like it..but she will respect it at least."
She then seems to note the sadness in what Xyl says next...
Sery softly.
"Xyl....you aren't alone..you have to have faith is all." She paused a moment as she sorted out a massive amount of calculations for her friend. "I do somewhat understand...the mere saying of the topic leads immediately to the thinking of the item. A classic paradox..."
A brightness returns to her tone. "I will talk to her for you...I know she will listen. If it helps..I believe in you and I know you just want to help and do what is right..."
"Okies! I have a answer for you in regards to our scans..."
A series of projections appears before Xyl.
"I impulsively did a scan of the anomaly and found is is nascent and as such has not yet affected anything...it also appears to be be guiding something that has not yet caught up to our current temporal period."
"I theorize that it is a possible portal to which someone is moving mass from one time to another...Now I ran a scan of the system to see if any residual past tachyon scans showed similarities and I've got a match for you."
"The trace tachyon particles around the six recently created craters surrounding the crystalline structure down on Yarana IV match those of the nascent anomaly in orbit around Yanara III"

"Please tell me more of this Klara?.. and I hope you still remember all this needs to remain classified, not even shared with Elusive"
Sery answered her in an even pleasant voice. "You are making an assumption a lot of folks seems to make ma'am." She paused. "I would not say it is a flaw...but more of a test...you should've told her straight out you needed to speak to her in private before telling her what you found. "I did tell her in her ready-room, our chat there was disturbed be course reality cam up... maybe I should began the entire conversation with saying "Temporal prime directive"... But even the most sane and wise person tends to have a massive rush of un-luck while thinking to their brains when hearing that, I did not wish to risk it... maybe it was wrong of me to act all together. Maybe it is I who acted when I should not acted and that is the source of all this"
She sighs even more depressed
"I know this ship been trough hardship, But we are a semi-militant organization with complex hierarchies and often need to know basis. We all serve the federation as our master, and a captain is just a tiny tiny pawn in the game... when it comes to timeline integrity, it goes beyond that. If this ships crew is so... damaged from the horrors they have faced that they can not exist in a state when they are not the be all know all, maybe they should not... I..."
Another painful sigh as she can not even finish the sentence
"As an individual...as a being with a consciousness... I can not express how much I sympathies with them. But that does not make it right."
"So she is like the majority of the crew less than patient with those who seemingly do...I do not for a moment think that you are malicious in your intent...but she can't take that chance..."

I appreciate the offer Sery. But it is not needed and I would prefer if you don't, as it may lead to someone investigating the classified entries this has cased from us talking and... I think its better if you do not, but the offer is really really sweet of you.
"Okies! I have a answer for you in regards to our scans..."
A series of projections appears before Xyl.

The trill returns to professional mode
"You are a very very lovely being Sery, Please check if there are any signs of transmission coming trough, like the one we find resides of. Try to use this new data to analyze what it was that caused those craters and see how far away the event horizon is for the changes to begin to manifest. Is this ship capable of scanning for an individuals temporal "fingerprint" or signature?"
Xylvarenn thinks for a while and then asks:
"Do you have a preferred physical manifestation?"

Sery chuckled warmly at this...
"You do realize this Klara has already talked to several crewmembers and has deeply interacted with the Doctor, the Counselor and K'Rika who is a civilian...right?" She giggled some. "I think the cat is out of the bag with this one..."
"You do realize that the Commander due her nature, what she has done in her career and in her position in the fleet, according to my records actually has a higher security clearance that you do ma'am. You would hardly be her first encountered with someone from Temporal Investigations...just saying..."
"As for what this ship can do and their dedication to the Federation...i wont insult you be going over such a thing. They know their duties and regulations. As do I...i just re=read them...and again..and did it one more time" The last but said with playful innocence.
"Yes I do" Sitting down next to her is the holo-image of a young woman in her late teens, orangish tan skin and long white hair. Her slim form is clad in a blue and gray dress with knee high heeled boots. She smiles warmly to Xyl, "Here I am..."
"While there are no signs of any transmissions as of yet...we know what to look for." She beamed to Xyl. "See we've encountered these people before. Over K'Rika's people's new homeworld."
"See what caused the craters seems to have been a primitive form of impulse engine...while we don't have a record to match the engine type...they appear to use the same RN-74 energy signature for power." She clicks her tongue. "So we can guess those were possible six craft left behind by the people that once lived on Yanara IV...."
'Here is where I found your fingerprint...its the second power curve...though degrading it was left inside the much stronger RN-74 residue...so we found the echo of the bad guys finger prints."
She flicks her wrist and calls up a holo-image before Xyl showing a recognizable and familiar power signature for an advanced tractor beam.
Sery looks back over to Xyl.
"We learned their name was the Na'kuhl." She nods to her.
"The power signature of the tractor beam matches the one they tried to use on us over the Travynae world."

