From: Lt. 4th Grade Alexander Cargill Fury
To: Commanding Flag Officer, Daedalus Omega Fleet
CC: Admiral Quinn Sol System Defense, Star Fleet Chief of Operations
Sub: Transfer request
Per recommendation of my commanding flag officer, I am requesting reassignment to the Daedalus Omega Fleet. Adm. Quinn has informed me that Starfleet Command is assigning some of the most intense and mission critical assignments to this fleet and I of course want to be on the front lines. If I am to join I must be up front and sincere. I have a history that includes some baggage; I make no apologies for my actions in the past and the actions I may execute in the name of Federation in the future. I am attaching a full copy of my personnel record to this request. I await your response.
Starfleet, Sol System Command
Office of Admiral Quinn
Records Division
Per request is a copy of the personnel record for on Lt. 4th Grade Alexander Cargill Fury.
Name: Fury, Alexander Cargill
Serial number: 982312B
Rank: Lt. Grade 4
Assignment: Commanding Officer, U.S.S. Relentless
Age: 25
Species: Homo Sapiens
D.O.B.: January, 23 2384
Place of Birth: Barson II
Height: 6’1
Weight: 230
History:
Born on Barson II Cargill as he has strongly let it be known he prefers, grew up to a destitute mother. His father abandoned them to pursue a life of crime in the local Syndicate branch. While Cargill grew up in the rough streets of Barson he was exceptionally gifted in studies. But his natural gifts were overshadowed by his fierce independence and egocentric view of the universe. He passed qualifying exams and entered Starfleet academy at the age of 16. While scoring high in all area of studies his strong leanings were toward strategy and tactics.
He even wrote his thesis on the “Battle of the Mutarah Nebula” making several valid arguments for and against Adm. James T. Kirk’s tactics during the engagement. On the opposite side, Cadet Fury was reprimanded no less the 10 times for disorderly conduct and physical violence against fellow cadets. Upon graduation Cargill was assigned to the U.S.S. Exodus, where he promptly engaged in a holodeck battle with a fellow crewman, injuring him most grievously.
He was charged with gross misconduct and taken into custody. He was transferred to the U.S.S. Relentless to be transferred to the nearest Star base for court martial when the ship was ordered to respond to a Borg incursion. After the death of Capt. Rogan and most of the senior staff the most ranking officer left was Cargill Fury. He escaped the brig and promptly took command, helping to shatter the Borg Cube and led a strike team to repel the Borg attacking a Federation Colony.
For his actions Admiral Quinn gave Cargill the field command of the Relentless.
Since that time over a month ago, Fury has led several successful missions handed to him by Adm. Quinn including distinguishing himself in the “Siege of Star base 24”, driving the Orions from a mining colony and protecting the Sirius Sector Block from a Klingon Imperial strike fleet.
Addendum as Penned by Admiral Quinn:
Cargill Fury is not the model Starfleet officer, he is violent, unpredictable, and slightly sociopathic. I watched his progress through the academy with a keen eye. More than once did he nearly get expelled for his views and actions.
Never the less it is my firm belief, that in this most dire of times for the Federation, do we need men like Fury. First contact, and exploration are not his forte, he has stated that his sole reason for joining Starfleet was to destroy the enemies of the Federation. He is not perfect, but he is a warrior and times such as these demand warriors not explorers .
