Star Date: 88078.79 Personnel: Dr. Amlat Hulm Location: USS Avalon in orbit with Memory Alpha Log title: Raiders, Search and Rescue
The USS Avalon arrived at the Sol system to rendezvous with the U.S.S Lafayette under the leadership of Commander Winegard. The U.S.S. Mystic had gone missing in the Eridan Belt, while investing Raiders and possible shield-penetrating technology that they possess, and Starfleet was requesting support in trying to determine the cause of of the disappearance, find the distress signal of the Mystic, as well as trying to ascertain the status of any survivors.
Upon arriving in the Eridan belt, we quickly searched for known Starfleet frequencies. After triangulating a probable location, we traveled to an unknown system in the Eridan Belt to investigate further. While in this system, we did not find the Mystic. Under Commander Winegard's orders, however, a sensor beacon was placed upon a large asteroid in the system.
We triangulated the next position with Starfleet signals as a system 6536-Delta. Sensors showed weak life signs coming from the main planet in the system, as well as Starfleet radiation signatures. Upon beaming planetside, we found the wreckage of a Federation escape pod. Around the escape pod were heightened traces of metallic signatures. Exploring further, we found another escape pod, with the dead bodies of Starfleet personnel littered around it. I tried to save a crewman, but was unable to properly stabilize her.
The heightened metallic signatures turned out to be metal needles composed of a metal called Adamantaeum, and covered in a powerful neural poison called Hydrodemizendioxied. We took samples to ascertain if an antidote could be constructed for this poison.
To our surpise, we found out that under UV light, the Adamantaeum crumbles and turns to dust. The ultimate stealth weapon! An antidote for the poison was later concocted by the Lafayette's medical officer.
Upon arriving in another unexplored system, we found the remains of the Mystic, with another ship hulk floating by her. This turned out to be a trap, and we were ambushed by the Raiders, who attacked us with rods made out of this same metal. The Avalon escaped under direct order from Commander Winegard, and made it out of system with all of our data intact. As of this time, I am unable to ascertain the status of the Lafayette, although i am hopeful that she made it out. I am going to begin working on the nature of this metal, as well as contact Command to ascertain the status of the Lafayette.

Within the depths of the larger raider ship a prisoner of great importance was held. The hallways were dark and gloomy. The corners and some of the bulkheads were outlined with violet hue giving these passages away’s a nightmarish feeling. Among the bowels of this Mora Flagship horrific screams and sinister laughter could be heard. As the Crew of the Mystic were tortured to breaking point in efforts to reveal secrets that its captain desired most.
Shackled up from the ceiling a older balled headed man hung with his arms above his head. Blooded and battered one of his eyes remained swollen shut. His Starfleet uniform torn in specific places from the various instruments used to cause him torment. Though despite the destruction of his ship, the death of his crew. He hung alive, and although he had several wounds the raiders continued to fill him with adrenaline to keep him up to the task.
She slowly stepped in from the darkness beyond. When Admiral Stokoff regarded her with a glance from his one dyeing eye she was short like all the rest of them though this one was different. This one commanded respect as the others, the male crewmen particularly bowed in her presence. She finally came forth to stand before the admiral. Filled with their vile drugs he should have been dead but his captors had taken great pains to keep him alive.
Before she spoke to him she spoke in her native tongue with the superviseor of this horror.
“Tell me? Have you learned anything?” The Raider Captain asked.
“Just, Name and Rank,” The other female responded.
“I see”
Then the Raider Captain walked up to the man and in his final moments of defyents he spit up on her. The enemy captain simply whipped the spit and blood from her smooth soft cheek and smiled darkly. The sight bewildered the Admiral.
“Tell me Admiral, Where is my Sister?” She asked softly.
The Admiral laughed at her.
“I wouldn’t tell you if I knew.”
“Oh I know you Know Admiral,” she responded.
“Is that a fact?”
“It is,” she said dangerously.
Then she made gesture with her hand silently placing orders to those around her and they scrambled about to carry them out. The moment in the darkness forced the admiral’s attention away from the new interrogator. As time went on she continually asked him where her sister was, and he defiantly held back against all pains.
Finally the Aganonizor came. A device placed inside an obsidian box and as it was opened and the female raider picked it up and began strapping it to her wrist and for arm. The Admiral caught a glimpse of it in the gloom. It was a simple claw like device that had two long sharp rods coming off it. Then the admiral cried in horror as he couldn’t take the pains no more. He knew the information she sought. What Admiral didn’t? The news of this new enemy was on ever dask of the command staff and he was ordered to handle the recon there possible territory with a small task force. Until they descended upon their recon group and defeated them.
