I'm writing this log for you my dear friends of the Leprechaun I. I will not forget any of you. Pet Project: Heavy Command Shuttle. Type X6 Type: Heavy short-range warp shuttle. Accommodation: 1 Flight crew, 1 Tactical/Operations Controller. Power Plant undressed: One 50 cochrane warp engine, two 750 millicochrane impulse engines, four RCS thrusters. Power Plant Command Module: One 150 cochrane warp engine, two 750 millicochrane impulse engines Dimensions undressed: Length, 6.0 m; beam, 4.4 m; height 2.7 m. Dimensions Extra Plating: Length 7.1m; Beam 5.5m; height 3.8m Dimensions Command Module Length 3.3m; Beam 5.5m; Height 3.25m Mass undressed: 3.38 metric tons. Mass Dressed: 6.78 metric tons. Performance Undressed: Sustained Warp 3. Performance Dressed: Sustained Warp 2. Armament Undressed: None. Armament Dressed: Mounts for Two Type-IV phaser emitters. Shields Undressed: Type III Regenerative shields Shields Dressed: Type III Regenerative shields Plating Type Undressed: Standard Plating Type Dressed: Victoriam Alloy Mark II Sensor Mounting: Command Relay sensor mounted on top of Command unit. Other Equipment: Custom Holometric Device. Custom Computer Mainframe(Tactical commands to remote Perrigan Fighters. (subnote: Command module is jettisonable leaving an extended rear type 6 shuttle with heavy plating) Purpose: Decoy Deployment Unit. Objective: To lure Enemy Units away from objective for either ambush attacks or as a distraction to complete Mission objectives Reason: During my time on Leprechaun I being an loan wolf defiant vessel. Used in deepspace search and destroy tasks against Klingon ships. There we're many cases were a distraction for the enemy would have allowed for Mission success instead of mission failure. If I had finished this project before I had left for command school or left the shuttle for my friends in engineering to finish. Perhaps they could have used this and still been alive today. Process: Using the holo emitters that are attached to the command shuttle. Project a larger ship or group of ships with the perrigun fighters to appear as a threat that most or some of the enemy units will go after leaving room for the main ship to complete it's mission. Things Still to be done: Acquire more parts and materials. Finish framework of the command module and plating. Building of the custom mainframe More parts for the custom holoemiters Parts for the Holometric and Tactical Console Need more raw materials for platting and coils Need more parts for the command module warp drives. Acquire Alloy Vicotoriam or the like to plate the hull on top of standard plating. Finish putting together the second shield generator. Acquire Phaser Arrays. Well I guess that's about it for now. Maybe one day I'll even submit this to fleet command.... Just kidding we know they wouldn't understand the needs of us simple minded men on the front. There medals get in the way of their thinking. *chuckles* Anyways I'd send this to you but your not their to receive it. I wonder if it would have made a difference if I was there on your last voyage. I think sometimes...

-Attached Video Log from Away team Mission-
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=The Ayanami has been holding it's own against the spattering of KDF ships that have been arriving ahead of the main fleet.=-
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=Unfortunately, the defense hasn't been flawless, and several ships have gotten throug. One, a carrier, managed to deploy several wings of fighters to the p[lanets surface, and another scored a few =
DGM Ceiling Cat: ... direct hits on the supply depot=-
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=UNfortunately, one of those hits was in a residential section of the base, and the base's command staff has been trapped.=-
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=Ny dispatches a shuttle to assess the damage, and start working on an evacuation=-
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=Now that another lapse in the fighting has arrived, the shuttle is deployed to the planet's surface.=-
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: Me Trench and Aurora and M'row are here anyone else needan invite?
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=Meanwhile, several systems away, the Solbianca rushes through space, trying desperately to get to the Ayanami before thier ammunition runs out.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Guides the shuttle toward the planet with his typical stiff posture and movements* We are now 30 seconds from the planet's F layer of the planet's ionosphere.
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=The shuttle remains tied into the Ayanami's comm nets at this distnace=-
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=The Solbianca arrived just shortly before, managing to load a few munitions before another attack wave arrives in system.=-
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=As of now, both ships are fighting teh new wave. Ayanami is engaged with three birds of prey, and the Solbianca is engaged with a Corsair, trying to keep it from launching it's fighter wings against
DGM Ceiling Cat: ... the planet.=-
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=THe shuttle in use, by the way, is one of the HRV's, currently configured as a standard shuttlecraft.
