Stardate: 88741.8
I've settled into my new quarters rather nicely. I'm already starting to add a little bit of myself to it's decoration. Putting up some paintings *he looks back over his shoulder at a painting of a medieval style castle* mainly about early Earth history. I've met some of the crew as a came aboard as well. I do get the impression that I came off a little too distant with them, but that is an issue I'll have to work on.
I have also been told I will be working as an Operations officer that will help out a bit here and there in Engineering. I can't wait until we depart Earth Space Dock and get on with some missions. I only hope I can rise up to the expectations of the crew.
Until next time. Rater, out.

*Nathan walks up to his computer console turning it on to do his log* Personal Log, Stardate... *he blinks looking around but finally shakes his head* Whatever...
Today during my shift we were attacked by the Undine we've been chasing. They used some sort of energy wave that affected most of the crews mind driving them mad. Even the Captain herself... the last person on the ship I thought to succumb to madness. Despite only having 50% crew, Commander Binet was able to get the ship back under control somehow. *Nate chuckles some* Oh talking about this brought up a funny image... a rather cruel joke, but Aidan was talking like a mad prophet predicting the end of time. I don't think I will let him live it down *He taps his chin thinking* Or maybe I will... I would rather not give him motive to do the same to me if I ever get placed in such a position.
*Nate gets up and walks over to his replicator and orders himself a cup of hot tea*
Well now I move on to more recent matters. Commander Binet, to my surprise, asked me to assist on a project to use the Undine's energy wave against them. I only pray that I am up to the task. *He picks up his PADD and taps at it looking over some ideas he wrote down* I've already started coming up with ways to modify the Deflector Dish, but it would require us to reroute power from the warp engines and auxiliary. I'm not sure if the dish would be intact afterwards or not, and the Commander wants it to be operational afterwards as well. *Nate sighs deeply tapping the PADD against his leg a little angered* This is my first real task aboard this ship, and I cannot fail... I need to prove to them what I'm worth. *he pauses for a moment and sighs again* I need to prove to myself what I'm worth. *he said quietly just barely enough for the computer to pick it up.*
Computer, end log.

*Walks into his quarters yawning walking over to his computer*
Computer, start a new personal log entry and put in the current Stardate for me.
Alright, where to begin?
Well, we finally finished our mission and rescued our lost crew member. But it wasn't without injury I'm sadden to say, last I heard she was missing limbs or something like that. Most of the away team also took some hits getting her back.
After we beamed the away team up the Borg payed a surprise visit and attacked the Undine Dreadnaught that was attacking us. Nice to see the Borg being useful for once. We moved away from their fire fight and watched until one of the Borg ships opened up a portal to get out of Fluidic Space. Needless to say, we went into the portal at the risk it could lead us to the Delta Quadrant. I trust the Captain's decision, and considering we're on our way back home she was right.
*walks over to his replicator and orders himself a cup of coffee. After he gets his drink he walks back and sits down in a chair*
In the portal, or wormhole, wherever it was. There was another wormhole that branched off of the one we were in. The Captain decided to take us into that, engineering boosted power, Ensign T'Ruri piloted us in gracefully. I used the main deflector to "bride the gap" of the second wormhole to help the Ensign a bit... not that she needed the help, I'm sure she could have done it without it. Hell, I think she could pilot this huge ship through the streets of New York city.
*Finishes his coffee off turning down to his PADD and appears to be working*
Well I have some work to do, and I'm going to look into seeing about making some changes to the ship to improve her... with Captain's permission of course.
Anyway. Computer, End Log.

