General Overview
Anna is a sweet yet commanding soul. She knows when to let her personality drive her actions and when to let the rules outweigh her thinking. The one thing she will never sacrifice however is her belief in herself, in the truth, and in the noble duty of defending those who can not defend themselves.

History
Childhood
Anna grew up on Earth near San Francisco where her father worked as an instructor for the academy. He was a Medical Officer and before Anna was born he was the Chief Medical Officer aboard several prestigious star ships but once Anna was born he had to give all that up. When Anna was growing up her and her father had a great relationship, he was always pushing her to get ready for the academy, and she didn't mind.... at first. It was her dream too, but their relationship became strained in her teen years. Anna was so determined to head back to Trill and complete her studies and requirements for the program... she wanted to be implanted. That's when she could see that her father blamed her for basically halting his career. Although he’d never say it in so many words. They got into a small fight and things never really mended until after she got accepted into the academy. Her father couldn't have been happier for her. She had to put off being chosen as a host candidate for atleast a year but once she was in the academy her entire life's goals were about graduating and implanting. Two things she worked day and night on. Once she was in the academy she couldn't help but see her father everyday. Which helped mend their relationship but in the end it also helped end it.
Academy
Anna entered the academy with high marks in many categories but never grew fond of the science aspects of many of the intricate programs. She loved space and loved the wonders but she didn't enjoy the actual field of making her specialty Science. She wasn't going to follow in her father's footsteps and in all honesty she didn't think she could become a doctor. Cutting people open didn't interest her. The two things she really enjoyed when she got to the academy were Diplomacy and self defense classes. She was torn through most of her time in the academy between becoming a diplomatic officer or joining the security department but in her third year she made her decision. Security it was. She would be able to help others, the reason she joined Star Fleet and in her spare time she could always become a diplomat when she was a captain. It was settled. The rest of her Academy experience was fun and exciting. She learned new things every day and being in the academy itself, the accomplishment, the prestige, she loved being there. That all changed in her fourth and final year when her father caught her making out with another student in her final semester. He wasn’t a very happy person and when he believed she was doing something wrong and something that would ruin his idea of her future and he made it known. He wasn't very understanding to say the least, and he hated her for her choice. She didn't understand why he hated it, but he did, and vigorously too. He didn't speak or acknowledge her presence at the academy, not even at her graduation. Making her idea of her future and what she wanted all the more clear; she couldn't wait to leave. Then there was her mother. Her mother who didn't seem to care about her choices, but not caring isn't understanding.
Starfleet
Once she had a fresh start away from all the drama of her final year at the academy she took a posting on a ship exploring the outer reaches of the galaxy, getting as far away from her family as she possibly could. Ensign Anna Baker security officer aboard the USS Alliance. That was her position and rank. It was a year long posting. While this experience was new it was still so perfect for her. The things she saw were so unique. She got to witness many new species and anomalies she had never been able to find on Earth, especially not first hand, but many bad things as well. The way people treated each other across the galaxy deeply disturbed her. After her year was up on the deep space exploration aboard the Alliance she transferred to the USS Roswell. With her eyes finally on the prize while the Roswell made a last minute stop she had already made plans, cleared schedules and was on her way to Trill for what she had always wanted, to finally be implanted with a trill symbiont of her own. After the process, she did change, not completely but in little ways. There she was cited for valor, twice, but also she was cited for contempt. It was an off on relationship with her on the Roswell. It just didn't fit like her first assignment so she requested a transfer a couple month's before her tour aboard was going to end and was accepted to one of the fleets finest vessels, the USS Gemini. A dream job for any new and rising star in the fleet. This is the ship that gave her a chance to express and experience her command ability by placing her second in command of her department. She held that position and made many friends onboard the ship, staying aboard for a full two years. She was reluctant to leave but her superior was never going to give up her position and there was no way to rise. So with a heavy heart she left and perused her career goals onboard her next ship. Earning both a new rank and higher position, a senior staff position after her faithful, loyal and hard working years of service. She was rising faster and faster. Deep down she loved that, but that all changed drastically. As Chief Security and Tactical Officer aboard the USS Feredai she finally found her calling, command. Finally close enough to see the inner workings of the senior staff and her own passion for success and advancement she fought worked tirelessly toward her next goal. Executive Officer.

Alicia Baker a distinguished Trill Admiral. One of the firsts.
Alicia was born in 2133 on the Trill Homeworld. Her parents Toran and Sara were both Trill who were never joined. Toran, her father, was a member of the Trill ruling council and her mother Sara was an Ambassador. When Alicia was little her mother was tasked with the job of taking over as Ambassador for the Vulcan people which kept her away from the Trill Homeworld for weeks on end. This left Alicia to fend for herself alot of the time when her parents were off maintaining there respective jobs. This only strengthened Alicia's character and drive to do her best to impress and make them see her. Sadly it also left her to feel alone and unwanted which made her retreat into a shell with contact with most people. This made her shy and timid but also gave her time to spend studying and advancing her knowledge on the world around her. She was driven to be the first person in her family to be joined with a symbiont. The most honorable and challenging a goal there is for a Trill to attain. It would make her parents proud, and it's what she wanted.
