Saleek@CM34
2.) What time zone are you in?
Central Daylight Time (GMT -6)
3.) How many hours do you play a week?
I try to play an hour a night during the week, and do a majority of my playing on the weekends.
4.) What are your typical play times; (Days and Times)?

27 years of age.
6.) Are you a boy or girl?
I am a man. :-)
7.) Are you an active forum user? (Highly Recommend that you are.)
I have only recently found your forums, and did not know if it was poor etiquette to start using them without being accepted.
8.) Do you like to write Stories, Log Entries or Design LCARs jpegs?
I have written several short stories, and enjoy doing Log/Journal entries as well. I am horrible at graphics design, so I do not know how good I would be in making LCARs jpeg
9.) Are you willing to work with Game Masters as an authority over storylines?
Certainly, I also have several years of experiencing Gming across multiple gaming genre's and platforms.
10.) Are you subscribed to the Daedalus OOC Channel?
I am not. Much like with the forum question above, I did not know if it would be proper to intrude on the OOC channel without being formally invited.

Monthly, if that is what this question refers to.
12.) How did you hear about us?

15.) What is the best way to contact you?
Either by email at cmoore2934@gmail.com or via my AIM screename of Khierien Solenar
Part B: Role Playing Experience Questions
1.) What does the Term "IC-OOC Separation” mean to you?
The separation of in character events from out of character interaction. It is possible to carry on a conflict in game, or a romantic/sexual relationship, but it have no bearing on out of character relationships. The hallmark of a good game is it's ability to evoke strong emotion, but at the end of the day it is still a game, and we are all adults (I think).
2.) What is the difference between the term Player and Character?
The Player is the mind behind the Character, while the Character is the Player's imagined representation within the game world. Although the character is a reflection of the player, they are entirely separate entities and should be treated as such.
3.) What is Meta-gaming?
Using knowledge that your character does not have access to, to make IC decisions.
4.) What are Action Brackets? (:: :: | - - |* *| )
A means of signaling when your character is performing an action. For example:
:::Saleek holds his phaser rifle in a readied position as he prepares for what may come:::
5.) How long have you been playing Star Trek Online?
70 day as of 02/12/2011
6.) How long have you role played in general?
Since the early days of Prodigy and AOL. I started out on the Starfleet (then Spacefleet) Online boards on AOL, and have played all manner of games since then.
7.) What was your last role playing experience?
I roleplay online fairly regularly with a longtime group of friends. We attempt to play at least every Sunday.
8.) What are your expectations of this fleet?
Enjoyment, plain and simple. So long as everyone is having a good time, then my expectations will be well met.
9.) What will you bring to this fleet?
A difference in perspective, experience, and a love of the game. I also a) am physics and mathematics major, b) currently work for NASA, and c) have prior military experience, so there are some things there I can interject to help with the gameplay.
10.) How do you feel about PVP?
When generally playing I engage in it when I've a taste for it. While roleplaying, I feel it can be perfect to accentuate a scene if used properly. I do not condone it's use as a means to bully/grief others, or to harvest various in-game currencies.
11.) What difficulty do you typically play Star Trek Online on?
Normal, unless I have an adventurous group, then occasionally I'll try the higher difficulty settings.
12.) Do you understand that all role playing is conducted locally?
Yes, either on the bridge of a ship, in a lounge, etc. Pretty much face-to-face rather than through tells or over a zone.
13.) Do you know how to roll dice on Star Trek Online? (If so what is the command?)
...I didn't know there was a dice roller, but because of this form I just learned. Nifty! Although in finding the emote, I seem to be only able to roll a percentage die. I will research the command further
14.) Do you have experience with Star Trek Role Play?
Yes, as mentioned earlier, I initially cut my online roleplaying chops in Starfleet/Spacefleet Online in the early days of AOL.
15.) Do you have alts in other fleets? (If so which fleet are we sharing you with?)
1 alt, and his name is Cliff. He is in the Jade Empire fleet. (It was the first fleet to make an offer to me when I initially began playing)
Section 02 – OOC Character Inquiry:
(All these questions are to be answered as player about the character you wish to play. It is best that you review daedalusomega.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rphandbook before answering.)
