transcript excerpt from 5th round of preliminary questioning concerning activities of Project Salvation. Federation Science Council Research Oversight Subcommittee // Stardate 93441.97 ....
Chairman T'Grav rubbed his temples and snorted an irritated snort as this continued, it was only the beginning of this mess and already he had decided he hated this woman. She had to know the depth of her involvement and the gravity of what this could mean to the Federation, initially after the first round he had wanted her jailed just for evasions to his answers however right now he wished he could have the bailiff just shoot her.
Across the table Commander Razzor waited for him to 'repeat' his question again.
"...Operative Aquarius...."
"Comander Razzor..." She politely interrupted.....AGAIN.
"...Opera..."
She cleared her throat quickly into the pickup.
"For the record you were Operative Aquarius of Project Salvation..."
"Asked and Answered..." She said in a sing song voice.
"Please....for the record...again...verify..."
"Yes. I. was. Operative. Aquarius. for. Project. Salvation." She smiled accenting each word slowly.
Around him the other committee members squirmed in their seats. Each were long time members of his committee, however Rear Admiral Carl Haller was new to it, their Starfleet liaison was a long time ally of his who had lobbied for an was accepted to serve with T'Grav on this subcommittee for the purposes of the hearings, he did not seem a fan of the younger officer either.
"Commander...lets stay with the record then shall we?" The Admiral quipped back at her sharply.
"Well as you know Admiral, with all due respect, Project Salvation is currently in a total coma...where it belongs...I don't think I am an Operative of anything sir, the very word stems from operation and operating and since Project Salvation is totes not operating hence meaning it has ceased operations...there isn't like a lot for me to operate...so I really cant be called a operative...Hence the name is disingenuous."
Admiral Haller smirked at that.
T'Grav sighed. "Fine...Commander Razzor back to my point concerning the reports on your summary of the Iconian Gateways and the Preserver tonal language decoding algorithm you created...our expert has testified..."
"Expert?" Liz blinked. "Seriously? How is he an expert?"
"Yes the current administration's science advisor, Dr. Cornwall...advises the President of the United Federation of Planets on all matters related to science." He said smugly. "I do believe that we can qualify him as an expert...do you not agree Op...Commander Razzor?"
She clicked her tongue. "You mean Frances? Seriously? Like you can call him an expert if you wish...but to be honest I would have trouble calling someone that had a C minus average in quantum physics back in college, an expert...but that is soooo just me." She shook her head. "I mean we are totally only discussing hyper-dimensional travel that crosses time and space between galaxies...what do we like even need to rely on math for?"
She shrugged helplessly and smiled again, as some in attendance in the gallery chuckled at her response.
Admiral Haller snarled some at her. "Commander..."
T'Grav snorted once more. "Fine we can swing back to that subject...now can you please tell me why we have not heard directly from your former leader...the Director himself?"
"No..."
Admiral Haller sat up straighter. "No? Commander you swore and oath..."
She cut him off as politely as she could. "I said no...because I like have no clue why he isn't directly testifying...we haven't spoken since I broke his Agency..."
T'Grav looked up from his PADD at that. "Commander..."
"I think he is a tad irked at me at the moment..."
"Well to be honest commander, since he and others like him supported your efforts to tear down the Project...perhaps he and you can explain to us why you took it upon yourselves to dismantle our largest intelligence apparatus." The Admiral shook his head in some mild disgust at her.
"I don't know sir...for myself I guess I would call it an attack of morality and conscience...I decided to go after criminals that were intentionally experimenting, totally going all Mengele on innocent sentient beings..."
The Admiral bristled some at her historical reference. "Yes operations you personally had a hand in aiding early on..."
T'Grav leaped in on this line of attack. "My dear operative you must know, there are many present here on this committee and several highly placed individuals in the government, who have looked over the very data you unclassified and believe you should be rotting in a prison." He grinned smugly at her now. "Not sitting there being evasive and witty at our expense...In point of fact..."
Admiral Haller cut in with. "Especially given your record acting against the interests of the Federation...not to mention your 'friends' on both the Adagio and Sentinel crews...they should be facing..."
