EST
3.) How many hours do you play a week?
Varies 12hrs a week +/- depending on RL

8.) Do you like to write Stories, Log Entries or Design LCARs jpegs?
Love to write, stories, log entries, you name it. I'm an aspiring author so writing in RP settings is good exercise, so to speak. I have the visual artistic capability of a tribble, though. I hear I draw a mean stick figure, though!
9.) Are you willing to work with Game Masters as an authority over storylines?
Sure!
10.) Are you subscribed to the Daedalus OOC Channel?
Not as yet, but soon.

15.) What is the best way to contact you?
I can be reached via forum PM here, in game tells & mail or MSN, if the officers would like. I usually keep it running in the background while I work.
Part B: Role Playing Experience Questions
1.) What does the Term "IC-OOC Separation” mean to you?
That is the first time I've seen this question asked for an RP guild / community. I dig it.
IC/OOC Separation is just that, the distinct line in the sand between the real world and that which happens in character. Nae should the two ever intertwine.
2.) What is the difference between the term Player and Character?
Player is the individual sitting at the keyboard drinking too much Soda and munching on cheetos. The character is the dashing good looking officer braving the final frontier on the bridge of an imaginary starship.
3.) What is Meta-gaming?
The use of information obtained out of character for in-character gains or actions. I.e. if I were to learn that Billy would be at the Too Soon Saloon at Noon for his weekly drink and passing that info onto my character. Sadly, this is all too common in some game venues. It drives me crazy.
4.) What are Action Brackets? (:: :: | - - |* *| )
The hand waving 'HEY LOOK HERE!' that GMs use in an online setting to denote story advancement text. Though I did see this used once last week at a friend's table top game. two print outs of huge asterisks taped to wooden rulers that he waved about.
5.) How long have you been playing Star Trek Online?
100 days, or there abouts. Just got my Alternate timeline commbadge reward. It's shiny.
6.) How long have you role played in general?
Since 2004
*cracks knuckles*
My RP resume is as follows: SWG, EQ2, WoW, TR, back to SWG. I part time in SWG and WoW both. I played the XO of a military unit in Tabula Rasa, the 131st Hellhounds. I worked with the Devs and Richard Garriot to make the DE Day event an in game reality on the RP server, Cassiopeia. I was the Co-MC of the event, along with another player.
7.) What was your last role playing experience?
Last? I haven't stopped RPing since 04.
8.) What are your expectations of this fleet?
role play with like minded RPers, telling solid believable stories. Plus, I really dig military themes in my RP.
9.) What will you bring to this fleet?
A competent role player & gamer who has also been a guild / clan leader in a multitude of video game genres. I'm also well versed in Star Trek lore. You can blame my father for that one, by the way.
10.) How do you feel about PVP?
Love. It. My first online gaming experience was in Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force. I Co-Lead my first clan there (SFI) Starfleet Intelligence- Delta Section). Went on to lead some tournament winning clans as well. As for PvP in general? I dig it. I love online team sports, and I love tinkering my build. I admit, I'm a competitive sob.
11.) What difficulty do you typically play Star Trek Online on? Advanced. It's that competitive streak in me.
12.) Do you understand that all role playing is conducted locally?
I do, and I dig this.
13.) Do you know how to roll dice on Star Trek Online? (If so what is the command?)
I think it's /em dice I think I've only had to use it once or twice in game.
14.) Do you have experience with Star Trek Role Play?
I do indeed. See next question.
15.) Do you have alts in other fleets? (If so which fleet are we sharing you with?)
My Vice Admiral level character is the guild leader for a fleet of friends that come from varying games and associations. I know the majority of them on a first name basis. Most have stopped playing for one reason or another, but I keep the fleet around so I won't be leaving anyone without a home when they get around to logging in. Fleet name is Task Force Delta, a bit of homage to the FPS clan I mentioned. This character I've made for this application will most likely, become my new main. The character Corris Sprint is also available to any guildies who need a Defiant to come help them with a mission or other forms of OOC game play.
