Still not sure what I'm going to learn from this... ever host takes something different away from zhian'tara. It's best of one's closest friends and family perform the ritual... but mother is busy instructing at the academy(it's finals week for a few classes,) father is off in some backwater end of space negotiating some treaty or another. By virtue of being an only child I have no siblings to share this moment with. I'm not entirely sure why I'm hesitating. My senior staff has already agreed to help me through this. Kelly insisted anyway. I think the Commission is just glad I'm actually heading home to do this, rather than not answer their angry letters and dodge any trill I don't know whenever I pull into dock.
At least I didn't get to meet some shattered bastard of a cross-dimensional duplicate last week. We assisted Commander Winegard of the Lafayette on a particularly dangerous mission into an alternate reality. Overall the mission was a success, but the Damascus took heavy damage, and our MACO detachment took a few casualties.
The Orb of Possibilities... Those damnable artifacts will be the death of us. I swear that all of those Bajoran orbs are dangerous... but least Captain Sisko still has the ear of the so-called "Prophets." Whatever those beings are, at least they're backing the Bajorans. I wonder who we'll need to turn to for help if they turn against us.

Stardate: 87999.34 Personnel: Captain Joyaus Dalun Location: Ready Room, U.S.S. Damascus Title of Log: Keep them close
The meeting was interesting. That nagging in the back of my mind. That feeling of failure... At very least it's passing. Still haven't figured out just WHAT that raider ship used on us, but hopefully with an experienced science officer like Lieutenant T'Shanien on board, we have a better chance of preventing that from happening again.
Of course, that brings me to my other major concern. T'Shanien is very obviously fighting displays of emotion. An emotional vulcan can potentially be a bad thing. Also it leaves one up for great concern, given the closeness between the Vulcan and Romulan races. And minor genetic manipulations to hide or alter romulan genetic traits are not impossible.
There goes my paranoia again. I'm sure she'll be fine. Kinda thin. Very fit... Has that weird allure vulcans always seem to have. Unattainable. I can feel a little bit of Rutler poking through. Needless attraction. Well, I suppose I'd rather have Rutler's sexual promiscuity than Jor's pain and anguish. I can deal with that. Of course, the next moment someone stares at my breasts, I'll have to resist that knee jerk reflex with every last bit of my strength. And to appease the restless spirit of Rutler, I have "The whole package".

Stardate: Undated Supplemental Personnel: Captain Joyaus Dalun Location: Temporary Quarters, Starbase 1, Sol Title of Log: Random scribblings
Something possessed me to write this down in in hand writing. Something I wish I hadn't done because I know that given a few weeks, I won't be able to read it. My handwriting in ancient trill dialects is horrible.
I've been thinking about all that has been going on lately. We'll be underway by the weekend once everyone is back from leave and the Damascus has finished it's maintenance cycle. Then after that, we're off to Utopia Planitia for a quick baryon sweep and then back off into the field. Odd how they arranged it. I guess the sweep was scheduled as an after thought. We get in set up and everyone is ready for duty again, and then we go to Mars and sit around for a few hours twiddling our thumbs on a mini vacation again.
Nonsense. I'll just put this book on my shelf in the ready room. And maybe I'll start teaching Geni trill next time I see him.

I'll admit that I'm more than a bit concerned right now. I've recently been informed that the U.S.S. Thy'lek Shran has gone missing. A few garbled transmissions have been picked up in the B'Tran cluster, but their source has not been identified.
My duties in the sector are, unfortunately, unrelated and I will be unable to assist in the search. My duties and the completion of them, are paramount, and 'Geni would understand that.
I am, however, submitting a request to assist with the search when I'm next able to... for all the good it will do.
Be careful out there my... friend.

Stardate: Supplemental Personnel: Commander Shreni Arsofnica Jonran Location: U.S.S. Damascus, Beta Ursae Sector Block, en route to Sirius Sector Block Title of Log: Missing in Action, Again.
As acting Captain of the U.S.S. Damascus due to the disappearance of Captain Dalun, I am placing a log in her stead.
Seems that recent events involving Captain M'lkov's disappearance along with the U.S.S. Thy'lek Shran have stressed Captain Dalun to a breaking point. She has been sitting on that leave for almost a year now, and has now scheduled all of it at once. In the middle of a strategic brainstorming session on Deep Space Nine, no less.
We've been authorized to pursue, and finally allowed to assist in search and rescue operations to find the Thy'lek Shran. However tracking the U.S.S. Delaware has been.... difficult. Captain Dalun has been using checkpoint evasion methods not seen in over a hundred standard years. We suspect they were coined by her previous host Kenis, and they have been documented... but no one has used these routes and paths in so long, people have forgotten about them. We suspect that we'll be able to catch her before she makes it to the Transwarp entrance to Gamma Orionis... unless of course she has already gotten through.
Computer, End log, I need to head to the bridge. *Combadge tap chime in the background* Lieutenant Chandrakalar, I'm heading back up to the bridge, Patch us through to the U.S.S. Victory!

Stardate: Supplemental Personnel: Captain Joyaus Dalun Location: U.S.S. Damascus, Orelius Sector, High Orbit of Defera Title of Log: Short thoughts.
Lt. Chandrakalar is still working on repairs to our main computer. Apparently, SOMEONE's meddling caused some issues in the log systems, that are causing the log system to not create personal logs with dates attached, forcing all of them to be listed as supplemental. Even the main ship's Chronometer is bugging out. Who in the world set the damn thing up to be so centralized in the first place? In other news however, I've been communing with Kenis. Not sure why... but he's honestly, very easily the most interesting of my last lives
Smiling Kenny Dalun. Gentleman Master Thief.