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: *Punches some diagnotics through the pannels and begins scanning for a safe place to land on the planet.*
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=As the shuttlecraft nears the atmosphere, stevens comes over the comm=- Shuttlecraft Kami, we've got three attack craft lifting from teh surface.
Ensign Aurora Eshani: *Is a bit out of place in the shuttle, but bides her time monitoring the shuttle's sensors to ensure nothing hostile is coming in on the shuttlecraft.*
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Acknowledged
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: Trenchard. Don't scrath this ship I don't want to have to repaint it once we're back aboard the ship.
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: Engin Aurora do a secondary scan on those bogey's coming from the surface and feed the trajectory to Trenchard.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Damage to the outer hull is unlikely in this scenario. Should we lose shields, we will likely burn up in the atmosphere
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: ... Trenchard... Your not suppose to say that. *groans slightly*
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Taps the guidance control, eyes on the incoming ships*
Ensign Aurora Eshani: "Aye sir." *Aurora immediately follows through with the command promptly, scanning the inbound unknowns and feeding their position and current trajectory to Trenchard's console.
Ensign Aurora Eshani: "I'll try to keep you updated if or when they change."
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=The fighters are unseen under the cloud cover so far, but that's not the only problem. A few moments later, a wave of fighters, 5 of them, is launched from teh Corsair.=-
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: We out running them or you gonna fight them Trenchard? If we get down to the surface we can use the HRV for Camoflage and I won't have to repaint her later.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Hand movements begin picking up speed as they move across the console* In these circumstances, direct confrontation would not be wise
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: *reroutes power from weapons to engines*
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=The computer locks onto the three fighters heat signatures. They seem to be pacing teh shuttlecraft, under the clouds.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Unfortunately, we will first have to bypass the ground based defenses
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Prepare for rapid descent
SolBianca: *solbianca moves to get between the mother craft and the planet to intercept its launched craft, as it does so if starts dropping small satalites from its underside*
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: The ground base should be on our side Trenchard. It' those fighters and any ground troops they may have deployed we have to worry about.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: I count three fighters beneath us. Ensign, can you get a reading on any on the ground defenses?
Ensign Aurora Eshani: Dashes across the board in front of her, directing the sensors towards the ground, probing for the ground defences that should be there.*
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: Are we gaining speed on those Fighter's yet or they still matching us?
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: They appear capable of matching our maneuvers. Curious that they would not simply attack.
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=Two of the five fighters are caught in the Solbianca's barrage. The other three continue on their way.=-
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: Next time let's take a cloaked shuttle and we won't have to worry about it. What you want to do plow through or try and blast them Trench? Essentially you want all shields or some firepower?
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=THe three fighters are stil under the cloud cover. It's possible they're just waiting for the shuttle to drop altitude=-
Ensign Aurora Eshani: I doubt a cloaked ship would have helped much, with the requirement that we traverse the atmosphere.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: We will need to even the odds quickly. Give me power to weapons for an initial salvo and then redistribute as you see fit.
SolBianca: The crew attempts to tractor on and beam the other back between solbianca and their launch ship
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: *nods as I begin to change configurations. 50% Weapons 25% shields and engines.*
Ensign Aurora Eshani: Are the fighters flight capable? That is, are they aerodynamic?
Ensign Aurora Eshani: If they're not, couldn't we simply destabilize their anti-gravity devices?
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Unclear. However, three more ships are incoming and we must act
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Prepare for rapid descent.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Taps the helm, setting for a steep descent*
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: Ready when you are Trench. Ensign keep feeding him telemetry see if you can find some place for us to hide using the Holographic emitters once we're passed them.
Ensign Aurora Eshani: Aye. *She sets the system to continually scan not only the fighters below but the ones above as well and feed the incoming data directly to Trenchard's display. Then she turns her attention to*
Ensign Aurora Eshani: *finding a suitable hiding place.*
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: *begins to assist with telemetry as well* Trench adjust your vector their should be an opening in there pattern off the starboard.[Teamwork damnit]
SolBianca: *the trctor beam misses one, however a second dematerializes and them rematerializes further out from the planet having been cought in a trasport, there Solbiancas Phasers wait for it again*
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=Kami drops suddenly below the clouds, angling for the fighters, but just as it drops the fighters appear to split apart. The why isn't obvious until... =-
DGM Ceiling Cat: COLLISION ALERT. RAISE ALTITUDE IMMEDIATELY.
