The Na'Che'Vek's test flight was a success. But it is far from perfect. The tachyon grid and plasma weapons are still out of sync, and the transporter specs which I have requested have yet to be approved by Star Fleet command, which make the vessel far from perfect for it's primary mission. We are transferring the vessel from Earth Space dock to Vulcan for the Academy of Science to overlook the project. I feel that further insight into the project would be more welcome. Trans-dimensional relations with the what has become known as the "mirror universe" is an impossible dream, but if my understanding of the Spock of the reality is any indication, the Spock of that reality would not agree with Star Fleet's assesment. Change is possible as are relations, but someone has to make the first overture to avert another war that I fear might be far more costly than any the Udine and the Klingons could bring to the region.
Just because something is currently improbable doesn't mean that something is forever impossible. Overtures must be made, be it with the Terran Federation or other faction of that reality if the Dimensional walls are truly breaking down. Isn't that what the Federation is all about? Peace with New Life?
And what is this "Mirror Universe" if not a new form of life? We always must strive for peace but prepare for war, but I fear that our familiarity with this other reality makes us more.... nervous than we need to be. Do we see the darkness in ourselves as something to fear or something to embrace and nurture.
I must make my proposal for negations with Star Fleet again, but first the Na'Che'Vek must meet with required standards if my proposal is to have any, even minute chance of success.
I will be inviting other engineers to the construction of the vessel. But will my ideals be as radical to these young men and women as it is to my own people?
