STARSHIP RECRUITMENT
The Flagship of the 22nd Mobile Daedalus, the Odyssey-Class U.S.S. Endeavour, is currently looking for a few good crewmen for Season 6. This is a highly prestigious posting and as such, we're only looking for the best of the best.
The Endeavour typically runs from 8:45PM - 12:00 every Monday, Eastern Standard Time. It is run by DGM Kossuth and commanded by Captain Tanaka Hann.
The ship currently has several open positions available for either brand new Fleet members* or existing Fleet players (as Alts**).
All interested parties are asked to contact DGM Kossuth, Captain Tanaka Hann, and myself.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OPEN POSITIONS:
DEPARTMENT HEADS
Chief Tactical Officer - The main tactical and weapons officer aboard the starship. All of the ship's defensive shields and weapons systems, from the shipboard phasers and photon torpedo launch systems, to smaller hand-held weapons, are controlled and supervised by this officer. In addition to weapons, the CTO is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all ship's tactical long- and short-range scanners, tractor beams, sensor probes, and message / record bouys (although he may share some of these duties with the CSO). During alert conditions the tactical officer is responsible for the activation and monitoring of starship shields. This includes making manual adjustments such as shield modulation and recalibration.
Chief Security Officer - Sometimes combined with the Chief Tactical Officer, the security officer is responsible for internal security. This can range from security for visiting diplomats to counter-insurgency. During away team missions, personnel are vulnerable to attack. For this reason, the security officer is responsible for arranging security for officers away from the starship/station. He is responsible for securing and maintaining safety for the ship and its crew, from both internal and external threats, and is usually an integral member of most away teams.
Helm Officer - The Helm Officer (also known as Flight Officer, Conn, or Conn Officer), is responsible for all of the ship's helm and navigational tasks, with the assistance of the ship's computers. He receives his instructions directly from the Commanding Officer on his shift.
JUNIOR OFFICERS/CREWMEN
Security Officer/Crewman - Responsible for maintaining the Internal and external security of the Starship and it's crew. The Security Officer/Crewman reports directly to the Chief Security Officer.
Science Officer/Crewman - The Science officer is generally responsible for obtaining and analyzing all scientific data received from the ship's sensors, whether from the main sensor arrays or hand-held tricorders. Science Officers may either be specialized, concentrating in one or two specific areas, or be "general practitioners," a jack-of-all-trades. The Science Officer is responsible for taking raw data provided by these input devices and translating that data into dialog easily understood by the crew, especially the ship's Commanding Officer. It is frequently the input of Science Officers that tells a starship captain that what he is seeing on the viewscreen is a potentially hostile enemy. All Science Officers/Crewmen report directly to the Chief Science Officer.
Engineering Officer/Crewman - Engineers are the "mechanics" of the ship. What the Medical Officer is to the crew, the engineer is to the ship. The primary responsibilities of the engineer are monitoring, maintaining, and repairing starship/station systems. Since most systems are critical, they must be monitored on a continuous basis. All Engineering Officers/Crewmen report directly to the Chief Engineering Officer.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* New members usually are only eligible for Junior positions, but this is decided on a case-by-case basis.
** Existing Fleet Players that currently have a character on a different ship, are asked to create a seperate alt for use on the Endeavour. As a Fleet Player, you are only allowed 2 characters total.. your Main and one (1) Alt. If your main is currently not assigned to a ship/group, you may transfer that Main over to the Endeavour without creating an Alt.