Liz cut him off, clearly the mention of, and the implied threat the crews of both of those ships angered her. "You aren't going to put any of them in prison or even going to charge any of them Admiral..." she shook her head. "You aren't going to end up putting me in prison either sir."
"And why the hell is that Commander." Admiral Haller snarled at her.
"Yes...do enlighten this committee my dear operative..."
Liz meet both of their gazes now, her tone shifting to a more serious professional tone. "Because at the end of the day sir,..Mr. Chairmen...you will need us and those like us..." She nodded conceding part of their point. "Yes the Federation is now a more vulnerable place...this entire part of the galaxy is and we had a part in doing that...but we are also the ones best qualified to defend it. There are stem projects that worked under Salvation and good independent officers and crews out there that will always take a stand against the shadows of corruption and evil...even if it is our people doing this...or worse...turned a blind eye to it for their own personal reasons..." She leveled a gaze at Admiral Haller for the last part...
"I came here voluntarily to give testimony...not play just another round of the blame game and who has the right to fill a void left by an agency that grew way to large to control..." She picked up her PADD and began to rise. "So since I came here willingly ... you want to arrest me? then do so...if not know you will know where to find me until these investigations are done...but keep in mind while you all pay games in here...there are a lot of dangerous things out there no longer under Salvation's watchful eye...and a lot of work to be done to help those that suffered ... however if I am arrested...I can totes promise you I soooo wont be this cooperative when we meet again to hold your hearings...and if you go after anyone on the Adagio and Sentinel...I'm soo gonna be a bitch to deal with..."
"Commander..." T'Grav started.
"Soooo am I under arrest sirs?" She stood awaiting their answer.
Haller snarled some, his voice low. "No...not as of yet Commander."
Liz nodded. "Then I am done for today...oh and for the record...here is where I would soo drop my microphone..."
She turned and headed out of the gallery under the escort of two of Haller's guards.
T'Grav sighed as he watched her go. He was sure now, that he hated her. She had to be brought to heel and shown her place before them and their committee, he could tell Haller felt the same. T'Grav smirked, he was going to rather enjoy this eventually. He collected himself and cleared his throat...
"Let us adjourn for now...we shall we convene after dinner for Operative Leo's 4th round of preliminary testimony..."

Chairman T'Grav's Subcommittee Chambers during a recess
Chairman T'Grav nodded to his secretary, as Admiral Haller quietly entered the room. "Yes why thank you Grace, see that this deposition gets to the proper authorities," He looked over at his Starfleet liaison adding. "It would seem we have yet another Operative who wishes a court martial..."
Haller smirked a nasty little turn of his thin lips. "Who does that leave us with now?"
T'Grav turned to his left "Why thank you Grace that will be all for now." She nodded and departed his chambers. T'Grav grunted some after she was gone and picked up his PADD. "On the Director's side of this unholy mess, only Operative Leo and .... HER"
Haller shook his head. "Charge her..."
T'Grav set her jaw. "I am afraid it is not that simple my dear Admiral...she holds the key to much of what I seek..." He looked over at the officer. "Much to what we both seek."
"She is an insane loose cannon who if she had not married that ancient relic with all his connections and some how endeared herself to that hot headed upstart Honda would've been cashiered out of the service long ago..." Haller's distaste for Aquarius was very clear.
T'Grav smiled some, and nodded. "Yes but unfortunately such behavior I fear masks a brilliant and uncontrollable mind, she is an asset if she can be made to cooperate...one that would help us in both of our goals Admiral..."
Haller went to press on but the Chairman interrupted him.
"However you might be right...these last two are very vital...We will press Aquarius and charge her this time if she does not cooperate...she will of course refuse and then Carl you can arrest her for interfering with our investigation and I with contempt...and then you can throw your book at her to your heart's content if we do not get our answers out of her..."
Haller smirked. "It will be a pleasure...and then Leo?"
