Earth Space Dock
I find myself growing discontented with life at Space Dock. While it is still only temporary, I feel a growing surge of unspent energy in my sinews. Tightening up and just getting ready to spring out and actually do something.
Running around the outer ring of Space Dock and even some quickly taken advantage of time in one of the holosuites only porovides a short respite from the building tension and need do so something, anything.
I did manage however to get myself down to Earth for a little respite. It wasn't long, but it was good to run around some of the places I had visited and enjoyed back when I was still in the Academy. Climbing throught he Vasquez Rocks was just what I needed. Even if I don't recall it being so tiresome. Maybe it was the change in gravity.
On the bright side however I have managed to at least meet a few of the people that are going to be a part of my new assignment. Even if I have yet to actually see the ship or its Captain. But I have gotten word saying that that situation will be rectified shortly. As early as the next few days the ship should be going out for shakedown.
Will be good to get settled in and not have to be living out of my duffel while in temp quarters here. Cramped or not, fromw hat I've read about the new ship, it will be a welcome change.
Mother did send me a program the last time we spoke, and carefully avoided the subject of a Tactical assignment versus a Scientific one, that I am quite looking forward to trying out. It has been a long time since I was able to run across the Savannah, tearing across the landscape as fast as I could. Feeling the soil between my toes, the warm fresh Cait air in my lungs, the grassess brushing my fur.
She apparently modified it to include the small little ranch we used to live in all those years ago. Outdated perhaps, but it will bring back pleasant memories I think. And it was a nice gesture on her part.
Maybe I'll show it to that medic I met in the lounge earlier. Been a long time since I ran with anyone else after all, and I'm sure she'd appreciate running through even a holographic representation of our homeworld.
Hmm.
