"I have a few things that require your attention, Admiral." -said the personal assistant as they walked into Admiral Donaldson's large office on Deck 5 of the Endeavour-
-She hands Donaldson a PADD as he sits at his desk and sips his coffee-
"First on the agenda, Admiral T'nae is asking for additional ships along the Klingon/Romulan boarder. She specifically thought of the 22nd Mobile and is requesting that we send some of our forces to help out in that region."
-Donaldson nods as he reads the request in detail on the PADD- "Have Task Forces Avenger and Archangel shift their patrol routes to include the Romulan/Klingon border as soon as they complete their current missions. They have the most experience by far and I'm sure they would welcome a slight change in scenery. Contact Captains Zh'Kor and Desaj with the orders... and make sure they coordinate with Starbase 39-Sierra, we dont want it to appear like we're building up forces in that region."
-The assistant nods once as she makes note of it on her PADD-
"Also, Rear Admiral Kalavek is requesting additional ships be added to the 22nd's available roster. She's specifically asking for more wartime capable vessels, Sir. I took the liberty of listing all current 22nd Mobile assets, their combat readiness, capabilities, and current status. Also included are several vessels nearing completion that I feel might meet with both of your approvals, Sir. With your authorization, I could send the request for these vessels to Starfleet Command immediately."
-Donaldson reviews both lists and nods his understanding- Meranda does have a point. The last meeting I had with Fleet Admiral Quinn, I got the growing feeling Command wishes to scale back Starfleet militarily due to current events..."
-He moves on to the list of available vessels and stops at one- "The Coronado and Challenger, The Monitor and... The Diligent, huh? Good choice. The Solbianca-Class has enough punch for two cruisers and you know damn well Meranda's gonna drool over the prospect of getting her hands on another. Send the request." -nods once as he looks up -
-The assistant types away at the padd- "Excellent, Sir."
"Moving on to foreign affairs, General Braxus wishes to thank the Federation and especially the 22nd Mobile for all its done to help secure the Klingon Empire these last few months."
-she moves down the list-
"The Venetians are requesting Medicals supplies following an outbreak of Rigellian Flu, and the Tholian Ambassador is demanding the 22nd stay clear of their space and Tholian business. I believe he's referring to the Sentinel's last mission, Sir."
"The intel they grabbed about the new Tholian Cruiser?" -asked the Admiral-
-The assistant replied and nodded once firmly- "Yes, Sir."
-Donaldson stroked his beard as he thought for a moment-
"Send General Braxus two casks of Bloodwine, 2309 should do nicely. Tell him we'll both drink a cask when we're standing on Qo'noS over J'mpok's dead body. He'll get a kick out of that." -he said smiling-
"Also, have the Portland divert to Venetian space. I know the Rigellian Flu is deadly to Venetian physiology so they could use a fully staffed medical ship."
-the Assistant nods once- "What should we tell the Tholian Ambassador, Sir?"
"Tell him the Eta Eridana Sector isnt under Tholian control yet, we have full authority to conduct business in and around Klingon controlled space. If he or the rest of the Tholian Assembly have issues with that, bring it to the Emperor Kahless."
"Understood, Admiral."
"On to shipboard business if I may, Sir...." -said the assistant after she made the necessary notes-
"...Commander T'Pang has just received word of a death in the family. She's requesting leave to return to Vulcan to handle the matter, Sir."
-A deep frown marks the Admiral's face- "Granted. Have the Commander come to my office before she leaves. Also, draw up a letter of condolence to the family and send my heartfelt sympathy for their loss. I know Vulcans cant fully appreciate the gesture, but they will understand the meaning behind it."
"Right away , Sir."
-Donaldson turned his chair so he was facing the large expanse of windows behind his desk. He stared out into the great unknown, sipping his coffee as was his routine every morning-