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: Oh shit.... Mountain. *switching powers from weapons to shields and thrusters*
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=The Kami scrapes across the top of plateu before rebounding back up, rock tearing at the bottom of the shuttle.=-
Ensign Aurora Eshani: *Barely manages to remain in her seat with a very firm grip on the bulkheads around her terminal.*
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: It would appear that the chance of outer hull damage was greater than predicted
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: ... Yes I noticed.... Trench.... never mind. Esign you found a place yet for us to hide?
Ensign Aurora Eshani: Sorry Commander, but the only place we could possibly hide would be the depot itself.
SolBianca: =^= attention landing crew, two fighters have broken through, unable to fire on them as population centers are directly below them
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Distance to the depot?
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=The three fighers reconverge behind teh Kami, weapons hot=-
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=Fortunately, the roclky terrain works both ways. The fighters have to be concerned with their own safety as well, so it's hard to line up a good shot=-
Ensign Aurora Eshani: It is approximately 8 kilometres from our position, in the canyon ahead.
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: =^= Acknowledge Solbianca, Thank you for your support.
Ensign Aurora Eshani: *Works her magic across the console, far more active than she would need to be for a simple scan* "I've taken the liberty of checking the ship for damage. The holographic emitter appears to be
Ensign Aurora Eshani: damaged quite significantly. Operational efficiency is at 50%."
SolBianca: *Solbianca has deployed 6 satalites but they are still manuvering to calculated positions, Solbianca fires on the fighter it trasported away from the planet*
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: ... Trench the next time you try to hit something make sure you don't bounce the emitters... Thank you Ensign.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Raises an eyebrow* Does the depot have any form of defense?
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=THe last fighter vanshes in a very pretty explosion.=-
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=Unfortunately, while that excnahge goes on, the corsair launches a salvo, which hits Solbianca amidships, shields fall to 60%.
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: *Checks the information on the base.* It has Point Defense Trench. Just get us there in a hurry... and try not to ding us up anymore.
SolBianca: *having deployed its satalites and the fighters dealt with for no, Solbianca begins to turn into the Corsair to bring its phaser banks into play, its phaser arrays start the show*
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=4 miles away now, the canyon twists sharply to the right, then back to its original course=- ((pilot check))
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: *aims the phazer to shoot the canyon wall*
Ensign Aurora Eshani: I must admit, I did not expect to die by being scattered across the wall of a canyon on my second away mission.
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=Trenchard throws teh Kami through the chicane, but not all of ther fighters are that lucky. two smash against teh canyon walls, and spin away, exp[loding against the mountains=-
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=THe third gets a good line finally, and fires=-
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=The disruptor shot scores across teh holographic hull, and part of teh console in front of Trenchard shimmers out for a moment.=-
DGM Ceiling Cat: TRINARY HOLOGRAPHIC ARRAY AT 27%
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Does a slight double take as his rhythm is disrupted*
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Divert power to rear shields
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: *checks diagnostics on propulsion and hull damage takes all power away from weapons and puts them into rear shields and thrusters*
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Stiff posture begins to melt into more fluid movements as he fights to break from the remaining fighter*
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: Don't smack anything up front Trench we're exposed.
Ensign Aurora Eshani: Um, sirs? Is anyone keeping track of the other fighters?
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: ... *blinks* Nope what are they doing Ensign?
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=1 mile to the base=- The bottom drops out of the canyon, and sensors show a tunnel running into teh supply depot.=-
SolBianca: Solbianca fires its phaser arrays at the Corsair as it begins to turn into it
Ensign Aurora Eshani: *Concentrates on her console for a moment before looking back over her shoulder, "We just have the one on us."
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=THe Kami flies down the tunnel, with the last fighter right behind it, when suddenly, abot a thousand metres in, it turns 90 degrees to the right, suddenly.
