Ada hugged her back, "I am ok. How about you?"

Jessi pondered this a long moment and then looked about the bridge and then down to the pair of empty command seats.
"No...." Jessi said softly before looking back to Ada. "Not really...I am holding up..but this..."
"Hit me pretty hard kiddo..."

Ada looked saddened as she replied, "Yeah, but..." she stopped herself a moment, "Care to talk about it Jessi? I can listen if you like..."

Jessi looked at her friend and drew a breath and composed herself.
"Ada...it will be okay you know..." Jessi smiled some. "They are both alive...and that is what matters..."
SHe draws herself up a little in a pretty good Talia imitation, her voice sorta like Talia, and says with Talia like bravado...
"We are still in this fight...." She puts her hands to her forehead and wiggles her forefingers like Andorian Antennae...
"Strength and Honor...Crudgemuffins..."
She looks to her friend then...

Feeling K’ria’s hand slip into his, he forcefully squeezes her hand, tapping into his pent up anger. He holds eye contact with her before she leans closer to his ear. He continues to stare at her for a moment, repeating the words whispered to him in his head over and over again. He glances over to Jeb and all the newcomers before realizing just how tight his grip was on K’ria’s hand, even with her gauntlet on. He quickly loosens his grip, the only person he wanted to hurt was definately not in the same room, and that made him even angrier. He stares at the ground with a vacant look on his face, waiting with the others in silence.

K'Ria never makes a sound as he squeezes her hand tighter and tighter. She watches him a long moment allowing him this revered silence as she never leaves his side, she keeps his hand though to let him know she understands everything he is feeling...
and that he does not stand alone.
She stands by him as he keeps his vigil, willing to remain by his side until he has done what he must here. So she waits by his side.

Gwen sat in the armory's Delta Operations Office. She was monitoring all teams as they maintained their QRT rapid response readiness levels. She was aware Jeb, Tia and Barb were over on the starbase and as such she was needed here. She closed her eyes and very much wished she was doing /something/ about the cowardly bastard that had ambushed the Captain and Commander... Gwen for one never liked to remain idle...all her life she had never sat still...always on the move..always looking for a way to improve her situation...always a way to win the fight..
Yet for now...she had nothing to do but wait, and it was killing her.
Inwardly she was seething...Commandr Arnimane had been the first officer to look at her as a security officer...and later recommended her to be assigned to Delta. She did not look at Gwen and see the tainted past of her former life...see her as nothing more than an exotic dancer...she saw Gwen as an accomplished officer...it was through her and the captain giving the woman who had been her biggest enemy aboard ship...ironically become the best friend she had ever had. The Captain...had always been strong...fair to her ..to all of her crew...to be struck down like this, was like stabbing the entire crew in the back...
She wanted nothing more to find the monster that did this and tear them apart with her own bare hands...slowly. However...for right now, she had a duty to perform. She was to look after the ship's Delta's and maintain her watch.Which she knew in her heart was exactly what the Captain and Commander Arnimane would want her to do...what tey would want all of them to do...
Watch out over the Adagio and keep her safe. Gwen vowed to do this...
...with Strength and with Honor...
So she waited for news...waited for a target...and until then she did what was expected of her...
...her duty.

After an extended period of time, Sevuk quietly slips out of the infirmary. He makes his way back to the Adagio, his next duty shift not starting for several hours. Sevuk enters the armory and retrieves a phaser rifle, heading to the range. Entering one of the booths, he takes a moment to operate the console next to him to produce targets. The holographic form of several Heralds appear in front of him. Sevuk turns his body, aims the rifle down the range and places his finger on the trigger. He fires off shots repeatedly, twisting and turning as the simulation provided targets at different locations and angles.

Ada offers a small smile, "Indeed. We are still in the fight. Talia is strong and she may not be ok now, I have no doubt she will be fine." Ada's smiles fades and turns to a sad look again as she stops talking.