“You see Admiral, I believe you out here looking for me.” She explained as she buckled the device to her forearm.
“That your mission was to scout out where my glorious race resides,” She continued.
The Admiral shook his head in dread. If she already knew the answers what more was his reason to endure the torture. On the fence no of committing treason and betraying his fellow officers he looked back at the elegant and beautiful female now strapping a sinister looking device to her arm. His thoughts ran wild. What in the world could have made these people like this? What wronging had its neighbors done to them to make torturer into an art?
“So then Admiral, I offer you this-” She said with a pause.
The female had the admiral’s attention now. He looked upon her as his arms held him in place from over his head. Exposing his old armpits and ribs and chest all marked with a history of torturer from the last four days. “I’ll let you free to be found by a Federation Vessel, If you tell me where my sister is,” She said in an serious voice.
“Alright… Alright,” the Admiral said defeated now. The pains he had endured were beyond any Klingon torturer imanagtable. Who knew what horrific damage that device she had on her arm could cause as well. All he wanted to do was go home, and see his grand children again. Why must he be destroyed to defend the secrets of a female that Starfleet was unlawfully holding? This thinking seized his mind perhaps it was the torturer that warped the truth of that matter, perhaps this was the truth all the mattered was he no longer wanted to be hanging here.
“Fleet Daedalus Omega, she’s kept in secure location on board the Zepar. The details of her holding I do not know. I only know what was referenced in a memo.” The Admiral finally confessed.
The female nodded and then struck him in the belly and pressed the button down. The device became active and did its work. The long rods sent neutron pulses threw out his body’s nerve cells. The body contorted and jerked left and right as the cells passed out commands to the muscles that weren’t the Admiral’s own will. Cell by cell each one failed after receiving too many neutrons and died. The damage left to the admiral was serious, perhaps even paralyzing him for the rest of his life. Then the female turned and barked orders.
“Send this admiral back to his people,” she yelled at the minor crewmen. Then she regarded the more important ones.
“Get me all Information on the Zepar. The Captain, It’s Classification, the Weaponry, Location, and how many ships that belong to this Fleet Daedalus Omega.” When she was done listing all her orders the males and females cleared the torture chamber to do as they told. After all none of them watned to be on the receiving side of an Aganzior.

From: Dr. Amlat Hulm, in orbit with Memory Alpha To: Commander Winegard, USS Lafayette Re: Search and Rescue
Commander,
I am sending you this message in the hopes that it finds you well. After the recent events, I am just now back into communications range, due to the systems malfunctions the raiders caused. I was yanked violently out of warp, off course in Romulan space. I trust that you made it out alright as well, and I escaped with our data intact. I will see you soon for debriefing.
To Health,
Dr. Amlat Hulm, Captain U.S.S. Avalon

To: Daedalus Omega Command From: Commander Ethan Winegard Stardate: 87910.27 Subject: After action report – Search and Rescue
The USS La Fayette and the USS Avalon, under the command of Lieutenant Commander Almat Hulm, were dispatched to assist the USS San Diego in the search for the USS Mystic under the command of Rear Admiral Vladimir Stokoff. The Mystic and its escorts were reported missing near the Eridan Belt.
When we arrived we were tasked with placing communications relays in outlying systems in order to enhance the task forces ability to detect emergency distress beacons. So we proceeded to system Pi Kappa where we managed to place a relay on one of the larger asteroids around the second planet in the system. The placement of the relay took place without incident. I commend Lieutenant Xoeni on her excellent piloting skills which allowed the operation to go smoothly and safely/
The Task group moved on to a near by system, System Chi Theta 421. WE detected unusual radiation signatures about the one of the moons in the system. The planetoid was class C with a thin but breathable atmosphere. Upon closer analysis the radiation appeared to be Federation in origin, so we beamed down to investigate.
We found wreckage from escape pods from the missing ships. Unfortunately all passengers from those pods were found dead. They had been murdered by unknown enemy forces. From the shrapnel found on scene it is safe to assume that the newly discovered ‘Raider’ faction is responsible. We retrieved the bodies and collected samples for analysis. However, the samples seemed to be designed to decay under UV light and thus our teams were unable to make a full analysis. However, to the credit of our science team, lead by Lieutenant Commander Hulm, we were able to isolate a neurotoxin coating from the shrapnel and derive an anti-toxin. Our science team leaders should present a full report on their findings.
