P'Tal Sat in her quarters playing her bass guitar when her comm. beeped. With bass slung low she reached over and opened the comm. A sturn looking human woman with gr eying hair and a sharp uniform greeted her. "Captain Morgan, It's good to see your doing well". "Thank you admiral, it's nice to see you to. I assume this isn't a social comm" P'tal said warmly. The conversation went on for a few mins. then a file was sent to P'Tal. "P'Tal, I'm sure you understand. With resent events and growing threat levels, I think it's the best assignment for you". With a nod P'Tal opened the file and the comm. was closed. Not coming as a surprise to her it was a transfer request. She knew Why she had been given it and what she was expected to do. She took off her bass and set it on it's stand and started filling out the transfer. As she filled out the request she knew that if accepted she would be in the same fleet with the human she had almost been courtmartialed trying to keep same. She also knows that this same human would probably just as soon push her out an airlock if she could. The method P'Tal was forced to use had left her with emotions she had worked her life dealing with. Visions from this human's mind had been racing through hers since that day on DS9. P'Tal had no illusions that this would be an uneasy assignment if it went through. While her record stood for it's self and color full as it was, she had been a ship captain. With the dismantling of her former fleet and her last assignment with Star fleet intell she was ready for a more normal assignment. After finishing the transfer request P'Tal sent it off.

Born and raised on the mining colony of Neo Prime. P'Tal's childhood was like the other kids on the colony, for the most part. Her parents were both star fleet scientists and being the only Vulcan kid was a little different. P'Tal's parents raised her to have control over her emotions and follow traditional Vulcan ways. Knowing that she would have to fit in to be accepted by traditional Vulcans she was instructed in Vulcan ways. Seeing her interact with others her age P'Tal noticed that her Vulcan stoics was all but crippling there race. Realizing the logic that a race must evolve and continue to grow or it will grow stagnant and wither away, she decided to test this logic. P'Tal started studying the way humans adapted to changing situations and decided that Vulcan logic was mealy the beginning, not the all inclusive of knowledge. After she had studied the human reactions and interactions, discovered patterns in the seeming Caos of human behavior. Her studies seemed to show the less logical races had a better chance of advancement as a culture. P'Tal began interacting with the humans on there cultural level and began to act more human then Vulcan. This disturbed her parents and they reacted in the logical way Vulcan's are known for. P'Tal was isolated from the humans as much as possible and her studies were intensified in an attempt to remove the taint she was seen as having. Her parents had intended to help her advance in the Vulcan ways, she saw it in a different way. To P'Tal she was being punished for her studies, not aided in her education. P'Tal began to resist her Vulcan nature and training. When P'Tal was 15 her parents were returning from a routine supply run when there shuttle craft had an energy surge in it's engines. The resulting crash killed both her parents and there best friends took her in. It was her parents wishes that if something happened to them that the human friends would raise her as there own. All the proper custody forms were (as normal) filled out in advance and approved by star fleet. When Vulcan received word of there deaths they sent a group to bring the child to Vulcan to continue her education. When P'Tall was introduced to them what they found was illogical. A Vulcan teen that more resembled a human then a Vulcan. She was clearly displaying emotions, but also displayed graight logic in her thought pattens. Logic did not rule her actions, it seemed to guide them. The emotions she displayed seemed to give her emotional strength and when they learned she did not go through the normal "emotional episodes" that young Vulcans do they were fascinated. It was decided by the Vulcans that she was in fact untrainable by the Vulcan System. For P'Tal this rejection was the last insult and she began to distance herself from her Vulcanism. Her adopted parents aided her controlling her emotions as a human and she found the acceptance she always wanted. P'Tal would poor over data about star ships and ship modifications for hours with her friends taking in everything from space frame to power flow. She was the head of the school's science club and not just because she was Vulcan. She was not however emuned to the occasional exploit with star fleet equipment however. When she was 17 she reconfigured a shuttle craft to gain maximum speed and handling, with the addition of an extra set of impulse engines. The design modifications were so successful the SF Commander decided to keep the shuttle as it was, with the agreement that