"Leo has only a small percentage of the information that Aquarius possesses, but yes...after Aquarius falls into this trap...we go after him and everyone Aquarius has been forcing us to stay away from...the more we charge...the more she will have to talk...and a small chance another certain Admiral other than Razzor...will peek his head out of the shadows..."
"Of course...and then we both get what we are after" Haller grinned a wicked ugly smile.
T'Grav smirked and then looked down at the record on the PADD he had been reading. "Yes...though I must admit to feeling some pity that this Doctor...Doctor Conners did not survive the war..."
Haller shook his head with disgust. "Bitch got what she deserved, if you ask me given what she was and what she did."
"You are far too short sighted Carl..." He looked up still with disappointment in his voice as he set down the PADD. "You see this Agent Bluebird would have been just as vital to us as Operative Aquarius if not more so in what we seek."
He walked over to his chamber's bay windows and looked out across the bay towards Angel Island and sighed.
"Oh yes...had this Bluebird only survived the war...she would've been QUITE valuable to me..."

Chairman T'Grav's Subcommittee Chambers during a recess
Chairman T'Grav smirked some and snorted as he entered his chamber, with a wave of his hand he dismissed his aide and secretary. He set down his briefcase and mulled over his most recent meeting with first Leo and then of course...HER...again. He loathed how dismissive and stubborn they both had become, he could not put a finger on as of yet...but both were holding back something from him. At this point such a thing had become a daily occurrence with Aquarius. She was at this time one of the only originals left from the side that had not turned renegade.
Pisces was of hardly any political use, she had gone rogue only to be saved by Aquarius during the Tigershark incident and he was happy to let her along with Aries and Scorpio rot in that gulag of a Rehab Colony he had seen them buried on. He shook his head, besides Aries and Scorpio were far too new to the organization to help him at this point.
Gemini...that was...best left as it was. The twins far to gone to be even considered human any longer. Where he had sent them was more to 'Vault' them more than anything....
As for the operatives...Virgo, Capricorn, Sagittarius, They like Pisces were of little use. Unlike her while loyal they knew little about the days before the first Tigershark incident. There was also the pressure being brought to bear to let them back to restored duty...though never again in the field of intelligence. However, Leo and Aquarius had been at the epicenter of this new mess ever since that disaster on HC-19. Right in the hub of this galaxy shaking disaster and as such were in the know. Aquarius to his dismay knew this and toyed with him. Lord, he sighed he had truly begun to hate her. It was quickly becoming time to let Admiral Haller have his way and have her arrested.
He looked up to see across his chambers stood his Starfleet liaison, Admiral Haller. The man seemed annoyed as he took a personal subspace transmission. T'Grav wondered about that only briefly as he thoughts returned to Leo. What could he be hiding...even if he knew something so would Aquarius if not more so then he...so he was not protecting her...and the man cared little for himself...
Who was Leo protecting?
Any further thoughts along came to an end as Admiral Haller ended his call with a sharp sound of disgust.
This amused T'Grav some as he had some idea who the Admiral had been speaking with.
"Problems Carl?"
The Admiral went of to T'Grav's lavish office bar and poured himself a scotch. "Yes...the situation in the Delta Quadrant...did not go as expected."
T'Grav allowed a wry smirk. "Of course it did not.."
"It was ... very sloppily handled."
T'Grav nodded.
Haller sneered. "Don't worry I'll have it addressed I was prepared for such a contingency."
"Oh I have little fear over the debacle of yours and your newest friend." He held a hand up to stop the Admiral from interruption.
"We need to go over Operative Leo's personnel record once more...."
"But what about Aquar..." Haller almost bit through his bottom lip as he was again abruptly interrupted.
"She is next for sure my dear Admiral....you though it is just that I have become very curious about someone on Operative Leo's mind..."
"Who might that be Chairman?" Haller frowned some confused.
"Why perhaps the very person he might just throw away his life for...."
The Admiral looked confused as the Chairman merely smiled to himself as he called up the file to Lieutenant Morgan Hale....

To: Chairman T'Grav, Science Oversight Subcommittee From: R. Adm. Arak Verdaan, Administrator - Project Avalon
Dear Chairman T'Grav,
Thank you for your interest in Project Avalon. I appreciate all the work you're doing on the subcommittee and frankly, I couldn't imagine anyone better for the job!