SolBianca: *several of the phaser arrays connect withthe Corsair and the Coursair begins to break for a higher orbit, Solbianca still bringing its nose around to bring the more powerful phaser banks into targeti
SolBianca: targeting arc
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: *When the fighter breaks off redistrubutes the shields*
Ensign Aurora Eshani: *Clings to the bulkhead again as the ship flies through the tunnel.* "Someone please remind me to ask who designed this entrance, so I may kill them."
DGM Ceiling Cat: TRINARY EMITTER OFFLINE. SECONDARY EMMITTER AT 50%
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=At least the ship isn't actually a standard shuttlecraft, or it would be broken up over the canyon=-
SolBianca: Fewer of the Solbianca's arrays are in position now that her nose is getting closer to its arc but they those that can reach it continue to fire*
DGM Ceiling Cat: The fighter, likewise shears across teh corner, sliding in again behind the Kami, and ot's weapon ports charge. THe only thing Trenchard sees, though...
DGM Ceiling Cat: ... is a series of turrets push out from teh walls, seeming to fire point blank at the Kami, but surprisingly, none of them hit. The tracer rounds light up the tunnel, ,slamming into the fighter, ripp
DGM Ceiling Cat: ... ripping it to shreds=-
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Blinks* Slowing approach.
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: .... You know Ensign I say next time we teleport down here.
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=Meanwhile, the Corsair fires again, but the angle isn't good, and most of teh energy glances off the shields and bleeds off into the atmosphere.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Taps back the throttle and brings the Kami into a nice, easy approach*
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=The turrets shut down, and a voice comes over the Kami's comms=- That was brave piloting! Now all you need is a pilot! We can give you one for the trip back, if any of us survive!
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: *begins adjustment of power distribution to normal and starts damage analysis*
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: [That's all you trench. I'll let you respon]
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: This is Lieutenant Commander Trenchard of the USS Ayanami, we are here to render assistance
DGM Ceiling Cat: Ah yes! The... rescue party. I suppose I'd better meet you then. As soon as you're ready."
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: *whispers over to Aurora* He forgot to mention he was the pilot... *chuckles*
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Indeed, we are landing now. We shall be out to meet you momentarily
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Brings the Kami into a gentle landing pattern before turning from the helm*
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: Ensign go with LT. Cmdr Trenchard. I want to finish my analysis of the shuttle before I disembark.
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: I'll be right behind you.
Ensign Aurora Eshani: *Stands up from her console, visibly relieved to not have to cling to the bulkhead any longer.* "Aye sir."
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=THe Solbianca's shot scores threough the primary hull of the Corsair, and it pulls off, heading away from the planet.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Very well, Commander. The Klingons may be able to assist you in any repairs you would like to make before our departure
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Stiff movements returning, marches to the hatch* Follow me, Ensign.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Steps off the shuttle, nose twitching slightly at the non-recycled air*
Ensign Aurora Eshani: *Plants her feet firmly on the ground and bounces up and down slightly on her toes.* "Natural gravity is always a bit different."
SolBianca: Weapons officer reports excitedly that the enemy vessel is in Solbianca's primary firing arc, dorsal and ventral saucer mounted phaser banks open up and a salvo of quantum torpedos race forward toward
SolBianca: the Corsair*
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Indeed
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=Once all three are out of the shuttle, it shuts down, emitters disabling and the holographic flickers and vanishes, leaving only a duraluminium slab, about the size of two suitcases.
Ensign Aurora Eshani: "I've a request, commander. May we take a real shuttle next time and just put this in the cargo hold?"
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: No Ensign we would have been crushed in a real shuttle when we hit that plateau. I'll take this any day of the week.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: This shuttle was uniquely suited for our mission. Future scenarios will be dealt with according to their specific needs.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Glances around for their contact*
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=A Klingon dressed in black fatigues meets them at the loading bay.=-
DGM Ceiling Cat: Greetings -Starfleet-.
SolBianca: *solbianca's phaser banks cut into the fleeing Corsair jaring it violently but the vessel enters warp just as the quantum torpedose pass though its after image, a splattering of drive plasma is left
SolBianca: in its wake, a clue to its possible condition*
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: *turns to let Trenchard deal with the contact while I begin repairs.* I'll be here if you need me.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Greetings
DGM Ceiling Cat: I suppose it's good that you're here, if you can free those unlucky enough to be stuck behind teh rubble, we can focus on ourt defense!
