Section 02 – OOC Character Inquiry:

Part A: Character Request
1.) Character name?
Atherton Francisco Cross
2.) Character gender?
Male
3.) Character race?
Human
4.) Is your character a telepath? (Alien telepath characters are subjected by GM approval)
No.
5.) Character class?
Tactical/Cruisers
6.) Character STO level?
Captain 2.
7.) Select an fleet entry level rank. (Ensign, Jr Lieutenant, Lieutenant)
Lieutenant
8.) What is your basic character concept & history?
Concept: The bitter veteran.
Cross isn’t from here. In his reality, the Federation and the Romulan Empire have been at war since a surprise attack destroyed Earth.
While the two realities share similarities, the primary point of divergence was the destruction of Earth and the subsequent failure of diplomacy. Seven years of conflict has made a mark on Atherton Cross, promoted into the shoes of dead men and women. To him, this reality is a paradise… it’s almost too perfect to be true.
9.) What kind of commission does your character have? (Enlisted, Petty Officer, or Officer).
Initially an enlisted man, Ath’ has worked hard to achieve his current grade (An Officer commission). To clarify, in guild RP-handbook terms this is a Command Officer Commission.
10.) Desired ship type of ship you'll be wish to be assigned too? (Tactical, Science, or Cruiser).
I’m flexible. Preferably Cruiser.
11.) Please give a little background about this character.
“You'll need me here and now. I'll do what I can to make things better before I look to going home.” ~ Cross.
Earth-born and raised, Atherton led the easy life typical to most UFP citizens. Finding most career options too boring or not challenging enough, Star Fleet was an attractive option. Exploration missions and peace-keeping assignments were simple enough, giving him time to focus on the career track and personal study.
When Earth vanished however, he flourished; A driving core of bitterness and loathing powered an outer brutality in wartime that would have seen him dismissed in any other circumstances. Volunteering for dangerous assignments and front-line service, Cross did his best to sate his one desire – death to the foe.
Seven years on and that hot core has boiled away to something much less intense, the physical and emotional scars still raw in places. He’s tired and jaded. Destruction given way to a realisation of just how futile his attacks on such a superior enemy were. Enroute to fleet a supply station following the death of Captain Calthorpe, he and his ship simply… vanished.
Needless to say, he will re-appear in the STO universe.
12.) Please describe what Merit System is.
A system to enforce some measure of consequences upon a character. Further reading on the subject is required.
13.) Has this character been enrolled in a fleet prior?
Yes, Task Force Delta.
14.) What are your aspirations for this character? Casual RP (I am just here to RP) or Competitive (I want to be an Admiral some day!)
Casual RP. Cross is here to teach some lesions and restrain the more enthusiastic heroes of the universe by example, but I have no intention on stomping on anyone's concept or RP.
15.) What are strengths, weakness, and flaws in this character’s personality?
This can mostly be found out in RP. PM me if this is required to further the application.