We received a hail from the San Diego indicating that they were picking up a distress beacon from the Mystic. The source was a lifeless system, designated B-300. Our task group proceeded to investigate. We found the Mystic in the system, heavily damaged yet mostly intact with survivors on board. The La Fayette approached the Mystic in order to rescue the survivors. I ordered the Avalon to hang back in case there were enemy forces in the area.
During the rescue operations we were engaged by two ‘Raider’ vessels. I ordered the Avalon to retreat in order to ensure that our findings in System Chi Theta 421 could be relayed to command. The La Fayette remained behind in order to delay the enemy forces. The logic was simple the La Fayette could survive more damage than the Avalon. The Avalon escaped with only moderate damage. The La Fayette took significantly more damage and 300 casualties. On a positive not it was discovered that UV light will damage ‘Raider’ projectiles and reduce their damage potential by at least twenty percent.
In retrospect seeing as the scenarios was so obviously a trap and based on what we know about how dangerous the ‘Raiders’ are it was foolish to have taken my task group into that situation without backup. I blame myself for the resultant loss of life and destruction.
However, I want to acknowledge the outstanding work of the science team. Lieutenant Commander Hulm proved to be a capable leader and I would like to recommend him for two merits for his work on analyzing the ‘Raider’ samples and his work on developing an anti-toxin. I want to recognize Lieutenant Zoeni for her extraordinary efforts throughout this mission. For her top-notch piloting skills and her work on the research of the anti-toxin I recommend her for one merit. I give her one Recommendation for her quick thinking during the engagement, where she offered up the suggestion to utilize UV light to damage ‘Raider’ projectiles. Also because she was injured she deserves to be awarded the purple ribbon.

Search and Rescue - Part One
The three Orion syndicate thugs began to encircle Ethan Winegard. In this dark back alley there was little chance that anyone was coming to rescue him. In fact if he died here Ethan couldn’t even be sure how long it might be before anyone found the body. If he was going walk away from this he was going to have to fight his way out. The one in the center came at him with a wild right hook that Ethan easily blocked with his left arm. At the same time he stepped into his attacker and dealt a right elbow blow to his chin, shattering it. A swift right kick to the Orion thug’s knee sent him sprawling to the ground unconscious from the pain. Ethan could see the look of shock and fear of the faces of the other two. He intended that by the time it wore off they too would be on the ground. The moment was shattered by the sound of his communicator chime.
“Computer pause program.” Ethan yelled out angrily, the world around him froze in place.
Ethan tapped his comm. Badge, “Winegard here, go ahead commander.” He responded.
“Commander Winegard This Is Commander Honda.” The voice over the comm. stated and then paused briefly, Ethan wondered if it was for dramatic effect, “I have mission orders, for your ship.” Commander Honda continued, “At this moment you are to contact Admiral Valoura for mission briefing.” “Understood.” “Computer end program.” The dark back alley scene disappeared replaced by the black walls with orange grid of the holodeck. Ethan turned and headed for the door, his destination was the secure communications room.
Ethan walked at a brisk pace down the corridor toward the communications room when he spotted young junior Lieutenant Xoeni. Xoeni was newly assigned to his ship and Ethan had yet to decide how he felt about that. It was his inclination not to trust her. He didn’t like her casual attitude toward discipline. And he didn’t know what to make of her unusually long stint as an ensign. Of course there was the incident with Durmas, which was of course a sealed file so he didn’t exactly know what happened but there were rumors. Either was Ethan had no intention of trusting her, especially not with the lives of him and his crew without testing her out completely.
“Lieutenant.” Ethan addressed her as he approached. “Commander” Xoeni replied Ethan gave her a cursory examination; she was dressed in combat fatigue trousers along with some sort of tube top. It was hardly regulation physical training clothing, Ethan frowned, “We are on alert, I need you to beam back to the La Fayette, get back in uniform and head to shuttle bay 1 and get the medevac shuttle ready for flight.” He ordered. “Yes Commander.” Xoeni replies sharply, and then taps her com badge, “Lafayette, one to beam up” “I'll get you further order when I have more information.” Ethan adds as an after thought then he watches as the transporter effect surrounds Xoeni and she is pulled apart at the quantum level. As the light from the transporter effect faded Ethan turned and continued on to the Communications room. ---------------------------------------------------------
Ethan Took a seat at the communications terminal, “Commander Winegard, Authorization code Winegard-Alpha-4-7.” He stated.