Xylvarenn smiles as she sees sery pop up next to her, studying her as she continues to talk. when the AI goes silent xylv smiles once more and speaks in a soft tone
"You look lovely Sery, reminds me of someone I used to know" "I did not realize that I am afraid. nor did I know who she is. I was told to go to my quarters like a naughty girl sent to her room, since that you has been my window outside"
She giggles friendly and continues.
"When it comes to clearances, this host is quiet useless. Apart from some Daystrom and RnD specific high security ones that... I do not even think works on this vessel, The host holds nothing more fancy then any other half lieutenant. so I guess my option is either to sit here for a few hours trying 7 month old captain codes that will likely not work on this ship..."
A playful smile forms on her lips
"Or I can trust you that you as a very lovely and wonderful ship computer understand why this information needs a quarantine time of a access level higher then I per rank can order you to, but instead a access level that based on star fleets regulation and suggestions of temporal information non disclosure handling of information that still is able to cause harm to a timeline. I think I will go with trusting you. You been very lovely so far, and seem to understand why this information is dangerous. Ohh... I am not part of temporal investigations. -IF- I was this problem would not exist"
Xylvarenn giggles again with a faint smile before being a bit more serious again.
"Can you take a temporal signature scan of Klara and constantly monitor if it appears on the forming event chain and place a passive alarm if her signature ever changes there from what its intended to be. also scan for the signature of this ship in the forming eventband."
"If we assume they are going to throw old shuttles as bombs on to the third planet, what position of notice is in the most direct trajectory for impact from the temporal rift?"
"Ohh... Is there any one simple scan we could show some other crew member so they will immediately see who is behind all this, without every saying or showing anything they would not know from a random lucky scan?"

Val continued going over the information. "Hrm, something woke them up. They are susceptible to sound. Are they that sensitive that they were awaken by the away team?" Val picks up the toy pony and begins spinning it between her fingers. "Elusive, has there been any planetary activity on a grand scale recently. Say, before and after the arrival of the archaeological team?" No reason to not check the obvious first before going out to make her inquires with Klara herself.

Elusive scowled a little as she checked for such findings and then brightened...
"Here is something Val...and I think this is what did it...." She paused some and then pranced around some. "Just confirmed it...a minor reading on one of commander Palmer's minor seismic sensor arrays..."
"Just before the first attacks by those horrible things..." She projected a holo-projection of the readouts. "There was an indication of a seismic event located around the arctic circle."
"If my calculations are correct...and they always are..." She preens prettily. "and if Commander Palmer's are...and by every indication...they are."
She looks up from the SPADD to Val and smiles. "They would seem to correspond to the six recently formed craters around Klara's crystalline structure."
"See...that event would have resonated through the the RN-74 crystal vein..that runs under that mountain range for miles...it would echoed all over the northern hemisphere...it might've been enough to awaken one cluster of the dormant critters...and then their movements would've awoken others exponentially."
"It would be like an avalanche, those poor researchers would never have seen it coming Val..."

"It would be like an avalanche, those poor researchers would never have seen it coming Val..."
Val had to wince at the summary. Those poor people really did not have a chance. She would say a prayer for them later. Right now she would focus on the cause of the creatures walking up. "Indeed it would. Now what can you tell me about the craters around the structure? Cross referencing from sensor information from the other planet. How long ago were these craters made. Plus, what kind are they? Impact, was something digging there, are they breathing holes?"
Then she made a face. She did not want to think she was walking across some enormous creatures face the first time they went down there to check out the structure.

Elusive frowned a little with her tongue in her cheek as she worked over the data.
"Nope not breathey holes...and they were recent...running the numbers now." She blinked in surprise as she got her answer "Oh oh...Um..these craters are recent Val..like really recent."
She looked over to Val. "These craters look like something was ripped out of them or tore UP out of them...I am showing very decayed impulse residue...very primitive and early impulse engines...but these might be launch sites and their departure would match the time that the critters got woken up..."
"Hold up...hold up...we have a second barely there signature in the impulse signature...its a faint energy signature .." a pony gasps.
"Val, we might have a problem here. I think someone woke up these critters when they took on purpose whatever ships that were buried in those craters...and I think we may have faced these jerks before..."
A holo-display appears before Val showing the energy footprint of the bare there signature...and then Elusive displays a second one...
"The first footprint is from the decaying impulse signature...now look at the second..." Elusive sat with a huff. "Its a match..."
"Do you remember those cretins we clashed with that were trying to cause issues over the Travynae Homeworld?? The clowns that were trying to disrupt our nea and weird first contact mish?"
"That is them...the second signature is from their tractor beam...the two signals are a match.."
"Its the Na'Kuhl again..."

Val eyes widen as she watch Elusive presentation of the information. This was bad, very bad. She hit her combadge. "Stingray to Commander Shantal, I'm sending you information on our findings from the structure. I believe we may be in grave danger from the Na'kuhl... again."
Val puffed out her cheeks, "those jerks. Why can't they leave things alone!"
