Personal Log
Ensign M'raal Sztam
Stardate: 88422.31
USS Odyssey
*Soft growl*
It has been a few days since the official launch, but an eventful and busy few days. So much so that I have not had time to do much of anything other than make sure the whole of the security department is up to standards.
Even if it is a medical ship, no sense letting everyone get into bad habits, and I think best to get everything up to speed as quickly as possible.
It has been tiring, which isn't helped by the cramped crew quarters *huffs* Honestly you'd think they'd take species of my height and mass into consideration when making the racks up. But it suffices.
Honestly it is about the same as what I had in the militia and come to think of it quite luxurious compared to back home. *growls a bit* Maybe living first at the Academy and then aboard the Brooklyn got me to used to creature comforts. *growls* Another thing best left behidn and taken care of.
Interestingly enough, the Captain is Caitain. Even if she is a doctor she does seem capable enough to handle a ship. Though admittedly I do worry over any combat skills should the need arise. Medical ship or not..actually especially in a medical ship where we may have to go in under fire to take care of casualties, combat skills are somewhat crucial.
Med staff have to be protected while they do their jobs after all. *long pause* will have to do some basic drills I think with the rest of the Security personell...I do not think it would look very good to have to explain why those under me where unable to keep the doctors and corpsman from harm, let alone if the captain got hurt.
*growls a bit in annoyance*
Is it wrong to hope for a Medical ship getting into combat just for soemthign to sink my claws into *sighs a bit* At the very least I was able to test the ships weapon systems, and I did get a slight feel for hwo she handles when I piloted her into dock at Starbase 39.
I think she'll do passably well if the need arises. I hope so. Faling happens occassionally, no matter what we do. *sighs* But not living up to examples set and failing in teh eyes of another of my kind...especially a Captain...
No, best not to think on that. As M'Rek always said, Plan for the worst, and then when it happens leap on it and tear it to peices to make sure it knows wha ta dumb idea it was showing up to bother you.