Section 02 – OOC Character Inquiry:
(All these questions are to be answered as player about the character you wish to play. It is best that you review daedalusomega.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rphandbook before answering.)
Part A: Character Request
1.) Character name?
Michael Alex Scott
2.) Character gender?
Male
3.) Character race?
Human
4.) Is your character a telepath? (Alien telepath characters are subjected by GM approval)
Nope.
5.) Character class?
I figured I'd give Engineer a try, since Corris is a tactical.
6.) Character STO level?
Lieutenant 2, as of last night.
7.) Select an fleet entry level rank. (Ensign, Jr Lieutenant, Lieutenant)
Ummm, I'll roll high here and say Lieutenant. That said, if you tell me I'm an Ensign the response is 'Aye, sir.'
8.) What is your basic character concept & history?
Mike's a bit of an over achiever. Son of a mechanic and a nurse, he grew up in Tacoma Washington. He and his father don't get along, as the old man is 'Meh' about Starfleet's duties and roles due to the Dominion War and following reconstruction. Mike looked up to his uncle, who is a vet, now retired.
9.) What kind of commission does your character have? (Enlisted, Petty Officer, or Officer)
Officer, four years at the academy. Average grades, he wasn't the best, wasn't the worst.
10.) Desired ship type of ship you'll be wish to be assigned too? (Tactical, Science, or Cruiser).
Cruiser
11.) Please give a little background about this character.
As noted above, Mike grew up with a father who dislikes Starfleet and a mother who often said 'follow your heart.' He was influenced by his Uncle's tales of adventure, excitement and some bootleg pictures of Orion Slave girls. He worked as a mechanic in his old man's garage until they had their last blow out. Mike took his high school transcripts to the Academy and was admitted. Barely.
Mike built on his love for machines that he developed with his old man to the next level and started focusing on Engineering classes at the Academy. However, that changed during his first shipboard tour aboard the USS Revere. He put in for a transfer to the command track and took the required courses during his off hours aboard ship.
12.) Please describe what Merit System is.
Uniform and impersonal employment and advancement policy based on evaluation of abilities and achievements, instead of on favoritism or politics.
In short, the way things should be.
13.) Has this character been enrolled in a fleet prior?
Nope, brand spanking new just for you. Literally. I deleted an alt when Shallya told me about the guild. I read over the website and figured why not
14.) What are your aspirations for this character? Casual RP (I am just here to RP) or Competitive (I want to be an Admiral some day!)
Role play. I'm not going to say casual or define a goal, because that's an OOC motivation. I plan to play the character as per the character sheet that I'm writing up. Whatever happens to him while in the service of this fleet is what happens. I'm a big believer in ICA = ICC. If he works his way up the ranks, great. If he's court marshaled and blown out an airlock, I can rename him.
15.) What are strengths, weakness, and flaws in this character’s personality?
He's a 34 year old male in Starfleet. He is not the best, the brightest or the most capable. He has no 'I win' button. He's good with machines and he's just starting out on the command track after serving as department head in Revere's Engineering section and later her Primary Conn officer. (Was required before being XO qualified).
Mike is overly critical of himself and his accomplishments. It's never enough to be a Starfleet Officer, he wants to do great things. He's a perfectionist, so sleepless nights and a missed meal are normal for him. The problem is he expects the same from other people. I believe he had a CO tell him once to 'Tone it down a notch.'
Medical Officers would find that while Mike isn't the stand offish 'No really it's just a punctured Kidney, I'll walk it off' bad ass, he does value his time. He has a respect for Doctors though, whom he sees as akin to Engineers. The body is just an organic machine, after all. I believe that line of thinking comes from his mother's influence.
Section 03 – IC Character’s Personnel Recorded:
Name: Michael Alex Scott
Rank: Lieutenant
Position: Operations Manager
Posting: U.S.S. Dauntless NCC-99465
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Age: 34
Physical Appearance
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 195 lbs.
Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Blond
Physical Description
Michael has an average yet athletic build which he maintains with regular exercise, via free weights, jogging, and boxing.
General Overview
Mike is a driven man, bound by a sense of honor to the oath he took to the Federation upon graduation from the Academy. However, more than that he has a personal need to succeed in his chosen career path, having traced his family service back as far as pre-Federation Starfleet. The one point of contention for Mike, is that his father detests Starfleet. Mike is determined to make up for his father's negative opinions.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Mike's greatest strength is his pride: Mike is a perfectionist, expecting nothing but the utmost from himself, and those he serves with. As a department leader aboard the USS Dauntless, Engineering set the efficiency standard aboard ship, making the 'above and beyond' the standard for her Engineering section.
His greatest weakness: His pride. Mike is a perfectionist and highly competitive in his chosen fields of interest. He expects perfection and high standards from not only himself, but those with whom he serves. This can make him difficult to work with.
Hobbies & Interests
"Anything fast enough to do something stupid in." was his motto as a teenager. Having worked on Hovercars and hovercycle as a kid, he learned to maintain and in two cases, rebuild classic cars and hovercars, such as his mint condition 2270 Jupiter 8. The vehicle is stored in his mother's garage in New Tycho City, Luna. As an extension of this, Mike enjoys flying, be it a ShuttleBee, or a Delta-flyer class heavy shuttle.
Mike also takes an active interest in Boxing, taking time when he can on the Holodeck to keep his right hook sharp, and spar with long dead heavy weights.

History
Academy
Mr. Scott found himself applying to the Academy in time for the beginning of classes in 2398. Mr. Scott's class work was in some cases sub-par his first semester at the Academy. He required a tutor in Astrophysics and Warp-field theory to maintain his enrollment. 2nd Semester of his freshman year found Mr. Scott's performance to be a stark improvement. Mr. Scott's Academy years are considered uneventful for the most part.
The only noteworthy event which took place was the 2401 Mayweather Shuttle Derby. During the second leg of the race, a system's failure aboard fellow Cadet Chase's shuttle resulted in a collision which almost claimed the lives of both Cadets. The pair were stranded on an L-Class planet for two weeks with minimal provisions. Upon rescue, the Cadets both received a commendation in their official records for their excellent use of their survival skills.
it is rumored that Lt. Scott to this day claims that the accident was due to 'Pilot error' on Dr. Chase's part. However he has denied this in public. Some just think he's afraid to say it to her face.
Starfleet
Graduation and initial posting from the Academy did not meet Mr. Scott's expectations.
2402 - Graduates Starfleet Academy. Posted to Junior technician at Jupiter Station.
2406 - U.S.S. Kelvin, Engineering team.
2408 - U.S.S. Revere - Assistant Chief Engineer
2409 - U.S.S. Revere - Chief Engineer. Field promotion after the combat loss of predecessor.
2410 - U.S.S. Dauntless NCC-99465 - Chief Engineer, began course work for shift to Command track. Endorsed by Commanding Officer, Capt. Corris Sprint. Cited commendation for gallantry for sacrificing himself to save two members of an away team from Borg Drones. Acted as 'bait' to lure drones from injured team mate and caregiver.
2412 - U.S.S. Dauntless NCC-99465 - Operations Manager & Second Officer.
2413 - U.S.S. Dauntless NCC-99465. Formal reprimand placed on file, denied rank advancement. Mr. Scott initiated a physical altercation with a fellow Starfleet Officer in a civilian establishment. Resulted in medical treatment for several combatants and personal property damage.
2413 - Assignment to 22nd Mobile Fleet under review.
Commanding Officer's note:
"Lt. Scott has been a valuable addition to the Dauntless. His drive to succeed has been an asset in this ship's deployments. I'm sorry to see him go, even if Engineering is throwing a post reassignment going away party." - Corris Sprint, Capt. U.S.S. Dauntless
