1.) What does the Term "IC-OOC Separation” mean to you?
IC is in character for the character. OOC is out of character. Using OOC knowledge in IC usually entails using info or other things your character may not, or probably shoudln't know which falls under the umbrella of "Metagaming"
2.) What is the difference between the term Player and Character?
The player is essentially the writer of the character. Best kepty as a seperate entity. A challenge many RPers face is learning to separate themselves from their characters.
3.) What is Meta-gaming?
Ah, this question. Meta-gaming. the dilemma. Well basically, the way I understand it, is generally using OOC knowledge IC, doing things your character shouldn't be able to do, other nonsense that is generally out of line.

Generally used IC to separate actions and emotives from open speech.

I suck at it. It's fun, but I get angry and depressed from it.
11.) What difficulty do you typically play Star Trek Online on?
Normal to hard.
12.) Do you understand that all role playing is conducted locally?
Yep.

Part A: Character Request
1.) Character name?
T'Ruri
2.) Character gender?
Female
3.) Character race?

4.) Is your character a telepath? (Alien telepath characters are subjected by GM approval)

7.) Select an fleet entry level rank. (Ensign, Jr Lieutenant, Lieutenant)
Cadet
8.) What is your basic character concept & history?
Young inexperience vulcan, still learning the ways of her people, and travelling about, joining Starfleet to learn about the universe.
9.) What kind of commission does your character have? (Enlisted, Petty Officer, or Officer)
Cadet, hadn't decided on how many years, thought I'd leave that up tot he GMs. Regardless, Pre-commission academy student.zh
10.) Desired ship type of ship you'll be wish to be assigned too? (Tactical, Science, or Cruiser).
cruiser. The Adagio specifically.
11.) Please give a little background about this character.
A basic jist is that T'Ruri is a young vulcan who has decided to defy her family to see the world and learn to understand logic by contact with less logical races and peoples. To understand logic, she wants to understand lack of logic. To her, Starfleet was the most logical choice. It defied everyone in her family, who desired her to remain at the Academy on Vulcan.
12.) Please describe what Merit System is.
I don't remember precisely, but basically, merits and commendations based on service and actions IC. These can lead to promotions and other commendations.
13.) Has this character been enrolled in a fleet prior?
No.
14.) What are your aspirations for this character? Casual RP (I am just here to RP) or Competitive (I want to be an Admiral some day!)
A mix of both. Casual, but i'd like to see her advance, get her commission by finishing up the academy.
15.) What are strengths, weakness, and flaws in this character’s personality?
Section 03 – IC Character’s Personnel Recorded:
Name: T'Ruri
Rank: Cadet
Position: n/a
Gender: Female
Species: Vulcan
Age: 20
Physical Appearance
Height: 5'6''
Weight: 140 lbs.
Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Black
Physical Description
Petite, light framed.
History:
T'Ruri hails from Vulcan and was raised as most Vulcan children are. She had a pet sehlat, and even made a pilgrimage with her parents Sten and Valin to the monastery on P'Jem. This is all pretty standard. However, T'Ruri was an unusually unruly child for a vulcan. While subdued compared to any human child having a tantrum, she often acted out and actively disobeyed the commands of her parents.
However, she came to understand the need for logic after striking a friend in rage as an adolescent. As things came to a head, she finally began to follow a bit better, enrolling in the Vulcan Science Academy. However, she never truly fit in there, not quiet finding herself as capable as her fellows. Even with adequate marks, she was dissatisfied and declared a desire to join Starfleet to her family. Sten and Valin both objected, and even her bondmate Toval questioned her logic. Either way, she believed her logic in itself was sound and rebuffed her family, leaving shortly thereafter for Earth.
As a Vulcan, expectations from her instructors were obvious. Sadly, the sciences did not interest her. Of course, then came the inevitable Martial classes. Even with her small size, she proved a strong hand-to-hand combatant. Her aim with energy and projectile weapons was also well above average, in addition to above average still at the helm. Realizing her own skills, she made a declaration of department. Security. She would defend her fellows. It was only logical.