After a few moments the computer responded, “Authorization accepted.” “Open a channel to Admiral Valoura.” The image on the screen changed from black with the federation logo to an image of Admiral Valoura at her desk, “Commander Winegard this is Admiral Valoura.” She stated quickly. Ethan was shock at how quickly the admiral had responded. He took her rapid response as an indication of just how serious the situation was, “Go ahead Admiral.” He replied.
“Commander, we have a situation brewing. USS Mystic has gone missing in the Eridan Belt.” The Admiral began explaining.
“The mystics, isn’t that admiral Stokoff's ship?” Ethan asked.
“It is.” She said, her voice was devoid of emotion and her face was expressionless. Ethan thought to himself how Vulcan she really was.
“We are putting together a rescue task force to enter the belt and search for him.” The admiral continued, “its mission was to investigate the possibility of where these ‘Raiders’ territory may begin.” “Understood.” Ethan answered; the prospect of engaging the raiders was disconcerting at best. ”USS San Diego has been dispatched. It has been 24 hours now since the Mystic and its two escort ships have not checked in Commander. We recommend you round up whatever starships that are available and processed to the Eridan belt immediately.” She said. Ethan understood her recommendation as the order that it was. “We'll dispatch a search team immediately.” Ethan answered, then after a very brief pause, “one question.” He prompted. “Yes Commander?” “If we encounter hostile forces, what are our orders?” “Standard General Orders remain as standing orders.” “Understood.” “Your mission is not to combat Commander, Locate the Ships, identify what has occurred, rescue if possible.” The Admiral added. “Aye admiral.” “Admiral Valoura out.” The screen went dark again, once more displaying the Federation seal. Ethan sat there in the dimly lit communications room pondering the implications of these orders for several minutes, and then turned his attention to assembling a fleet. It wouldn’t be easy most Deadalus Omega assets were deployed to engagements elsewhere.
Ethan opened up a secure fleet channel “Commander Winegard to any available Daedalus Omega ships come in.” He began; the wait for a reply was mere minutes but seemed much longer. “This is Lieutenant Commander Hulm, go ahead” Came the audio only reply. “What is your position Lieutenant Commander Hulm?” “I am in orbit over Memory Alpha, sir,” Hulm replied, “Aboard the USS Avalon.” “I need you to rendezvous with the La Fayette in Sol system as soon as possible.” “I will be there on the double, sir.” Hulm answered, and then asked, “Is there an emergency, sir?” “There is, you will receive further orders on arrival.” “Understood. En route, Amlat out.”
Once more the screen was dark, the
As Ethan stood up to leave his personal communicator chimed, “Lt Xoeni to Commander Winegard. Evac is primed and ready Sir” she stated.
Ethan gave his communicator a quick tap, “acknowledged lieutenant stand by for further orders.” He answered.
----------------------------------------------------
Bridge of the USS La Fayette
“Captain we are receiving a message from the USS Avalon.” Tactical Officer Assemun announced.
“One screen!” Ethan shouted as he stood up from his command chair and took a couple steps toward the view screen.
The image of Lieutenant Commander Hulm filled the screen. Hulm was a young and by Bajoran standards a very attractive Bajoran male. Ethan glanced over toward his tactical officer, who happened to be a young Bajoran female; he noticed the she was smiling. Ethan wasn’t smiling, he had something of a problem with science officers as ship captains and now he had to rely on one as his only backup in a very difficult situation. Ethan was about as unhappy with this situation as a person could be.
“Commander, I have transwarped to Sol System, sir. I stand ready to rendezvous” Hulm explained. “Understood, form up along side the La Fayette.” Ethan replies without enthusiasm “Aye, sir.” “The USS Mystic and her escorts have not reported in. it has been 24 hours since they were scheduled to do so.” Ethan started to explain. “Where was she assigned?” “They were searching the Eridan Belt.” Ethan stated, then a short pause as if considering if to share the next bit of information, “For a group of enemies know as the "Raiders a very dangerous group with powerful weapons capable of penetrating shields." ”I see.” Hulm replied.. Ethan was not sure he did understand but continued, “At any rate our orders are to travel to the Eridan Belt and search for the Mystic.” Ethan stated, “Determine what happened and if possible rescue her. “Understood, Sir.” Hulm replied, “With any luck, we will find that they had a malfunctioning subspace transmitter” “You orders for now are to warp out of Sol, lay in a course for the Eridan belt.”
