A wind-up tin soldier. Worf meets Spock with a bit of Dwight Schrute mixed in.
8.) What kind of commission does your character have? (Enlisted, Petty Officer, or Officer)
Officer
9.) Please give a little background about this character.
Jonathan's father owned a shipping business which he operated out of a freighter. He remembers little of his childhood as the ship was attacked by the Orion syndicate after his father refused to do business with them and refused to surrender an employee to them who had borrowed fairly heavily from them. He was saved by a starfleet ship crewed mostly by Vulcans who thereafter raised him. He idolized the Vulcan science officer who saved him. He grew up seeing how brave Vulcans were. How pursuit of logic seemed to protect them from ever getting hurt and pushed aside parts of his own humanity in order to avoid ever feeling as afraid and powerless as when his ship was boarded as a child. Logic and reason have allowed him to block most of his memories and he's fairly avoidant when it comes to things that bring him back to humanity.
(In honesty I thought this would be interesting after seeing the TNG episodes "Hero Worship" and "Suddenly Human" back to back. Also, I wanted someone who was the exact opposite of Bell)