She managed to enter the Trill Science Academy at the age of sixteen due to both her Father's influence, parent's status, and her own drive and intelligence. While there she studied astrophysics along side some of her peoples most notable scientists. She learned more in one year than she had in her entire lifetime. It was an eye opening and very fruitful experience for her. After being both student and assistant for two years at the most prestigious of all Trill science academies she was influenced by those around her. Nearly half of the people she met every day were joined, and not one of them was unhappy. She wanted that for herself.
When Alicia was only eighteen years old she was so impatient. She wanted more than anything to be joined but her parents told her to wait. That she wasn't ready. She of course disagreed and nearly applied on her own before her mother gave her another option. She had heard of a race known has humans who were explorers. She said they would soon become a powerful force in the galaxy. In all her time she had seen no other race advancing so fast. Soon to her mother was years... She said it would lead to the spark of a unity that the universe hadn't ever seen before, and that she should apply for something known as Star Fleet. Her mother got her a recommendation from an Admiral who got it from a Vulcan Ambassador. Her mother was connected.
At the time she was reluctant, but her mother was very persuasive, and did want to please her. So she did, and easily passed the entrance examination. She was shocked by the way most of the humans acted but grew to accommodate it. She spent all of her time either in class, doing research for her professors, or studying. She received two degrees. One in Astrophysics, and another in Exoarchaeology. She was commissioned as Lt jg. and as a Science Officer. After finishing her courses she went back to Trill before taking her first assignment. She was Twenty Two. She applied to the Trill Symbiosis Commission and was accepted into the program. Her parents were thrilled but her excitement was even greater, still hidden away inside of her.
After a vigorous and almost too difficult of a process she was chosen for joining by Talon Baker, a symbiont on the edge of death. A symbiont who had two hosts previous to the his current one. His first host was a member of the Trill ruling council, similar to her father. The second host was leader in the field of Science. And the third and current was an Ambassador who had delegated many treaties for the Trill Homeworld. It was an honor to be just in his presence, a shocking honor, which Alicia was almost speechless too. Somehow she had managed to impress him. Or maybe he knew her father or her mother? She didn't know but he chose her. There joining was strange yet peaceful.
Afterwards she showed signs of changing. She was no longer the shy scientist who wanted to explore from a laboratory, Alicia. She was now Alicia Baker, a girl who was cheerful and epervesant, who wanted to command a starship, meet knew races, do more than she had ever dreamed of. When she reported for duty for her first assignment aboard the USS Wildcat she was surprised how at place everything felt to her. In her first week aboard she even managed to get the captain to sit down with her and have a few drinks. Her ways at being tactful increased tenfold as a joined Trill. Within a year she was the Assistant Chief Science Officer. A year later she was the Chief Science Officer. While others moved off for bigger and more advanced ships she stayed onboard the Wildcat increasing in position and rank.
When she was 26 and the ship was being decommissioned for a newer design the Captain asked her if she would join him as his Executive Officer onboard the USS Tarahawk. She accepted without thought. There relationship was stronger more than ever and she was happier than she had ever been back on Trill as "Alicia". She was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. As the Executive Officer/Chief Science Officer onboard the Tarahawk she came to love the feeling of being in command and being where the action was. That didn't change. Not even after the Captain and several key officer's were killed a year later against the Romulans during the last battle of the Earth-Romulan War. She managed to get the ship out of danger long enough for a rescue party to tow them back to Earth. So much for a superior ship... With her closest friend dead, the only Captain she had ever had, and the man who was responsible for her rank and position dead... she was very distraught and even went back to Trill for a month as a treaty between the Romulans was being signed. Her parents were just happy she was still alive.
Back on duty she was promoted for saving her ship, she didn't know why, and she didn't think she deserved it. Her next assignment she served under a man who didn't tolerate her. She herself was a bit strange and unusual at times, and even though Star Fleet was supposed to be exploring to meet strange new life. This captain would've liked it if it wasn't on his bridge. So she requested a transfer back to Earth where she began studying and researching space and the world above for a few years. She put in for command three times but each time she was looked over. Most likely because she was a Trill... but that wasn't the only reason and she knew it. On the outside she was 29. On the inside she was 99. A fact that Starfleet Command no doubt being snoopy was aware of.
She applied one final time and was once more turned down, so she remained at Star Fleet headquarters where she furthered her degrees and discovered many exciting scientific things. A couple weeks after she applied for Command Starfleet Command contacted her. One of the Captain's who was going to be commanding an older class vessel the USS Explorer was going to be unable to take command. They offered, and she accepted. She enjoyed the Nx Class. The Daedalus class just brought back bad memories. A week before her 30th birthday no less, well her 124th birthday. What better a present?
From that point on her career soared. She was promoted to Captain within five years of taking command. She served the ship proud in during her five year mission and was presented with her new set of pips and new ship when she returned home a leading example to all that drive and determination can make things happen. Her mission was a success and a variety of new maps towards the no longer delphic expanse lead to many more future expeditions, while she was allowed a ship of her choosing. She was eventually Appointed the Chief Of Staff, granted the rank of Fleet Captain and later appointed the TF2XO. She went on to be one of the first Trill Admirals in Starfleet.