Nate walks into his quarter moving briskly to the replicator and ordering a cup of honey-mint tea. After he gets his drink he moves towards his desk while sipping at his tea.
"Computer, begin personal log."
He plops down into his chair placing the cup of tea on the desk. Nate leaned forward to rest his elbows on the table with a yawn.
"Today was an interesting day... quite fun if you don't count getting shot at by a freighter rigged to be a bomb. Maybe I should start from the beginning."
Nate leaned back in his chair crossing his arms over his chest staring blankly at the computer thinking.
"We were called to the conference room by the Commander and he gave us order to practice our flight skills with the a-101's. The mission started out smoothly. Quiet, no unexpected variables. Then we got orders to go help a Cardassian freighter on course to DS9."
He uncrossed his arms with a yawn reaching for his tea taking a long drink.
"This is where the fun began. The freighter didn't respond to our hails, and even crazier, it began firing at us! During this time I was at helm and I was able to maneuver our shuttle out of the way safely and retreat to a safe distance. Shuttle number two however... well... they had their engines explode. And not from being fired at I hear."
Nate coughs drinking more of his tea looking around the room quickly before continuing.
"After I piloted us a bit away from the freighter Ensign T'Ruri suggested she take the helm. I agreed full heartedly because... well, she has far more experience flying in a situation like this than I, and has more of a chance of saving our skins. I moved to the transporter controls after getting orders from Commander Binet to beam the crew of shuttle two aboard, and I was to contact the Adagio and inform them that we needed immediate assistance."
Nate starts to yawn and stretch clearly getting tired.
"After we beamed the shuttle two crew aboard we headed back to the Adagio. Overall... I say it was one of the most interesting practice flights I've been on."
Nate picks up his tea heading for his bedroom.
"Computer, end personal log."

Nate strides into his quarters with a big yawn making his way to his desk.
"Computer, begin log."
He rubs his chin debating on what to say.
"Today has been most eventful... if but a bit nightmarish."
Nate sighs leaning back in his chair getting himself comfortable.
"We arrived at K-7 today and well, I'm not too sure where to begin."
He taps his fingers on the table for a full minute before finally speaking.
"I suppose on the bridge. I was manning my normal post when we started our approach to K-7. Commander Binet order me to contact the Quartermaster there and get our supplies ready for transport. Shortly after I completed that we received a hail from Admiral Donaldson giving the okay for the Captain to beam over to the Endeavour. Shortly before the Captain left she gave the okay for most of the crew to enjoy some shore leave. A welcomed change if you ask me."
Nate stands up moving to his replicator and gets himself a glass of water. After his water materializes he moves back to his chair making himself comfortable again.
"I stayed aboard the Adagio a little longer than most of the bridge crew to finish up some work. But as soon as I beamed down to the station I made way to the bar. I ordered myself a glass of wine trying to obey Commander Binet's orders not to get drunk. I met up with D and Aidan there. D was apparently very emotional about T'Ruri still, but according to her she finally settled the issue they were having. Not sure if it's really over or not, but that is not a place I want to stick my nose into. They invited me over to sit with them at their table, and then the whole evening got very uncomfortable for me... I'm sure D was having a blast however."
Nate sighs deeply, almost sadly as he turns his head to look out his window at the far off stars.
"They both nagged me to figure out if I had a crush on Malitzka. I told them everything I felt about her... the slight fear I have of her, and that I find her eyes attractive, which was exactly what they were hoping to hear I think. Long story short, they hounded me into asking her to dinner, which she said no. I wasn't too devastated by the answer because I expected it. I only really asked her to get Aidan and D off my back about the issue."
Nate yawns loudly and brings his hands up to rub his eyes.
"Well I better get some sleep. Computer, end log."

Nate walked into his quarters slowly with a sad expression on his face. He grab himself a cup of tea before moving over to his desk.
"Computer, begin log."
He took a few sips of his tea before finally speaking.
"I made myself look incompetent. The Captain asked me to review intel about the Vor System and all I did was make myself look completely arrogant. However, I am at fault for not studying the reports thoroughly before I was asked to preform my news duties as a Strategic Ops Officer..."
Nate sighed placing his head in the palms of his hands.
"I'm angered by my poor performance."
He moved his hands down into his lap giving one last sigh.
"I did get some useful tips from Commander Arnimane... and I intend to put those tips to good use. I will not make a complete ass of myself next time around."
Finished off the rest of his tea. He scratched his head some before carrying on with the log.
"I also find myself a little lonely... not lonely as in, *He does his best to impersonate a teenage girl*Like why can't I get a girlfriend?"
He shakes his head making himself laugh a little.
"No, but I really should attempt to be more active in social gatherings... I think I'll do that next time, and I'll try to be more outgoing and less socially awkward."
Nate stood up making his way towards his room.
"Computer, End Log."

