Section 01 - Out of Character
Part A: Player Specific Questions
1.) What is your user handle (ex: Nyoko@GolbezLunar)?
@ghost-of-an-Author
2.) What time zone are you in?
PDT. GMT -7
3.) How many hours do you play a week?
Most probably 5+ a week.
4.) What are your typical play times; (Days and Times)?
Most every weekday night. Weekends, it's up in the air.
5.) What is your age?
20
6.) Are you a boy or girl?
Female
7.) Are you an active forum user?
Not really, but I can start trying to use it more if need be.
8.) Do you like to write stories, log entires, or design LCARs jpegs?
I enjoy writing, am more than willing to write up log entries (such as captain's logs... right?), and have no idea what an "LCARs" is.
9.) Are you willing to work with Game Masters as an authority over story lines?
I'm not quite leader and authority material, but I'd be more than happy to help with some ideas/concepts/writing/etc.
10.) Are you subscribed to the Deadalus OOC Channel?
No... I should probably get to doing that.
11.) What kind of subscription do you currently have? (Optional)
Currently one month plus the 30 day free trial - I'll get on a more long-term plan if I feel grounded enough in STO.
12.) How did you hear about us?
From no one in particular. I was just doing research for a fleet to place Sasha in, and Daedalus seemed like a great place to go.
13.) Are you willing and able to put our guild's information in your Character Bio?
If it is necessary.
14.) Do you understand the Activity Policy?
As far as I can tell, yes.
15.) What is the best way to contact you?
Most probably a /tell. Although, yelling "Amy" on the Daedalus OOC Channel may work, too. And, if all else fails, send me in-game mail (if they have it in STO...?).
Part B: Role Playing Experience Questions
1.) What does the Term "IC-OOC Separation" mean to you?
The boundary between the author and creation. Blending the two does not only generally create "meta-gaming" (blending OOC and IC knowledge), but also turns "RP" from "collaborative writing" and into attempting to "live vicariously through an online game".
2.) What is the difference between the term Player and Character?
The "player" (or, as I've taken to calling: "author") is the person sitting behind the screen and writing. The "character" is a creation of the Player - a fictional being that is used as a tool to tell stories.
3.) What is Meta-gaming?
When a Player/Author blends his/her own knowledge with that of his/her own character; more often than not, giving the character knowledge they should not logically have.
4.) What are Action Brackets? ( :: :: | - - | * * | )
I don't typically use them, but I have heard tell: Action Brackets are used to differentiate between the character's actions and what they are saying - the words enclosed in the Action Brackets being the actions.
5.) How long have you been playing Star Trek Online?
Counting the time I've been trying to sap whatever I could out of the demoand failing that miserably (big reason why I got the game): 4 days.
6.) How long have you role played in general?
About a year... But, I wouldn't say I'm very cultured in it. I'm probably what one would still consider a n00b.
7.) What was your last role playing experience?
Champions Online
8.) What are you expectations of this fleet?
Not much aside from a kindly group of fellow writers and Star Trek enthusiasts (I'm still a n00b when it comes to the culture of it all, but I'm enthralled by the universe and am trying to learn more)... And, hopefully, some memorable stories to be created.
9.) What will you bring to this fleet?
Probably not much more than the next person. Although, I think I will let you judge that.
10.) How do you feel about PvP?
I don't particularly mind it... Yet, I seem to have a habit of making better PvE builds.
11.) What difficulty do you typically play Star Trek Online on?
Normal/Casual/I'm not that serious of a gamer.
12.) Do you understand that all role playing is conducted locally?
As far as I can tell, yes.
13.) Do you know how to roll dice on Star Trek Online? (If so, what is the command?)
Considering I just found out you can roll dice on STO, no.
14.) Do you have experience with Star Trek Online Role Play?
None whatsoever.
15.) Do you have alts in other fleets? (If so, which fleet are we sharing you with?)
Nope. This is my first character on STO.

Section 02 - OOC Character Inquiry:
Part A: Character Request
1.) Character name?
Aleksandra "Sasha" Yevgeniyeva Novikova
2.) Character gender?
Female
3.) Character race?
Human - Russian
4.) Is your character a telepath?
No.
5.) Character class?
Tactical
6.) Character STO level?
Ensign 1 (I had to recreate her twice after some technical difficulties with the download. Long story short, let's hope third time's a charm.)
7.) Select a fleet entry level rank. (Ensign, Jr. Lieutenant, Lieutenant)
To be honest, I think I'll leave this one to the GMs' whims.
8.) What is your basic character concept & history?
Sister to someone who died in a Borg attack. Sasha blames herself for being unable to save her. Sasha laughs and is jovial all the same... It's just now she's a little bit what one would call "Mother Hen" when it comes to crew and friends.
9.) What kind of commission does your character have?
Junior Officer. Communications
10.) Desired ship type you wish to be asigned to? (Tactical, Science, or Cruiser?)
Tactical or Cruiser.
11.) Please give a little background about this character.
She's an avid linguist, both Earth languages and alien languages alike. A keen ear and uncanny focus aid her in understanding and learning languages, but also gave her a love of music. Sasha's love of language and music is only rivaled by the care she has for loved ones.
12.) Please describe what Merit System is.
As far as I know, it's a point system that rewards players when they complete missions and such.
13.) Has this character been enrolled in a fleet prior?
Nope.
14.) What are your aspirations for this character? Casual RP (I am just here to RP) or Competitive (I want to be an Admiral some day!)?
Casual RP.
15.) What are strengths, weaknesses, and flaws in this character's personality?
The loss of her sister is still fresh, so most mentions of family will rend her quiet. Out of fear of letting someone down like she feels she did to her sister, Sasha has a near suicidal protectiveness over her crew and friends. So, she pushes herself hard out of guilt and regret, and in desperate hopes that she will be happy once more. Also, the drive she has to keep even command a starship was only fueled by a superior officer's rather terse words - working herself this hard is going to eat her alive at one point or another. Everything that she's kept in mind has been all "duty", and "should"s, discounting for her own personal feelings on things; the prospect of heading out for a fun night at the bar seems as far away as Andromeda.