no other "modifications" would be made without his permission. She was Made an acting Ensign at the colony that helped lead to her acceptance into Star fleet Academy. The Vulcan Science Council's recommendation did not hurt ether. It was decided it would be best if she was someplace the Vulcans could keep an eye on her, like Star fleet. As an Academy Cadet Morgan impressed her Engineering instructor with her practical knowledge in engineering, something he found refreshing from a Vulcan. It was no secret P'Tal was not a normal Vulcan and a rumor was started (and soon crushed) that she was a romulan. She discovered who started the rumor and "discussed" the matter with the other cadet, no charges were filed. Most of the Vulcan cadets had difficulties relating to her and she was all but shunned by them. Not having grown up with Vulcans she wasn't bothered by the treatment of the other Vulcan cadets, it helped to strengthen her connection with the other students. By the time P'Tal took the Kobayashi Maru test she was already known for her unorthodox tactics. Rather then rush head long into the neutral zone she did a very Vulcan thing (to do the unexpected), she sent a message to SF command asking for instructions. When the klingons arrived to attack the Federation ship she used the sensor array to try to make it appear as though a larger Star fleet task force was on its way. In the end the Kobayashi Maru was destroyed but Star fleet received a full transmission of the events. She destroyed her ship rather then allow the Klingons to take it. The explosion damaged three Klingon ships and destroyed one. She never entered the neutral zone under her ships power. After graduating Star fleet Academy she was asked to stay on as an aid to the Engineering Professor. Personal log, Ensign Morgan, P'Tal. The campus is uneasy about the fighting going on. Everyone seems to feel something in the air now days. Word is Star base 24 was attacked by the Klingons but we don't know anything for sure. The profs are on edge and the academy ships crew is doing drills like crazy. Even in the engineering department things are touchy. The advanced students are working hard on some project not even the Commander knows everything about. By the looks of it I'd say it's some new ship component, prob an upgraded weapon. The normal hazing of first freshmen isn't going on like it normally does. I even watched a senior helping a freshman with her studies. Not to odd except it was cadet Moron Normro, what a sludgeworm. I had yet another drek head call me a romulan again today. Last week someone even posted my face with the romulan symbol and a line crossing it out on my door. Well, this time my roommate talked me out of putting them in the hospital. Pause log. Well, it looks like I got what I wanted, command of a star ship. I'm going to miss the academy and even that rattletrap ship *chuckles softly*. Although I have no idea what ship I'll get or even what type at this point I really don't care. She'll be the best ship out there, at least when I'm done with her. That's what Doc tells me anyway *laughter*. Oh, I'm going to miss that scruff ball. I wonder how things are back home. They must have gotten the first of the ice falls by now, did they fix the Shields yet? The Commandant gave me a box and made me swear not to open it until I took command and only in my privet quarters. *a minute of silence* (Sad voice) I wonder what mother and father would say about me now? Probably how I'm waisting my abilities like I always have. How I'll always be a disgrace to Vulcan. Well, at least mom and dad are proud of me joining Star fleet. End log.
Service Record, Captain Morgan, P'Tal Species: Vulcan Sex: Female Age: 34 Date of birth: 2375 Place of Birth: Neo Prime (Mining Colony, Federation Space near Romulan Space) Hight: 5'6" Weight: 120 lbs ------------------------------ Current Assignment: Star Base One, Sol System; Engineering Star Fleet Intelligence Career History: Acting Ensign on Neo Prime Star base. Graduated Star fleet Academy in 2397. Assigned to U.S.S. Republic-C where she took command, after the command crew became unfit for duity (Classified). Was transfered to an expeditionary fleet were she was wounded numerous times in the line of duity. Temporarily relieved of command after taking part in a medical experiment (Overturned do to extenuating evidence). Served on Deep Space Nine as an engineer (Classified). Awarded the medal of Valor for actions taken while on assignment at DS9 (Classified). (Personal note, Admiral Poll Star fleet Intel: Captain Morgan is a dedicated officer, if not the standard Vulcan. Her emotions resemble that of humans and can be harder to read. This makes her the perfect match for determining what a Romulan might do, though I'd wouldn't tell her that. Vulcan logic has the uncanny ability to excape her, do to her childhood. Her nanites give her a faster healing rate and suppress most uncontrolled emotional outbursts. I must say it was an interesting approach to halting and fighting the spread of Borg nanites in a fellow officer, saving his and his simbiots life.)