Stardate: Something
*Walked over to his desk brushing his beard and humming a soft tune to himself.*
"Computer, begin log."
*Nate placed his comb down on his desk as he took his seat*
"Today is going to be busy. Given yesterday's events we're going to be undergoing a lot of repairs. Horrible for me to say it, given why the ship is in need of repairs, but I am actually looking forward to fixing the ship. Gives me a chance to get away from my operation's console on the bridge."
*Nate smiled at the thought of being able to work on the ship.*
"The ship's transporters were disabled. So I'm going to be helping get all those up and running. Yesterday was one hell of a day..."
*Nate's upbeat attitude quickly disappeared. His smiled slowly turned into a frown and his eyes showed clear signs of sadness.*
"We lost a lot of people... a lot of good people."
*His gaze shifted over to a picture on his desk. He tried his best to stop himself from crying, but some tears escaped from his eyes rolling down his cheeks.*
"My Father told me to expect casualties in Starfleet. Death is a risk we all take by wearing these uniforms. But nothing can prepare you for the loss of a loved one or a close friend. All you can do is live on in their name."
*Sighed deeply grabbing the picture from his desk and taking a look at it. The camera catches a quick glimpse of it. The picture shows Nate and some of his old friends from his past assignment.*
"When you lose a friend, you lose a part of yourself with them."
*Placed the picture back on the desk carefully, tears still rolling down his cheeks."
"You're lost but never forgotten."
*Tried his best to stop the tears but he is unable to.*
"This is why I don't like talking to people unprofessionally... What if I get close to them and they end up dying the next day."
*closes his eyes as he stood up from his chair quickly darting off to clean himself up before his shift. As he moves away he calls back at the computer.*
"Computer, end the God damned log."

Personal Log, Stardate 89077.76
It has been a tiring past few days for me. Being made the Chief of Operations aboard the ship and still continuing with my side training into strategic ops has been taxing. However, I think I'm doing just fine despite the extra work load.
*His gaze slowly shifts to the side as he starts to get lost in thought*
The only thing that has been giving me a headache is training the new members of my department... I'm thinking I'll just assign some more drills and let Meelok supervise it and scold them when necessary, or even have Konmal do it. Having a Klingon looking down on them may make them work better.
*Nate shrugged leaning forward to rest his elbows on his desk*
I would talk more about work related subjects, but I am not too sure given our current situation if that would be wise. I can say however I did give the Captain some good advice this time around... I hope.
*Nathan leaned back in his chair crossing his arms over his chest with a clear sign of worry over his face*
Enough of work... Last time I spoke with the Captain personally we were in her ready room, this also happened to be the day she made of Chief of Operations, I couldn't stop starring at her fish. She told me they were from Andor. She later asked me if I had any pets or if I wanted any... Long story short. I'm thinking of getting a dog. A Doxen if I can get it okayed by the Captain first.
*Looks over at his clock with a sigh*
Anyway... I have a message to send off then I need to report to the Bridge for my shift.
Computer, End Log.