DGM Ceiling Cat: Let me show you the area that we've been unable to clear.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Nods*
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=She turns and marches off, almost not giving them time to even follow=-
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Motions for Eshani to follow*
Ensign Aurora Eshani: *Nods and begins to follow.*
DGM Ceiling Cat: THis area here. YOu see... the rubble ahs fallen on several caches of minutions, including 5 tricobalt devices. Two of them have become armed.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Raises an eyebrow* This could become problematic
DGM Ceiling Cat: If we cannot defuse them, or otherwise dispose of them, we will have to leave the base and those warriors trapped behind it.
SolBianca: *maintinence teams move about Solbianca, tending to a few minor shorts while her sensors begin combing space for any new threats, arangements begin to offload Ayanami's suplies*
DGM Ceiling Cat: So! Do you think you can handle it?
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: We will attempt to do so.
DGM Ceiling Cat: I can't see it
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Turns to Ensign Eshani* Analysis, Ensign.
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: *whisltes Danny boy while he works*
Ensign Aurora Eshani: "Initial analysis. Who thought it was a good idea to keep tricobalt devices planetside? I thought that was against regulations. Secondly, who thought to keep their detonators on the devices?"
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Starfleet regulations, perhaps. However this is not a starfleet installation, Ensign.
DGM Ceiling Cat: We were unaware they were armed until this incident. THis depot has gone through many hands in the past.
Ensign Aurora Eshani: I would have thought it was common sense, considering how big a hole these will make.
DGM Ceiling Cat: Really, these things should -not- have been able to detonate, at all, but... -someone- who is now behind the rubble didn't count on a mountain falling on them, and compressing teh circuitry.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Either way, we will need to get to the devices in order to disarm them. Suggestions?
Ensign Aurora Eshani: Initial suggestion would be to use a short range transporter. Simply beam them out from under the rubble and into an open space in the room.
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: =^= Commander Trenchard. I'm done here what's the situation.
Ensign Aurora Eshani: We could use the HRV, if this facility lacks internal transporters.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: =^= We have rubble covering a passageway along with several active tricobalt devices
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: =^= How far in is the devices. Transporter possible or will we have to use a Phazer Drill to get at them?
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=One device is protruding from the wreckage, the otehrs are farther in
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=Solbianca's sensors show a fighter wing launching in the nothern hemisphere.=-
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: =^= one is immediately apparent from the rubble, the others are presently inaccesible. Could the phaser drill not risk piercing the devices' shielding and detonating them?
Ensign Aurora Eshani: I still stand by my suggestion, Commander. The mountains should not interfere with transporters within the passages.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *To Aurora* I agree. Begin making whatever preparations are neccesary
DGM Ceiling Cat: We have no transporters here, ourselves. They're proven... unreliable due to eth mineral deposits.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: We may, in that case, have to hold the option of using the phaser drill in reserve
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: =^= What's more critical disabling those devices or getting to the people inside?
DGM Ceiling Cat: *the klingon overhears that* If the devices are disabled, or at least contained, there won't be -anything- here.
Ensign Aurora Eshani: Yeah...if even one of them goes off, everything dies.
Ensign Aurora Eshani: And the Ayanami will likely see it from orbit.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: =^= Indeed. We must consider dealing with the devices our first priority. Commander, please join us in the adjoining chamber to assist Ensign Eshani.
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: =^= Confirmed be there momentarily. *picks up the cases and heads that way*
DGM Ceiling Cat: 5 fighters 8 miles out.
DGM Ceiling Cat: If you do not feel that you can do it, we will evacuate the base. Bt our commanders are behind that rubble. It would be a great loss if they were gone.
SolBianca: Sensors reconfirm targets wouldnt do well to shoot down friendly, kningons, cant belive i said that
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: How many are trapped?
DGM Ceiling Cat: KDF transponder, sir.
DGM Ceiling Cat: KDF transponder, sir.
DGM Ceiling Cat: THere's about 30 on the other side.
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: *Arrives setting the HRV off to the side. Touches the Mini Padd to his side as the display appears in his right optic* Let me evaluate first. Ensign begin configuration of the HRV to Phazer Drill.
SolBianca: aknowledged, bring them down, and notify ground assets of the situation *Solbianca begins targetting enemy fighters and fires when ready*
Ensign Aurora Eshani: Alternately we could simply burn a passage AROUND the devices, get the people out, and then either deal with the devices or simply abandon the base.