I am so very glad to answer your questions. In turn:
"We require some further information into exactly what your quite numerous programs, and currently on going Projects' long term goals are and exactly what it is you hope to gain by continueing to research them."
Our project encourages the responsible and ethical research of potentially dangerous phenomenon. Our long term goal is to, well, avoid disasters like Project Guardian.
"Further more we would also like to know more about your connection to the former Project Salvation's research."
There is very little connection between Avalon and Salvation except that, as with many projects, it was greenlighted by the Project Salvation director at one point. Other than that, our project is entirely self-contained.
For your consideration, I have attached the following reference material:
Exhibit A: IntelCon 2404 Presentation - "DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?" Infomercial Exhibit B: "Ethical Project Award Ribbon - 3rd Place" awarded 2408 Exhibit C: How to Secure Anomalies and Influence Scientific Development by R. Adm. Arak Verdaan, published 2411
Glad to be of help as always!
Signed,
/s/
Rear Admiral Arak Verdaan Administrator, Project Avalon Head of the 22nd Mobile Science Division

Transcript excerpt from 13th round of preliminary questioning concerning activities of Project Salvation. Federation Science Council Research Oversight Subcommittee // Stardate 93539.49 ....
"....I believe I have already like answered that questions manymanymanymanymanymany times now"
Chairman T'Grav snorted some and repeated. "No you have evaded such many many times now Operative Aqu..."
Liz leaned forward with a smirk as she interrupted once more "Commander Razzor..."
"Commander..." Admiral Haller warned dangerously.
"You do keep avoiding the overall encompassing issue my dear." sniffed Representative Margret Baker at her.
"Overall and encompassing are totally synonymous and redundant Ma'am..."
"Operative Aquarius, we are trying to get you to answer a question..."
"Which I have soooo totally already have done..." Liz quipped back. "For like days now..."
T'Grav groaned inwardly and pressed further. "Do you personally have any knowledge of just what Vault 33 is and of its purpose and use by Project Salvation? It is on line 4356 of the data on file 8907 and addressed again in line 12543 of the evidence file already declassified and exposed by you, yourself Operative..."
A bit of a pause then before Liz leaned back and sighed. "Could you like so repeat the question then?"
The panel shifted and groaned, T'Grav snorted in frustration once more and Admiral Haller seethed as this particular hearing was dragged into its 9th hour. T'Grav leaned forward and said directly to her. "Operative Aquarius I shall very much do so...do you have any personal knowledge of just what this Vault 33 is and its use and purpose for your Project Salvation?"
"Okies..." She mulled it over, making a show of doing so before sighing and feigning effort at having done so. "I do not recall at this time, Mister Chairman."
The panel again erupted in sighs of frustration.
"What kind of answer is that Commander?" Haller snapped at her.
"A responsive one sir?"
"Operative Aquarius care to elaborate on your answer for this committee please?" T'Grav smirked to himself, this was going wonderfully she would soon paint herself into a corner and he would finally have her. After that he would turn her over to Haller and his people for a few months just like that stubborn fool Hale and then she would talk and tell him everything he wanted to know.
"Not at this time Mister Chairman." She answered back.
"Commander I am ordering you to elaborate!" Haller yelled at her.
Liz shrugged her annoyance now starting to show. "Sure...what I mean to infer is at this exact moment in time in this 'overall encompassing' moment of time, I have in the area of full recollections a sum total of zero memories to add to this discussion."
There we some chuckles in the gallery.
"Clearly Mister Chairman..." Representative Ful'zon said through his speaker box. "We are making no progress here."
"Operative Aquarius are you going to answer any of these question today for us?" T'Grav sneered as he laid his trap.
Liz smirked and canted her head at him at this and smiled a strange smile to him. "Well technically Mister Chairman, I have answered every single one of your questions today just as I have in every one of these thirteen little lovely social gatherings..."
"Commander you have been evasive and disruptive to these proceedings since day one..." Haller sneered at her.