*Nate walked into his quarters sluggishly. He slowly made his way to his replicator and order himself a cup of his favorite tea.*
"Computer, start a new personal log and input the current stardate."
*He said making his way to his desk. Sipping away at his tea still he sat in his chair and made himself comfortable*
"I've had a rather random day... Defera is certainly going to be a place for me to avoid in the near future if this sort of stuff happens often."
*Nate moved his legs up to rest them on his table. He set his tea aside and leaned back in his chair and placing his hands behind his head*
"I should start from the beginning. We all beamed down for some shore leave, even Anja herself tore herself away from duty. Anyway, I found myself a nice silent spot near some water, because I don't do well in talking to strangers. As I was starting to relax a merchant pops out of nowhere and offers me a fake Adagio shirt."
*Nate shook his head a little with a small smile*
"I swear, I cannot know why that merchant did not figure out it was fake from the start... at least that was my thought from the beginning. I thought he was a con and my temper may have risen a bit off the scale as he tried to explain... But what got me to start yelling at him was those old Vulcan tools he tried to pass off to me as off the Adagio."
*Nate kicked his feet off of the table leaning forward to rest his hands on the table*
"I later learned that he was a victim in the whole situation. Some asshat named Conroy or something tried to pass himself off as the Captain."
*Nate closed his eyes taking deep breaths to calm himself*
"We wouldn't have found that man if it wasn't for some Ferengi boy I tackled down thanks to D finding out he was distributing the false merchandise. Glad I haven't gotten into trouble for my sudden bold move... yet."
*He picked up his tea taking a nice lone sip from it.*
"Nonetheless, we captured Conroy, and he is safely aboard the Adagio in a nice cozy cell. I don't envy that man for the punishment he'll endure. Impersonation of a Starfleet Officer, a Captain of all things, is a very serious offense. Not to mention he escaped from his prison sentence as well... just more icing on the cake."
*Nate's gazed shifted downwards. His arms crossed over his chest as he leaned back into his chair*
"After all that happened we started to talk... D and T'Ruri talked to each other, and I could tell there were some emotions rising. I tried my best to switch the subject, but I don't think it worked very well. D ended up walking off somewhere, and left T'Ruri and myself alone. We talked a little about continuing my flight training, which I happily agreed because I like flying, but then she said something which caught me off guard. I can't remember what it was, but it was something about her being bad at flirting. I tried to flirt back, very poorly might I add, and long story short... I asked her on a dinner date and she said yes."
*Nate looked up uncrossing his arms to have his right hand tap at the desk*
"As excited as I am about that... I wonder if it was the right thing to do. D clearly still likes her, and well... I'm not sure how D would react to T'Ruri being with anyone else."
*He Shrugged standing up*
"Oh well... If a problem arises from it I'll handle it when it comes. One thing at a time right? And right now my current problem is our damned Holodeck 3 having a problem with raining Ice Cream."
*Turned away to make for the exit*
"Oh! Computer, end log."

*Nate walked into his quarters clearly exhausted. Before sitting down in his usual seat for his logs he made himself a cup of tea*
"Computer, begin personal and input the current stardate for me."
*Sunk into his seat making himself comfortable. Taking a few long sips from his cup he soon began to relax, closing his eyes and having a large smile on his face*
"Feels good to finally sit down and just relax after what this crew has just been through."
*Nate still kept his eyes closed as he talked. Slowly he moved his half-full cup of tea to his desk until he wanted another drink.*
"It was one hell of a fight... that is for sure. Everyone aboard the Adagio preformed above admirably. The Borg hardly knew what hit them."
*In a flash Nate's clam and relaxed state disappeared. He sat forward with his elbows on his knees and his chin resting in the palm of his hands*
"However, with every bit of good there must be bad..."
*Nate reached out and took his half-empty cup of tea taking a long sip from it before placing it gently back on the desk*
"Aidan was relieved of Bridge duty. And the Captain and Commander Binet soon left for her ready room... leaving me at the con."
*Nate sighed deeply bringing a palm up to his face in what resembles a Picard Facepalm.*
"And while I had the con a fight broke out in Ten Forward. Someone down there called for security about a fight, and the Captain heard it over her com and ordered me to quell it."
*Nate slowly removed his palm from his face. Resting his hands in his lap still leaning forward*
"I sent two security teams down there with orders to stop the fight and take all involved parties to their quarters until the commanding officers could handle the situation."
*He leaned back in his chair crossing his arms over his chest*
"The fight was between Lieutenant Aidan Conroy and Lieutenant Anja Malitzka. No big surprise there... I'm thinking Aidan tried attacking her from how he's been acting lately."
*Nate shook his head*
"I only wished I had more details about what happened... all I know is a fight broke out and I don't know the reason. Wow... I just realized. I might be a gossip..."
*Nate shutters at the thought of being like a 16 year old in High School who cannot stay out of people's business*
"Well, the situation was handled... Commander Binet I'm sure put the wrath of the Gods into them both... and the Captain, well, there is no words that can describe that fury. 'Hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn?'"
*Nate shook his head*
"Nah... that one doesn't really work. But moving on now."
*Took his cup of tea and finished the remaining drink still left inside the glass*
"The ship is currently undergoing repairs, and I have to help organize all of that when I'm on duty. I think it is best that I get some sleep."
*Stood walking towards his replicator placing the glass in it. The glass dematerialized as Nate walked towards his bed*
"Oh! I almost forgot. Computer, end log."

