Part A: Character Request
.) Character name? St.John Benedict Mountjoy (St.John pronounced Sinjin. Usually referred to by his surname)
.) Character gender? Male
.) Character race? Human (Liberated Borg though at this time he’s not been assimilated yet and so is a regular human). .) Is your character a telepath? (Alien telepath characters are subjected by GM approval) No
.) Character class? Science
.) Character STO level? Lt. Commander
.) Desired In-Character rank? Lieutenant
.) What is your basic character concept & history?
Mountjoy is a scientist, holding a PhD in Cybernetic Intelligence, having minored in Anthropology. The anthropology is used to study biological life to compare it with the development with artificial life. Not natural officer material, his strengths lie more to his scientific knowledge. Can become heavily focused on his work, appearing distracted from other things happening around him. Slightly eccentric at times. After obtaining his PhD and doing some fieldwork and lecturing, Mountjoy joined Starfleet.
He spent a couple of years on starships and in labs. He was granted leave to study ancient ruins on X54-Delta III which suggest artificial and biological life co-existed at some point. His sabbatical was cut short and he was given the choice of being assigned to a lab or to a starship.
Mountjoy’s scientific work has included developing intelligence for both androids and holograms. The Borg are a special point of interest given their cyborg nature. He studied the case of the Enterprise-D’s systems forming a neural net and giving birth to a sentient being.
His father was an archaeologist and his mother an anthropologist. As such he spent much of his early life travelling. His family still maintain an ancient house in Sussex, England although it has rarely been occupied in centuries. His parents, now in their early 60s, lecture at various universities across the Federation although mainly reside on Vulcan.

.) What are strengths, weakness, and flaws in this character’s personality?
Strengths:
Very intelligent, has a quick mind, is curious and quick thinking. Will act in a crisis although can be impulsive. Dedicated to his scientific work.
Flaws: Arrogant, overconfident at times, isn’t natural officer material, easily distracted by his curiousity. Can become heavily focused at times, to the detriment of his non-work related life. Solitary, doesn’t easily let others get close to him.
Section 03 – IC Character’s Personnel Recorded:
(This section must be filled out and will serve as your official personnel Starfleet Record for this character as you play in our fleet. This is the section where you can become creative and illustrate to us the character you want to play in our RP Community. Be as detailed as you can with the character's past service. BE ADVISED: In-Characterly, Fleet Command has access to all your character's files... nothing is **Classified** to them.)
Name: Dr St.John Benedict Mountjoy
Age: 31
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Born: England, Earth
Rank: Lieutenant
Current Assignment: On sabbatical to archaeological dig on X54-Delta III (Now ended). Recalled to active duty. Has requested starship duty and has been instructed to report to 22nd Mobile Fleet for possible assignment.
Early History:
Born on Earth to an archaeologist father and anthropologist mother, Mountjoy’s earliest years were spent travelling to various worlds of scientific interest in between visits to the family home on Earth. Mountjoy was educated by his parents during these years. At the age of thirteen he was sent to a boarding school in England, Earth.
Test results from his time there indicate he excelled at subjects he was interested in, the sciences in particular. Reports indicate he was an indifferent sportsman. His reports also suggest he was a loner, perhaps the result of limited contact with a similar-aged peer group during his earlier years.
At the age of sixteen he attended Cambridge university where he studied robotics, photonic structures, neural networks and biological anthropology. On graduating, he remained at the university as a junior lecturer whilst working on a PhD in Cybernetic Intelligence. At the age of twenty-three he obtained his doctorate and spent a year at the Daystrom Institute and a further year working in the field examining sites believed to be linked to alien cybernetic intelligence. He applied to Starfleet Academy at the age of twenty-five, graduating four years earlier having submitted several papers on photonic life-forms.
Interests:
Music, in particular opera and classical.
Interested in wines, in particular old Earth vintages.
Interested in Earth whisky.
Further interests unknown.
Psychological evaluation:
Reports suggest that Mountjoy’s solitary and at times aloof nature have made it difficult to obtain a full picture regarding him and his temperament. He is extremely competent in his scientific work. There were few disciplinary problems at the academy, other than an infrequent fondness for practical jokes. Not a natural officer and had some early difficulty recognising the chain of command.
Excelled at scientific studies. Passed combat training and rated as competent marksman but far from exceptional.
Brief Career history:
2410: Graduated Academy and assigned to U.S.S. Hotspur, Nova Class. The Hotspur spent six months assigned to the Vega system cataloguing Borg wreckage.
2410-2411: Re-assigned to the U.S.S. Nottingham, Nebula Class. Assigned to the Mutara sector for patrol and exploration duties for eight months.
2411: Assigned to Memory Alpha to work on artificial intelligence systems for cybernetic and photonic beings.
2411: Re-assigned to the U.S.S. Rorke’s Drift, Intrepid Class. Assigned to Gamma Quadrant for exploration duties.
2412: Sabbatical from Starfleet duties approved. Spent eight months on planet X54-Delta III as part of an expedition studying ruins.
2413: Ordered to report to Deep Space Nine for possible assignment to 22nd Mobile Fleet.
