Title of Log: It never ends
Yesterday was a blur. After getting Nyoko some flowers, I had to beggar the staff on Sol Station to appoint me as Nyoko's primary attending physician. she had been granted her request to be one of her attending physicians.
I had a good claim, being her fleet's second medical officer, but a sick bay as large as the station's can be a bit proprietary about their patients. And since Nyoko's issues weren't considered serious, they didn't get why I was pressing so hard.
But professional courtesy can open doors, it would seem. That or my long legs. At any rate, I got what I wanted.
Which was good because I knew that only with exclusive access to Nyoko's treatment records could I use the gift that Tam Reese had given me.
Biometric gel isn't easy to come by.
How he got it, where he got it, who he got it from, are all questions I do NOT want answered. I was grateful for the banned substance as I know it will speed up Nyoko's recovery and hopefully strengthen her bones to actually be better then they were before.
It was easy to slip it into her meds without anyone noticing. I feel a tad bit guilty, but aren't I bound by oath to treat patients to the best of my ability?
And we need her with this latest hoopla.
I've reviewed Den'ya's reports and they are very disturbing. Starfleet owes her a debt for her quick thinking. And to think that not only were Nyoko and I on DS9 hours before it was quarantined, but we were actually talking to Taithen in Quarks.
Personal Note: Must talk to Nyoko about recommending Den'ya for a commendation. She is proving to be quite a welcome addition to our fleet.
We both observed he was starting to act out of character, but when are ships are told to deploy, we deploy. I was sure to inoculate my crew and see that Nyoko's crew were also inoculated in her absence.
And the mystery remains as to the exact source of the poison. Biological warfare at its worst. I fear we haven't heard the last of this issue.
I thought about sending a get well gift to Taithen, but since he'd only call any such notion "illogical", I figured I'd spare myself the grief.
The deliberations for our new fleet Admiral go on. It'll be nice to have one in place. Wish her Ny's could've waited until after this had been decided.
Poor Nyoko is out of sick bay and propped up on some cushions in the lounge above Club 47. I'm glad she is feeling well enough to recover around folks and not in some dark cabin.
I'll offer to have supper with her today.
Not like she's going to go jogging with me again anytime soon.