“Are we to engage enemy ships if present?” Hulm asked. “We will determine that should the situation arise.” “Understood, sir. Departing Sol system with your permission.” ”permission granted.” “En route...Amlat out.” The main view switches back to its default setting and the image from the ships forward cameras fills the screen. Commander Winegard watches as the Avalon engages its warp drives. With a flash of light the ship suddenly accelerates to superluminal velocity leaving behind nothing but a trail of light and even that is gone within seconds. Then Ethan gives the command and the La Fayette jumps to warp speed following the Avalon on the trip toward the Eridan Belt.
Captian’s Log Stardate - 88079.73
The USS Mystic under the command of Rear Admiral Vladimir Stokoff has gone missing near the Eridan Belt. The USS San Diego has already been deployed to search for distress signals on specific federation signal. They believe they may have a location and have requested a more prepared task force for such rescue attempts. Starfleet command has given the mission to Daedalus Omega Fleet and they in turn have assigned it to me. I have gathered what all available ships and thus the USS La Fayette and the USS Avalon are currently en route to the Eridan Belt to assist in the search efforts.

Search and Rescue - Part Two
-----------------------------------------------------
Bridge USS La Fayette Location: Bolarus Sector
“We have no military clearance to cross into the neutral zone. We can get to the Belt by pressing our course beyond Z-6” Dasenea stated
Dasenea or Das as Ethan typically referred to her was currently serving as both the first officer and the ship’s science officer. She was also a joined Trill. The Trill was a species that Ethan knew little about. But Das’ case was even more peculiar seeing as she was ‘joined’, or in other words her body was serving as a host for a symbiotic life form that was native to Trill. Ethan tried not to think about it too much, all he needed to know was she was one of his best officers.
“I have plotted a course that will allow us to avoid Romulan space all together captain.” Das stated. “Understood, make it so. And transmit that course to the Avalon”
“Aye Captain”
-----------------------------------------------------------
Bridge USS La Fayette Location: Eridan Belt
“Open a channel to the fleet.” Ethan stated.
“Aye sir” Assemun responded then hit some keys on her console, “channel open sir.”
“USS Avalon spread out we will begin a standard search pattern. But stay within visual range.” He ordered. “Understood” The Avalon responded. “Sir we have the USS San Diego on sensors.” as says looking up from the science console.
“Hold those orders, Avalon.” Ethan orders over the fleet channel, “I want to check in with the San Diego first.” “Understood, Commander” ”Range to the San Diego?”
“7.45 light years”
“Plot and intercept course. And hail them.”
“Aye sir”
“USS La Fayette to San Diego” “We have you on scope La Fayette.” Ethan sits in the command chair and presses his comm. Switch, “Affirmative, what is the situation so far?” “Our Sensors have displayed several possible systems that the ship might have gone lost in. We need to triangulate a vector. If you can set up temporary sensor array in the surrounding systems we maybe able to pin point any emergency beacon. Contact us when you have done so Commander.” “Understood” Ethan closes the channel and turns to his first officer.
“Commander, we have located a suitable star system .73 light years out. System Pi Kappa according to Federation survey records” She informs him “Ok Das.” Ethan says, and then turns to his helmsman, “Helm set a course for system Pi Kappa.” “Setting Course Captain”
Bridge USS La Fayette Location System Pi Kappa
“Open a channel to the Avalon again.”
“Aye Commander”
“Avalon spread out and patrol the area.” “Understood” “Sir, we have arrived in Pi Kappa.” The ship’s Vulcan Operations officer announced. “Planetoid Kappa Pi 2, it is a class J gas giant.” Das called out, her voice was tinged with excitement and curiosity. “Good, Sotot get those sensor beacons ready.” Commander Winegard ordered. “Communication Array is ready Commander; Recommend we plant it on an Asteroid.” “Understood, find me a suitable one.” “Avalon to Lafayette” Ethan presses his comm. Switch, “Avalon go ahead.” “We seem to be having sensor troubles.” “Understood, can you repair?” “Working on it, Commander”
“How long will it take?”
