Since someone mentioned Tabula Rasa (namely scott!) I figure I'd throw in a tribute to the Black Swan..may she rest in peace (from a game who's life was cut short). *side note* my role playing with pen and paper goes back to the early 80's. My favorite massively multiplayer online character is Cygnus, created in Ultima Online (half demon and half human)
Black Swan: Question and Answer
I’ll post and update this information upon request. Since for obvious
reason getting answers from Jessica in game will be most difficult.
Question: What is Jessica’s history back on Earth?
Answer: Long answer…Jessica Arnimane is not her birth name.
Her parents were in the US Air Force and stationed in Incirlik, Turkey.
She led a happy and well adjusted life until a tragic shopping trip where
she was injured and her family killed in a terrorist attack. Witnesses at
the scene noted a freak lightning bolt killed one of the terrorists.
Jessica was treated at the base hospital and Central Intelligence Agents
conducted interviews. Based on those interviews and evidence from the
event, the CIA conducted Logos receptive testing on Jessica to which she
tested positive. She immediately became a ward of the Federal Government
and specifically an agency within the CIA. The Agency officially
pronounced Jessica dead with the attack that killed the rest of her
family, Jessica was told it was for her protection and the protection of
any living family. She was given a new name of Jessica Holden.
The Agency tested Jessica and saw in her great potential to be a valued
agent. She underwent rigorous training and education for several years.
Some in the Agency saw she was still emotionally scared and concerned for
her well being. Jessica was missing the family she lost so these
benefactors in the Agency made her “cover” assignment to be in the US Army
Military Intelligence. This step did a lot to help heal Jessica, as the
people in her unit became her new family.
The Agency started to deploy The Black Swan in early 2002. She quickly
proved to be effective and even some noted her ruthless efficiency in
certain assassination missions. Her missions and targets were all
selected to capitalize on her bias and hatred. Over time Black Swan’s
mission deployment included a much broader range. Eventually, Jessica
began to question the ethics and morality of some of the things she was
doing. On one critical assignment she was directly order by Agency
operatives to abandon her squad to almost certain death in order to get
intelligence information back to the Agency. Black Swan followed her
orders and it was a turning point for her and a choice that haunts her
forever more, in her mind she effectively abandoned her family. The Black
Swan started to take liberty in interpreting mission orders and
directives. She eventually refused to complete certain assignments and
even assisted assassination targets in escaping. The Agency recalled her
for debriefing and she refused. The Agency was about to deploy agents to
terminate the Black Swan when some unknown benefactors once again
interceded. Black Swan’s assignments became those she always excelled at
and for which she is best known, intelligence gathering and rescuing
hostages and prisoners.
Question: What did Jessica do during the invasion?
Answer: Initially, Black Swan was assigned to recon missions by the
Agency, but in time orders did not continue to come. She then convinced
Army Intelligence that she could be best used to help in the evacuation.
She found information and organized raids into Bane controlled areas to
rescue people. Many people owe their lives and freedom in the AFS due to
the efforts of the Black Swan. The last action the Black Swan took was to
orchestrate her own disappearance. Military Intelligence officially lists
Jessica Holden, codenamed The Black Swan as missing in action.
Question: How old is Jessica?
Answer: mid 30’s her exact date of birth record were lost. As well as her
original birth name.
Question: Did anyone in the Agency survive?
Answer: Yes. They are now incorporated in the AFS Black Ops division.
If they know that Jessica survived and contacted her is not known.