DGM Ceiling Cat: Our base isn't -that- secure any longer anyway.
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: That's my first assesment as well Ensign. But I want to see how critical these devices are first. Drilling around could cause more instability and if more rubble moves on these devices we could be....
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: in trouble.
DGM Ceiling Cat: The Sol's 1st shot takes out a fighting, a lance of light spearing it against the ground.
DGM Ceiling Cat: 4 fighters, 7 miles out.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Can you use the sensors and computer on the HRV to create a model?
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: *looks at the Klingon* Got a schematic?
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: I meant of the rubble. It seems as if we will need to make precise calculations, whether we use the transporters or a drill
DGM Ceiling Cat: Of course. One moment. *she turns away* Krark! Bring me that seismic diagrm you did! Now!
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: *nods* That's part of the analysis. If your any good with numbers I'l let you crunch them Commander. Why I review the schematics and the geological analysis of the walls to the side.
DGM Ceiling Cat: The second shot also knocks a fighter out of eth air. that leaves 3 fighters, closing in on 6 miles.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: It may be best to evacuate non-critical personnel, in case our attempts fail
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=Krark runs up, passes the report to the klingon commander, and she thrusts it out to however wants iyt."Here."
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: *i'm not sure we can any where in this depot is a death sentence if we fail.
DGM Ceiling Cat: The third shot takes out another one, Slbianca's goinner is good tonight. 2 fighters, 5 miles out.
DGM Ceiling Cat: We have 3 thransport cargo shuttles. We can load everyone on those.
DGM Ceiling Cat: Next shot misses, 2 fighters, 4 miles.
Ensign Aurora Eshani: *Takes the report and glances over it, her basic understanding of geology giving her at least some chance at understanding what she's looking at.*
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Very well. We observed a large number of attack fighters in orbit and on the ground. You should co-ordinate their launch with the ships in orbit
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: *nods* Do that then and put thm just inside the entrance with thier thrusters hot. If we fail get out.
DGM Ceiling Cat: Next shot misses, 2 fighters, 3 miles.
DGM Ceiling Cat: *nods and activates her comm* This is the station commander. Evberyone, on the transports NOW. Go!
Lt. Cmdr. FitzPatrick: Go With them Commander send all schematic information to Aurora and Trenchard.
DGM Ceiling Cat: The tac officer finds her feet again and another fighter os shorn from the sky. 1 fighter, 2 miles out.
DGM Ceiling Cat: It's on it's wqay now.
DGM Ceiling Cat: so! TO BE CONTINUED....
DGM Ceiling Cat: -=the scene fades with the base evacuatiung, and the last fighter zooming toward the depot.=-

I met with Trenchard after beaming back from the whale probe planet. The conversation went well...
<flash back>
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: -after deliviring the data to engineering he heads to the lounge for some wind down before he heads to bed. He made one stop in his quarters to get changed before meeting with Trenchard to discuss
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: his heavy command shuttle-
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Typical of his routine: enters the lounge, PADD in hand, precisely 4 minutes after the end of his shift and orders plomek soup and a salad from the replicator*
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: *looks up and sees Trenchard.* Have a seat Trench. Let me go over some of my ideas and here what you think.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Nods*
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: *takes a long drink of synthale as he ponders about the appropriate starting point* Well let me start with the reason for the design. I served on the Leprechan II before it's destruction. It was a
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *steadily moves through his salad as he listens*
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: lone wolf destroyer. Many died when we we're far from friendly faces. We came up with an idea to provide aditional aid to our ship that would hopefully cut back our losses.
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: We designed a shuttle craft to be a remote command ship to use the perrigin fighters remotely. It helped raise the spirits of our shipmates that something was being done to aid us when we couldn't.
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: Readily get supplies or aid. At first it was suppose to be a simple command ship but with some heavy discussons of the crew we came up with a bit more advanced idea. A decoy fleet.
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: *takes a long drink from the Sythale before he continues* Now to get to specifics. The original and the final design changed drastically. What we Ended up designing was a Heavy Shuttle craft that is
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Raises an eyebrow inquisitively*
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: about 8m longer then a normal shuttle craft with an exta narscelee for speed and extra warp capabilities.
