For once Varel faltered, her eyes growing wider as they locked on the Trayveni. She could feel herself trembling, almost wilting away from the intruder as her knees threatened to drop her to the floor. What hope did any of them have against this creature, so technologically advanced in comparison that they may as well be gods?
No.
"N-no..." she finally managed to choke out. It may have been only instants to everyone else, but that intensity had turned seconds to centuries for her. "Fear is... illogical... your technology is impressive... but under it all you are only flesh and blood like the rest of us..." It seemed an exercise in futility to try and resist, but she had to.
He would kill them all if she didn't.

Victor kept drifting out of illusion and reality as he struggled to keep the heavy welding unit aloft in his hands. He did his best to fight off the mental attack as he gripped the welder with renewed strength.
He cried out with a fierce battle cry, not quite sure if what he was experiencing was real. In any event, he attempted to brutally behead the Traveyni with his white-hot plasma welder as he screamed like a madman.

Jon's shot sails wide narrowly missing Varel's head as she fights off the effects of the mental assault.
He keeps his rifle aimed at her head to draw out the fear from within her...waiting for the blissful moment of fear in her eyes before he ended her life.
Within her mind all of her teaching from the earliest days of her instruction, the teachings of T'Pol, T'Pau and Surak...all flood over to offer her the logic and reason to overpower her terror, to bury her fear...to keep control of herself as she retains her sense of logic and ends his assault on her mind.
The warrior snarled in shocked frustration as she overcame his attack. He was about to just shoot her and be done with it all until Jon's shot whizzed by...
The Warrior whirled and aimed at Jon and fired...
[Bad Guy roll : 8]
The shot drills jon square in the chest, throwing him back over his helm console once more to crash against the bridge's main viewscreen.

Jon is knocked back towards his console, hitting it hard before flipping over and crashing into the viewscreen.

In the moment as the warrior's rifle aimed away from her head she switched her phaser to her other hand. She was too late to stop the intruder from blasting into Jon, but she did try to take advantage of his momentary distraction with the human to raise her weapon and fire off another three-shot volley, aiming for his head in her close proximity. Hopefully his shield had been chipped down significantly enough by then.

Arisawa grins as the power begins to fade back in. She looks at Scrappy with a little smirk, "Next time when you say you're going to cover me don't throw yourself at their mouth. It's just too mean to poison them like that." She patted Scrappy on the shoulder and turned her phaser to fire on another of the bugs.

Victor wiped some of the blood from his welding mask and looked down at the severed head of the Traveyni warrior. He couldn't believe it. It was almost like he just killed the devil himself. A huge weight lifted from his shoulders.
His hands gripped the welder as he swayed back and forth slightly, his head still swimming from the psychic attack. But he was emboldened by the death of the warrior, as it proved that yes -- these were not invincible foes. He turned to the Scorpion closest to him and, still in somewhat of a daze, charged it. He gripped the welder like a baseball bat and took a home-run swing at his enemy, shouting: "spes mea in deo est!"