“15 minutes, Commander.” “Understood” “Commander have we located a suitable location for planting our communications array.” Sotot said not bothering to look up from the sensor screen. Ethan pressed the button on the comm. Panel,”Bridge to Shuttle bay one, come in Lt Xoeni.” “Lt Xoeni here Commander” “Location of that Asteroid Sotot” “Out beyond the asteroid belt” Sotot stated, “175 mark 87.” Ethan re-opened the channel to the shuttle bay, “Lieutenant Xoeni stand by for launch.” “Standing by for launch” Ethan looked to his Operations Officer, “Have those sensor buoys loaded on the runabout.” "I am now getting data on the selected rock. Ideal for plantation Commander. Flat topped and made of metamorphic material.” The Science Officer stated quickly and returned to monitoring the sensors “Ok, good.” Ethan replied quickly, “Let me know when the Runabout is loaded. Sotot, go with Lieutenant Xoeni and see to the deployment of the beacons.” “Yes sir.” She replied and quickly stood up from her station and motion toward a nearby operations officer to take her place. She then headed for the turbo lift. Ethan tapped the comm. Panel, “Lieutenant Xoeni” “Go ahead Commander.” “Once you’re given the all clear you are to fly over to the asteroid that Sotot designates in order to deploy sensor beacons.” “Yes Sir.” “Oh and keep a channel open at all times.”
Ethan turns to his tactical officer, “Put that rock on the main viewer.”
Moments later the asteroid is on screen. The rock is an uninteresting mix of brown and grey colored rock with patches of dirty ice on its surface. If it wasn’t for the fact that it made an ideal location to plant their communications beacon, the rock would be of no interest of value to them. After several minutes the bridge received the signal that they were waiting for. “Xoeni to La Fayette, taking off” the lieutenant stated over the comm. channel.
Ethan frowned; the Lieutenant’s casual attitude toward regulations irritated him. Ethan monitored the main view as the small craft maneuvered its way toward the massive rock. Ethan assumed that the procedure should be routine but he didn’t feel like taking chances, plus the regulations were specific.
He tapped the comm. panel, “Bridge to transporter room one, lock on the signal from the crew of the runabout in case they need to be beamed out.” He stated. “Aye sir,”
Ethan returns to monitoring the main viewer. The Runabout carefully approaches the asteroid and after a careful application of main thrust and vessel’s RCS thrusters the runabout matches the rocks orbit and speed. Then it slowly glides in for a soft landing on the rocky surface.
Ethan can’t help but be impressed with the pilot’s skill “So she can fly.” He says out load to no on in particular.” He get a few curious looks and smile from around the bridge.
“Xoeni to Lafayette, we've arrived sir.” The Lieutenant announces over the open channel. “Acknowledged Lieutenant”
“Commander Winegard. Permission to commence space walk” Sotot asks.
“Go ahead with the operation.” Ethan responded over the comm. “Commander” The tactical officer, Assemun say to get Ethan’s attention.
“Yes, Lieutenant”
“Avalon reports that they have restored sensor capabilities.”
“Good have them begin a patrol the area.”
“Yes sir.”
Ethan turns back toward the main view. He realizes that he can’t see what is going on the current magnification, “Increase magnification.”
The helmsman presses a few buttons, “Aye sir increasing to 100 x magnifications.”
At that magnification Ethan was able to make out two figures in pressure suits working on the surface. He could see that they had made a significant level of progress toward setting up the communications array. Again his attention was pulled away from the main viewer.
“USS Avalon has moved a considerable distance Commander.” Das tells him, looking up from the sensor screen. Ethan taps the comm. panel”La Fayette to Avalon, don't stray too far.” “Understood, Lafayette We just picking up some information, we are moving back into range now. I'm showing one more anomaly out of communication range “Don't bother with it Avalon, just keep an eye on sensors.” Then over the open channel to the runabout crew Sotot’s voice is heard, “I have... activated the sensor array Commander. You can link up with it at any time.”
“Affirmative Sotot” Ethan replies and turns to his first officer, “Ok Das commence link.” Das presses several buttons on the science panel, “Connection Established.” Then she turns to Ethan”We are done here Commander, We can move on to the next system to place the other beacons.”
“Ok runabout return to shuttle bay.” Ethan orders over the open channel. “Returning Sir”
Ethan hit the comm. panel, “Avalon prepare to warp out of system.” “Understood” Ethan returns to monitoring the main viewer. By this time the shuttle has left the surface and is slowly making it way back to the ship. Ethan patiently observes the tiny vessel until it finally leaves the field of view of the forward cameras.
Some time later, “Xoeni to Commander Winegard, we've landed in shuttle bay 1.” “Very good Lieutenant, nice work” Ethan responds then turns to the helmsman,”Helm lay in a course out of the system”