Jessi listens and slowly lowers her hands and smiles a little more.
"She is very strong, I am sure you are..."
Jessi watches her friend's demeanor slip..."Hey...your mother is strong too Ada...she will be okay too."
"She will be back aboard I am sure as soon as she knows the Captain is awake and she learns she will be fine..."

Jessi gives her a brave smile "I am sure i don't know her as you do...but i do know we all have such a darkness inside us...:
"as much as I know...your mother...she is amazing and strong Hon..if anyone can control herself it is her."
"offers another brave smile to her friend "Besides it is not like she is all alone..'
"she has all of us to support her..especially you.."
'I am sure...she will be fine...and she will help the Skipper get right as rain and then we find out just wo attacked us and see they face justice for what they did to them"

Post by Ensign Lindsey Wellington on Jan 20, 2017 18:31:46 GMT -5
Chief Sara Baker after only a moment or two appeared across the doorway from Lindsey. She stood at parade rest and stood her watch in her usual place with her partner as if the pair were once more standing watch on the Adagio's bridge.
She remained stoic as her eyes remained fixed on everyone who came and went no matter to rank and position. Her look and demeanor gave every indication of a little hawk on patrol, a hawk who was hungry and looking for just the right meal...and pity the attacker should they try again... Lindsey watched Baker at first as every other Person that arrived as eventually wanted entrance to the Infirmary. As she took her Post next to her, Lindsey simply offered her a slight nod before she went back to her 'duty'. There were no words exchanged. It was not needed, they both felt the same. Tia noticed Lindsey and Baker standing guard at the door and she waited to catch the ensigns eyes.
The young Senior chief took a second and a second only to give the new Ensign a nod of deep respect before she resumed her vigil at the foot of her captain's bed Again Lindsey would simply return the nod, while having her hands behind her back and formed to a fist. Her knuckles already turned pale again, from the pressure she did form these fists, fueld by the anger she felt. It was totally clear for her, that she was not alone in her remorse about what had happend to the captain. Lindsey would turn her gaze towards Sevuks direction who was standing a bit behind with Sinez and a few others of the crew. Even his Logic could not deny what was about to happen. Whoever did the attack, declared not war on the Ships captain or its XO, he declared war on its crew, the family, the keth they both are part of. This was a matter of survival. It must be made sure that something like this cannot happen again. In old Irland this was called a 'fíoch bunaidh', a blood-feud that would follow as soon the their captain is able to walk again.

Gwen watched him silently enter the armory and select his weapons. She watched him very closely as he walked over to the rifle range. She silently stood at the rifle range doorway as he selected his program and watched as he methodically fired away. She knew in her heart what he must be feeling but her heart sank a little knowing she could not adress it directly with him.
It would only embarrass him or far worse...force him to express the depth of his guilt..earned or not.
Gwen drew a breath, she knew this was what girl friends suited up for. She unslung her rifle and walked over to his booth. She waited for his final wave to complete and she walked up to gently lay a gloved hand on his shoulder squeezing it firmly. Then without one word to him she keyed in a command to the booth;s control. The computer acknowledged and the booth extended to a setting to accomodate them both. She She programed an increase to the holographic Herald setting and readied her rifle. She looked up into his eyes letting him see her full resolve, her love and her complete understanding and then still holding his gaze...
"Computer....commence targeting sequence and run"
Gwen then turned her back to and stood shoulder to shoulder with him as together they now faced the renewed on coming wave of hostile targets...
...she sighted one...and fired.

Sevuk ceases firing as he feels the hand on his shoulder. He lowers his weapon to a safe position and turns to Gwen, still keeping the rifle angled towards the range but pointed down. Observing her operating the console next to him with a raised eyebrow, Sevuk nods to her as the booth expands for both occupants. As she looks into his eyes he holds her gaze. Sevuk's stoic expression softens for the briefest of moments before returning to normal as she commands the computer to begin the sequence. He turns to face the targets, raising his rifle and firing as he stands next to her.
