I might need to add myself to this list. I'm not sure when I'll be here or when I'll be Out... but I'm going to be Moving this coming weekend. I might still make Okinami, but I might well be OUT for Adagio. It e\won't be THAT long, it's just something I should mention really.

ok. some good news... and some bad news.
Florida was pretty much spared anything distructive from this hurricaine. we had alittle rain, some wind, but nothing we're not used to. Thats the good news.
Bad news... I am part of the NIMS/FEMA National Emergency Response Taskforce. Basically, If there is a major emergency disaster, FEMA and or NIMS can ask us to go to the area to help as needed. Most Firefighters around the country and pretty much everyone in my department is part of this.
This morning we got a call from the Chief and asked our station to send 1 ambulance and 1 firetruck to North Carolina and any other East coast areas that may get hit hard from this. We were told to expect to also go to Virginia, New Jersey, and Maryland coastal regions. Heavy flooding is expected. Also, we were told to expect this to take upwards of 2 to 3 weeks, depending on the level of need these areas have. This is standard stuff during hurricaines, floods, earthquakes, and tornadoes.
Irene has recently been downgraded to a Category 1 hurricaine, which means her winds are not as powerful as before, but she still carries huge amounts of moisture and rain that can devastate the areas its headed for now. She's still very dangerous.
so....
I am leaving with 6 other firefighters from my department in about 3 hours. This means i am going to miss Monday's Indy Event, and may be absent for at most 3 weeks. Maybe sooner depending on the situation. If noone is hit hard... We come home early.
I am going to need someone to take over GMing of the Indy until my return, and if an Admiral-type Character is needed for Fleet Admin RP, Nyoko or each ship's GM can temporarily use a GM controlled Admiral for the task.
I wont have any access to a computer. My wife and daughter are going back to Palm Beach County to stay with my mom untill i get back.
I will be checking this thread and my PMs repeatedly for 3 more hours. But i have to absolutely leave at 12pm. Any questions, comments, and concerns must be said within that time.

For those who care, I'm fine (I live in North Carolina). Lost power from about 6 am to 5:30 pm, internet was out until around 8 pm. Aside from some branches down in the yard, my house is fine. Other places weren't so lucky though. The mall has a huge hole in the roof where the skylight used to be, and there's damage in other places as well. Brian, I doubt I'll see you, but I'll wave at Florida Ambulance and Firetruck I see.

Hi all!!! ;D
I'm using a fellow firefighter's IPhone. We're currently in Vermont at our staging area having breakfast.
I hope everyone is ok and doing well.
As for me, I spent about a little over a day in North Carolina, before they sent us to Vermont. We've been here ever since. Flooding is pretty bad (not as bad as Katrina mind you, but it's still bad), roads are all torn up, 1,000s of people are homeless and in shelters. We're doing our best to help these people as much as we can. I heard that at least 20 people died during this storm.
I'm ok. Hot... Very hot! But ok. Lol
I'm missing my home, my family, aswell as my friends here in Daedalus. I hope to return home soon. I'll keep you all updated as I can.