"But I responded to each question with an answer..." Liz returned back immediately.
"You most absolutely have not young lady!" Representative Baker challenged her right back. "You have not given one satisfactory response to any of this committee's questions.."
Liz smirked like a cat playing with a group of field mice now. "Just because you did not like or..." she looked at Admiral Haller for this. "Understand my responses...they were indeed answers Ma'am."
"Very well if that is to be your position then Operative..."
"Commander Razzor..."
Haller eyed her now with a serpent's smile as T'Grav pressed on.
"Operative Aquarius I, and speaking for this entire committee have waited for your cooperation quite long enough..."
"You mean total submission sir..." she threw in.
"And I am afraid your attempts at cooperation have fallen fall short of agreed upon conditions and like your fellow Operatives before you , you have exhausted our patience. "
Liz smirked and looked around the room just as Admiral Haller snapped his fingers. The two security officers on either side of the committee panel's podium and the pair behind her at the door leading into the room began to slowly close in on her. Her eyes darted instantly out of instinct all over the room, making note of each of the exits and going over her options as she listened to the chairman finally put an end to this charade.
"As such..." He announced officiously and loudly. "I am declaring your plea bargain concerning yourself and officers and enlisted you sought to protect is now null and void. " He sniffed at the air to allow this point to sink in deeply to her. "Admiral Haller if you would proceed from this point on now sir..." He could not help but to gloat at this point.
Admiral Haller rose to say officially. "Operative Aquarius, Commander Elizabeth Rose Razzor, you are under arrest for contempt towards this committee and on suspicion of over 24 counts of espionage and possible sedition against the United Federation of Planters." He nodded to the two pairs of Security officers. "Take her to the brig. If she resists in any way ... stun her."
Liz rose /slowly/ and drilled her gaze into T'Grav as she felt hands on either of her shoulders from a pair of guards. "You so aren't going to go after them...if you do you will regret it..."
Liz was pulled back as T'Grav smirked at her amused. "Will I now my dear operative...is that a threat?"
Over her shoulder as she was led to the doors out she yelled back at him. "YES!"
The room went silent as the doors to the chamber opened causing Liz to snap her head back around to look. She smiled huge as she watched Fleet Admiral Marzz Razzor enter the committee chambers with four of his own guards. Marzz's predatory eyes were fixed darkly at the entire committee podium his ear flat across his head and his tail snapped at the air. He was very much the stalking hunter who had just revealed himself to his prey at their final moments.
"What is the meaning of " Admiral Haller tried to bluster to the higher ranking officer but was brought up short as a massive paw was raised to silence him.
Marzz remained fixated on Chairman T'Grav as he spoke to him, a deep angry growl rumbled in his strong chest. "I am taking full and complete charge of your suspect Mister Chairman...period. End of story."
Chairman T'Grav blinked, utterly for a moment at a loss for words in the face of such controlled anger and contempt. When he found his voice, his mind was already trying to search for a way to gain the upper hand once more. "I ...I..."
"How dare you...we will not have our proceedings treated in such a bullying manner by one such..." Representative Baker tried to get out but stopped as she earned the battle hardened veteran flag officer's gaze.
"Hush Madam Representative...the Adults are speaking now.." He turned his gaze back to Chairman T'Grav and was about to speak when Admiral Haller chose that moment to overstep his bounds.
"Now Just a moment Admiral..."
"Lock it up Admiral...you are addressing a superior officer...do it now!"
The other admiral seethed in humiliation but did as ordered, going to attention as Marzz turned his attention back to the Chairman.
"What is it exactly you think you are doing Admiral Razzor?" T'Grav smirked. "Surely you do not expect this degree of nepotism to stand for long just because she is your wife..."
Marzz snarl deeply and leaned into the portly Tellerite and merely repeated so there was no mistake. "I am assuming complete responsibility for the custody of this suspect Chairman right here and right now am I fully understood."
Chairman T'Grav gulped but tried in vain to keep his composer as he managed to get out "On who's authority are you..."
"Mine" Another voice said from the chamber's door.