Part A: Character Request
1.) Character name?
Saleek ul'Dhashri
2.) Character gender?
Male
3.) Character race?
Andorian Augment
4.) Is your character a telepath? (Alien telepath characters are subjected by GM approval)
No
5.) Character class?
Tactical Officer
6.) Character STO level?
Captain 2
7.) Select an fleet entry level rank. (Ensign, Jr Lieutenant, Lieutenant)
Lieutenant
8.) What is your basic character concept & history?
Saleek's parents were Andorian freighter merchants, but in transit from Andoria to a nearby outpost, their ship was attacked by Naussican raiders. Both of Saleek's parents were killed and he was sold into slavery. He was then purchased by Amar Singh, the mad geneticist who seeks to create the perfect augmented being. For years Saleek was experimented on, his DNA merged with an assortment of other species, giving him enhance strength, coordination, and mental aptitude, but at the cost of an almost uncontrollable rage and emotional instability.
Then one day, the USS Achilles happens upon one of Singh's genetics laboratories, and as the insane doctor evacuates the lab he leaves Saleek and several other augments behind in stasis. Saleek is the only Augment to show the least bit of coherence, but he cannot control his violent mood swings. Captain Dhashri, the Vulcan commanding officer of the USS Achilles, decides to adopt the boy and show him the way to control his emotions through meditation and Vulcan teachings.
Under Captain Dhashri's steady hand, Saleek learns to control himself, and after several years he adopts Dhashri's name and applies to Starfleet. Due to the Federations stand on Augments, it takes a great deal of argument and trial by Captain Dhashri in Saleek's defense, but in the end Saleek is offered an enlisted commission until he proves himself. After several missions aboard the Achilles with exemplary commendations by the command staff, Saleek is allowed to enroll in Starfleet academy. Saleek is a member of Red Squadron during his tenure at the Academy, and upon his graduation he joins Starfleet Intelligence-Operating Forces division, earning a field commission to Lieutenant during the Dominion War.
Saleek now serves as a Special Operations officer, assigned to starships for especially dangerous away team missions, tactical support, and fighter/assault shuttle combat support.
9.) What kind of commission does your character have? (Enlisted, Petty Officer, or Officer)
Officer
10.) Desired ship type of ship you'll be wish to be assigned too? (Tactical, Science, or Cruiser).
Tactical, then Cruiser, then Science
11.) Please give a little background about this character.
Basic background was listed above, but I am going to post a character story for the IC portion.
12.) Please describe what Merit System is.
The player is rewarded for IC, and possibly OOC, accomplishments and achievements. Create a particularly cool bit of RP, or complete a storyline, and you receive some sort of citation that allows you to advance in the group.
13.) Has this character been enrolled in a fleet prior?
Nope.
14.) What are your aspirations for this character? Casual RP (I am just here to RP) or Competitive (I want to be an Admiral some day!)
I can be a pretty competitive guy and like to get the most out of every game and experience I embark upon, so yeah all the way to the top. I've some storyline ideas (Conspiracies, Section 31, etc.) and would love to see how they play out.
15.) What are strengths, weakness, and flaws in this character’s personality?
Proud, cocky, and arrogant, Saleek has an intense desire to prove himself, and to prove the Federations views on Augments to be wrong. He will take the most dangerous of assignments, both of a means to prove himself and to save those he may view as “less capable” from endangering themselves. Since his augmentation has made it impossible for him to regrow his antennae, he is mostly shunned by other Andorians. This causes him to mostly keep to himself, although he does respond positively to inclusion.
Saleek respects strength, and honorable conduct. Although an outcast from Andorian society, he still follows the Code of Ushaan and attempts to carry himself with honor and grace. He also has several hobbies, including playing the Flabbjelah, composing Andorian Blues and poetry, and the collecting and crafting of weapons. Generally on away missions he carries his tactical kit, phaser rifle and Hrisal, a curved Andorian sword with a wickedly sharp tip.
Section 03 – IC Character’s Personnel Recorded:
(To be completed. I am writing a story for the character and will post it once it is finished. I mostly wanted to get the application up as it has been sitting on my desktop for weeks. :-))
