Personal Log
Ensign Zem Sieloh - Operations
Stardate : (The day after her arrival on starbase 220 - 1/03/16)
:: CODE AUTH: ******-***-**-*****-*
:: COMMAND: ENCRYPT LOG
:: COMMAND: LOCAL ONLY LOG, DO NOT TRANSMIT TO STARFLEET
[Log Begins]
Zem is seem pacing in her temporary quarters of the star base. She rested her fingertips on the side of her forehead and appeared to be debating with herself. Finally she sunk into a nearby sofa chair and let out a tired sigh.
"I had a rather restless night sleeping once I arrived here on the star base. I suspect it is nerves and a bit of excitement upon finally getting my assignment and making my way here. This has been a long time coming and I still feel as though I am in a dream."
She patted her hands on the chair, attempting to make sure it was actually there and she wasn't just imagining it.
"It does still feel like a dream.. In fact I had a rather vivid one last night. Part of the reason I didn't sleep so well I would imagine. All of the stress I have put on myself brought about this wild dream where I found myself in the middle of some strange sort of murder mystery. Some wildly inappropriate coroner officer was the culprit.
"Myself and a number of other officers split off to search for clues to an Ensigns death and we had to witness a ridiculously botched autopsy. It was very strange to say the least. I did however manage to do a little prying into the computer systems during our investigations. It was a little worrying how easy I was able to access private files and get past certain security protocols. I was prepared to take this up with a superior officer until I convinced myself this was just one of those ridiculous stress dreams. I do however hope to exercise my knowledge in the fleets security systems and see how deep I can go before solving ways to improve their protection.
"I've taken some time to meditate and read over some files on the ship I am being assigned to so perhaps my stress and worry over this new position will dissipate and I will be prepared for whatever may happen. I'm quite confident things will go more smoothly than what my wild imagination can come up with."
Zem gave a slight grin toward the video feed and pushed out of her seat to go pour herself a drink.
"End log."