"Oh my god..." Haller groaned this through gritted teeth as he saw who had joined them now. The subcommittee looked up and took in the sight of Starfleet CIC Admiral Jorel Quinn standing there beside Commander Razzor and Admiral Razzor's guards. The gray haired Admiral stood down the four committee assigned officers with a simple nod to each pair before returning his gaze to the Chairman.
"Admiral Quinn.." T'Grav began to stammer out his reply
"Just a moment please Mister Chairman..." He looked to Admiral Razzor. "Admiral please escort the suspect now in your custody out of here and back to my officer if you would please."
"Would be my pleasure. " Marzz said never taking his eyes off of T'Grav and then after giving Admiral Haller one more deep glare he turned and strode back to Liz in strong purposeful strides. He took her by the upper arm even as she bounced some in place, and led her out of the chamber.
"Omigawd I am soo happy to see you baby!" she said softly to just him as she was led away.
"Don't be that pleased...you are still in the doghouse with me!" He snapped back to just her.
"Gawd you looked soooo sexy back there fuzzy!" her eyes beamed up at him.
"Shut up and keep moving ...remember...DOGHOUSE!" He smirked trying to keep the degree of amused happiness at their reunion buried deep so her could focus on his anger at her.
Back in the chamber Admiral Quinn walked down to the front of the podium and handed Chairman T'Grav a PADD. "Here sir, is a copy of my orders transferring her custody along with official requests from Admirals Razzor and Verdaan to suspend your official charges until they and the decisions that led to them can be reviewed by Starfleet JAG and an independent legal board from the Federation Counsel."
"This is an outrage Admiral Quinn..as Chairman of this subcommittee I must protest..." T'Grav sputtered out incredulously only to be interrupted by Admiral Quinn.
"I have to get back to my office Mister Chairmen, I have a busy schedule to return too...however I will be there all night tonight for us to discuss this further and can be reached there."
With that the aged Admiral turned on his heel and simply walked out leaving Chairman T'Grav, Admiral Haller, the rest of the subcommittee and the gallery to sit there in stunned silence. As he passed the threshold of the chamber's doors Quinn called back...
"Oh yes..Admiral Haller?...Stand at..ease."
With that he was gone.

Chairman T'Grav's Subcommittee Chambers during a recess
Chairman T'Grav smirked some and snorted as he entered his chamber, with a wave of his hand he dismissed his aide and secretary and Representative Baker, who had been very useful to their methods and the desired direction of his investigation. He sighed and walked to his chamber's well stocked bar and selected a nice vintage bottle of Romulan Ale, he poured himself a glass while the room's only other occupant waited for him.
"I take it this is not the news I have been waiting for?"
"No, not entirely..." Admiral Haller stood beside the chairman's desk. "The situation while still fluid is not at its desirable point."
"Meaning my dear admiral, just what exactly."
"The Adagio fought through the 'unexpected attack' by your desired 'witnesses'."
T'Grav snorted in mild disgust. "I see, now tell me Admiral just how did they manage to do that exactly? I believe I was assured that their opponents had received their flight heading as well as their shield modulation frequencies. Should this not have had a much more conventional and largely predictable outcome?" T'Grav looked directly over to the slim older man.
"As I tried to explain to you before Chairman the Adagio, her crew and her captain are anything but predictable...somehow they had modified their shields and responded the attack far quicker than expected."
"Was their bridge personnel and main engineering not targeted by these so called professionals are primary targets during the fight using highly advanced technology for boarding her?"
Admiral Haller sighed. "Yes however at this time my sources can not assess just how much damage was done to her, if any at all...or any casualties they might have sustained. However the Goblinshark was confirmed captured after sustaining near total damage..."
"That is not merely fighting through such an attack my dear admiral...that is what is known in political circles as a total ass kicking" T'Grav said in no small annoyance.
"It gets worse..." Admiral Haller said and took a long draw of his ale.
"Do go on Admiral."