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: The end project of it is to take the ship and give it a tacical console that it will use to give control over a prepackage instal of the perrigin fighters.
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: We outfit the Perrigin fighters with holo emitters and the command ship uses this to enhance the signals to make it appear as if several ships appear for space battle 100s of thousands of kilometers
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: away from the actual ships.to draw off the enemy to give us time to strike ourtarget and move out.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *chews thoughtfully*
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: What I have currently is a frame and some ofthe necessary enginerring parts what I'm going to need is tactical and pilot analysis plus more parts. The consoles need to be built and the software is
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: going to be a large project. Half the extension of the ship is dedicated to computer and spare warp core.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Finished, pushes away his tray* There are several immediate concerns
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: *nods* Please feel free to critique. My mates and I didn't get very far do to well... anyways your imput is important.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: First, a command ship, particularly one relies on decoys faces its most immediate danger from being spotted by enemy vessels. The longer it remains inconspicous, the more effective it will be
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: The large power draw neccesary for the ship described poses a problem, in this regard
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: *nods* Actually the command ship will have holo emiters as well as apart of the fleet. perferably te rear ship.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: I have read some papers discussing experimental warp field geometry and energy dampening alloys which may help such a ship reduce the degree by which it stands out
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: However, I am by no means an expert on either of these.
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: *nods* That's part of why I want some aid in this ideas that will help me refocus on this project will make my friends death not be in vain. It's my way of honoring them.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Tilts his head, trying to understand* I see.
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: *looks at him with a blank face for a moment then simply shakes his head* Don't let it concern you. The other aspect is this ship isn't that much different the the Leprechaun II. and from the logs the
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: perrigins are rarely used.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Second: While I do have some level of experience in computer systems, I am unsure if I will be able to assist you in fully programing the software you require
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: *nods* I sent Liz some of the information upon my return so she an review it and see if her or one of those under her want to help us.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: I see
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: *nods* what else do you think we need?
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: An interior
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: *chuckles* What you have in mind?
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: The newer holographic control consoles would be ideal, of course. I'm sure we could also design more efficient workstations with superior lumbar support
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: *nods as he types information into his data pad.* I'll make sure it has it since I figure at some point you'll be taking it out for a spin... Just dont' hit any mountains with it. *grins*
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: I would not suggest beginning with tests within an atmosphere
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: *chuckles* I wasn't planning ot it Trench that was a joke my friend. Anything else you think we need to have worked on?
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Several things, however I will need to fully review the current state of your project as well as available resources
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: *nods* The manifest I have is in my personal log. I'm trying to keep this an unofficial project since the previous captain didn't disapprove with the condition that making it did not interfer with our
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: work schedules or the usage of the ships energy so we often did minor salvage to make what we have.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: That will be difficult while the ship is in a combat zone
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: *nods* But not impossible. We sit often enough as well between battles. So with the right permision it should still be able to be done.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Has that permission yet been obtained?
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: *quirks brow in a mimic of how he often does it* Nothin yet lad I havents heeed de tymes to gets it yet. *says in broken gaelic.*
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Raises an eyebrow* On another subject, I have been meaning to discuss a series of malfunctions with my universal translator with someone in your department
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: *blinks*Oh? How is it broken?
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: I have recorded a number of instances wherein it has failed to fully translate words or ideas used in bridge communication
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: *quirks brow* Has it been in for regular maintenance before the irregularity happened?
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Indeed, it has
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: Hmm I can look at it later if you want can you give me a time reference of the last time it didn't function?
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Approximately 4 hours ago
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: *nods* I'll pull the ship logs of that time and run a simulation composition to the UT and see what the issue is.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Nods*
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: *stretches a bit* Well I was down on that planet for a long time and I should get some sleep before shift duties tomorrow. If you come up with any more ideas let me know and we'll discuss them.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Very well
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: Oh and take my UT for now. I'll take yours for analysis *passes his across the tabel*
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: *Nods and places his on the table, then picking up Fitz's*
Lt. Cmdr. Fitz'Patrick: *picks his up as he stands up* Night Trenchard. I'll see you on the morrow.
Lt. Cmdr. Trenchard: Indeed <end flash back>
After examining his UT I've decided to hand it over to Liz for a little software update with coliqialism added.
