Rear Admiral meranda Kalavek reporting
Captain Tobin Frost and I were ordered to Admiral Quinn’s office on Earth Space Dock for a meeting. Admiral Quinn, Admiral Valoura, and Lieutenant Commander Sylus Crey were already present on my arrival. Admiral Valoura had concerns about the legality concerning a prisoner female being held in relation to the events that transpired at a Hawk Eye station in the Beta Quadrant. Apparently there had been an engagement and a prisoner was taken, the particulars I wasn’t yet aware of. We were tasked with formulating a report on the matter, I was to gather what data I could and Captain Parker was tasked with interviewing the actual prisoner. Commander Sylus Crey accompanied me to operations where I could begin gathering and compiling the requested information.
Once in station operations I secured a console and begin pulling up and report or personal logs that made references to Hawk Eye. After reading a few of these reports it’s became obvious that the files which had been made at different star dates provided a puzzle like string of events from various perspectives. I had the computer analyze the log and extrapolate a more flowing story like report to glean what had transpired. The effort was successful and I felt our objective was at hand. Commander Crey however was not fully satisfied and wished an eye witness to the events be questioned. I was able to make contact with Captain Seera and have her report to operations for debriefing.
While Captain Seera was giving her oral recounting of the events I noticed a security prompt on the console I had secured. It was coming from the detention block and my efforts to reach them met with negative results. I placed the station on alert and dispatched a security team to the detention block. They reported injured, dead, missing and escaped personnel. A medical team was sent to detention and I began the process of a more rigorous lock down of the station, taking transporters off line and bringing up the station shields mainly to prevent beam out but also to deter the notion of simply flying away off into space. I ordered ships in the vicinity to begin sweeps for possible cloaked ships based off information I had gotten from Hawk Eye incident reports this aliens culture has a means to cloak, or similar. Also these reports gave me some insight into the cultures view on capture, and their preference for death so I ordered engineering to hard disconnect the stations self destruct to prevent that possible dilemma. I received a verifiable request for medical transport to sick bay from the detention block from the now on scene medical team. A transporter was brought back online and after the transport was conducted taken back off line.
Captain Parker arrived inquiring as to how he might be of assistance, reports from detention had again stopped so I had him proceed with caution to the block and tell me what was going on. While he was gone I began a sensor sweep of the entire station starting at the detention block and moving out from there to locate our escaped alien female. This was going to take some time. Captain Parker returned with a broken com badge that he was able to figure out belonged to Captain Frost. Using Frost’s biometric data collected during his last medical exam I began another sweep for him, again this would take some time. I received a new request for transport permission but conformation or specifics weren’t being given. Captain Parker was sent to investigate the nature or the request and clarify. The sensor sweep for the alien was incomplete but I was being shown multiple signals for the species across the station. I initiated red alert and informed security of an intruder alert and began relaying locations of the contacts within the station. Captain parker returned and informed me whoever it was had already beamed out using off station means.
The station rocked with an explosion and primary systems went offline. Backups responded but the stations central computer had become nearly useless. I drafted temporary command orders for Captain Parker to assume command of the USS Solbianca and assist with the location efforts outside the station. Engineering began to struggle with the shields and I told them to lower the output to at least keep the shields minimally active to prevent transporters. As I was communicating with engineering I noticed a non Starfleet subroutine beginning to access the communications array. Apparently it was a sleeper routing that disruption of primary power triggered. I was able to get the stations communications array offline before the transmission could be made. Once the transmission failed the subroutine appeared to go dormant indicating it had a singular purpose and it was unable to accomplish it.
Ships began exiting through the weakened station shielding making the search more difficult for the ships on perimeter. With the help of the engineering crew I was able to raise the shield quickly enough to prevent all but ten vessels from breaching the immediate station area. Once the station systems were back online and no aliens were detected inside it any longer I re established the communications array. I was made aware that the USS Giselle, Lee and Solbianca had managed to thwart the escape attempt, recover Captain Parker and our wayward prisoner.
The following officers are recommended for stated recognitions:
Captain Frost: 1 Merit for Composure under duress (1 Merit)
Captain Parker: Recommendation for Excellence under pressure for his investigations inside the station and a Recommendation for tactical excellence for affective command of a vessel of different class then his own and directing an unfamiliar crew in the rescue of Captain Frost and the prevention of the escape of the fleeing prisoner and her accomplices (2 Recommendations)
Captain Seera: 1 Merit for Composure faced with adversity (1 Merit)