"Computer, begin log and input the current stardate."
*Nate sighed as he waited for the computer*
"The past few days have been very taxing on me. First, Commander Arnimane made the choice to experiment with some Borg tech down in Echo Lab. However, the activated Borg device didn't emit any signal to alert the Collective nor did it tamper with our systems aboard the Adagio."
*Nathan closed his eyes for a moment looking half asleep*
"Sadly, we didn't get anything of real worth from the experiment, other than Commander Arnimane couldn't feel or find any Borg presence. All and all, I say that is a good thing."
*He opened his eyes leaning forward resting his elbows on his desk*
"She seems determined to find the missing task force. I admire her devotion to the lives of other officers. A characteristic, until recently, I didn't think she was capable of."
*Nate leaned back in his chair looking up at the ceiling*
"After the experiment was over we had to stay in the lab for eight hours before we could leave. I ended up reading, aloud, to Commander Arnimane and Ada. By her request, of course."
*Nathan yawned loudly mumbling to himself as he slowly drifted to sleep. The log went on for five minutes of him snoring in his chair before it finally cut out."

Stardate: 90314.22 Computer begin personal log. Well, I'm finally back on the Adagio after having to spend more time than I'd like on the S.S. Snoopy. That ship is barely held together, almost every system down in engineering is cross-circuited in a manner that resembles insanity. -A loud sigh is heard- Even if Captain Conway's ship was a complete garbage scowl, it was nice to be able to work as an engineer again. Reminds me of my ensign days, even if it was only a year and a half ago, but it still feels so long ago. I suppose I have a bit of nostalgia.
-A few coughs were heard over the audio-
Well, enough of my dreams for the past. Currently we're conducting repairs to the ship, warp drive is offline but should be up soon, some of the transporters are having issues with their phase transition coil... which I haven't been able to understand why, but I suppose it could just be because of the stress the ship was under during the attack. Either way, there is a lot of work to do around here.
-A distant yawn can be heard as well as soft footsteps-
Computer, end log.

It's been a very eventful week for me and many others aboard ship. We've recently witnessed the promotion of two of our best officers. Anja was promoted to Lieutenant Commander and T'Ruri to full Lieutenant. We held their ceremony on the bridge in the presence of an admiral. Under the watchful gaze of the brass we did the tradition of tapping the pips, and shortly returned to our duties. As I think about it now, I can't imagine an admiral coming aboard for a simple promotion ceremony... it makes me think we're going off on some sort of important mission. So you can imagine I've been a little on edge since to be at peak performance.
To move on away from my own speculation... I've been basically going back to school. After my efficiency review I was put into consideration to become the ship's new Chief Engineer. A role I will admit I may not be suited for. The Captain and Commander Binet must have thought the same thing, considering Commander Binet is to be my mentor for the position... much like Commander Arnimane is my mentor for Strategic Operations. With all of this new training I'm going through I can't help but feel a little overwhelmed, it's almost like being back at the academy really. Go to class, study, eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, go to sleep for two hours and repeat. Nonetheless, I've never been one to turn down a challenge, and I don't intend to start now.

It's been a while since I've sat down and made a proper log. I just haven't had much motivation to spill my thoughts out freely to the computer I guess. It's been an interestingly tiresome couple of days for me. The whole incident down in the mining facility, and then the bashing of my head against a problem as hard as stone... the Captain's "Dragon". I ran some of my ideas by Binet, he thought they had potential. To be honest I'm frightened that they'll fail.
Well, besides all that I've been scanning the sector looking for relays, but to no avail. I just can't pick up anything that we're looking for on the sensors. It's driven me to the point of madness. I even snapped a bit at a crewman earlier, and I never let my frustration get the better of me. So, I decided to take a break and rest.
Speaking of rest... Computer, End Log.

Computer, start personal log and place the current stardate in.
It's be rather busy on the ship the past few weeks. Hunting down the unknown enemy with a weapon capable of cutting through a ship's shields and hull. But we finally did it! I actually felt a sense of joy on the bridge as I saw the ship blow up above New Romulus. A bit terrified considering how close we were but happy nonetheless. We managed to make it far enough away to not take us with it as it exploded... some of the power conduits blew all around the ship, but besides that most systems are operating. Hell, even the Main Deflector is working after we used my 'last resort'. I was certain that it would have blown the dish, but I'm not going to complain about it.
I have damage control teams working tirelessly to get the ship back up to shape and to give me a more detailed report of the damage. Anyway, I need to get some rest. Computer, End Log.
