Back on the Protector, Tiberius returned to the door of his quarters, a box of sweets under his arm. They were the Cardassian equivalent of chocolates.
He dinged the doorbell, trying to announce his presence before he walked in. Tolar seemed jumpy back on Deep Space Nine, so he wanted to follow up.

Tolar is under the bed covers, facing away from the door. Upon hearing Tiberius enter, he rolls over to look at him. He freezes momentarily, as if trying to assess a threat, then relaxes. Sitting up, he stretches. "Thalian chocolates?" A weary smile tugs at the corners of his mouth.

Tiberius sat on the edge of the bed and offered Tolar the box. "Of course. I managed to find a trader on the Promenade who had some." He paused. "I was concerned about what happened back there. I'm not sure I've ever seen you flustered like that."

"Do you remember when you were taken prisoner, in the other universe?" Tolar's eyes shift from Tiberius to the box of chocolates, averting eye contact.

Tiberius sighed. He did remember that time, at least some of it.
"I do, Tolar. I mean, some of it. I was in and out of consciousness. But I know what you're thinking, and I think you might be jumping to conclusions. Anyone could have sent that gift to you. Could have been a former flame. Who knows? It's not worth shutting down over."
He paused.
"Besides, if you're right, well... we know how to fight ESPers. They're not invincible."