"While The Adagio has now gone radio silent as far as Starfleet is concerned, her captain contacted the mining colony administrator in the Heph-Z9 star system and informed him they are directly after your witnesses, with a legally issued arrest order from Admiral Susan Compton, countersigned by Admiral Kavalek's office. Our last communications from your potential witnesses confirms this...before we lost communication from them, their facility as well as the mining colony..."
T'Grav quirked a highly annoyed brow now. "We have lost contact with our key witnesses....how?"
"Its now very clear Captain Talia has...secured the star system...and from what we gathered she has done so with the utmost aggression she is known for...then threatened the colony administrator with the occupation of his colony if he did not cooperate in finding her suspects."
"A byproduct naturally of the failed attack...this is intolerable Admiral." T'Grav snarled. 'Misters Black and White hold vital information key to what I desire..."
"Mister Chairman..." Haller began only to be stopped by the wave of T'Grav's stubby paw.
"Perhaps this can be salvaged...who do we have in the region?"
"No one sir..." Haller said. "We may have to wait and..."
"Yes yes...allow the Adagio to do her duty...and play the cards that remain after they bring them in..." T'Grav sighed "It will be messier than I had originally planned but still I will get from them what I desire"
"Yes Mister Chairman, I agree..."
"And the Sentinel?" T'Grav said walking over to his desk.
"Still out of contact, her last reported position was deep within the Hriomi Cluster..following some kind of shipboard incident that prompted their JAG officer to reach out to Admiral Compton ..they have no made any further reports since they began their first contacts..."
T'Grav nods "Yes so I have heard...the assault on the bridge? Between a Lieutenant Decia and this Lieutenant Walker?"
"Yes Mister Chairman...."
"Tell me Admiral, what do you know of these two officers?"
Admiral Haller cleared his throat and recited from memory. "If I recall both are young officers with highly distinguished records and both are highly decorated...This Decia is a recipient of the Medal of Honor..."
"I see...tell me Admiral...how much do you truly know about this Lieutenant Walker?"
"Nothing beyond her personnel jacket Mister Chairman" Haller looked at him curiously. "Why?"
"See what your friends in 'intelligence' can find out for me..." T'Grav smugly smiled. "Call it hunch..."
Haller frowned but nodded. "Yes sir...of course...but.."
T'Grav interrupted him. "Now Please Carl have a seat, i will have Carol send us up some dinner we have something far more important to discuss...Would your usual steak suffice?"
"Of course Mister Chairman..." Haller sat down into the plush leather seat. "What shall we discuss now?"
T'Grav sat and finally took a long draw of his ale before looking over to the admiral and smiled a smile without warmth.
"Tell me...what do you know about Joshua Cameron's current situation?"
Haller returned an equal smile as the steaks were ordered and plans had begun to be set into motion once more...

Chairman T'Grav's Subcommittee Chambers during a recess
Chairman T'Grav seethed, his ancestry showing clearly now with yet another growl of a snort. "HOW?"
Haller winced, he had been expecting this. "We are not....sure at this time only that the entire safe hold...was compromised by a full assault by the Adagio...the two ships are....not reporting...the base itself has gone dark..."
The Chairman advanced on the Admiral and leaned down to glare deeply into his eyes as the Starfleet officer sat in his chair. "And my witnesses?"
"In...In custody Mister Chairman..."
"BOTH?"
"Yes sir...i tried to warn you about this ship and its crew..."
"I grow as weary of the names Adagio and Sentinel my dear Admiral as I do the Pilgrim...." T'Grav snarled.
Haller nodded knowing the fits Admiral Arak had recently given T'Grav's investigation. "Yes Mister Chairman..."
"What of their promised 'secured evidence'?"
Haller sighed. "Unknown at this time...either Captain Talia and her people missed it...or they secured it and have not yet ....reported it"
"So it is in the hands of Starfleet proper then?"
"We are unsure as of yet sir....there may still be hope..." Haller offered. "The two witnesses and the secured evidence...are not in anyone's hands just yet." Haller tugged at his collar. "MY sources still confirm Admiral Compton is still on Starbase 220..awaiting the arrival of the Adagio to turn over assets and prisoners from this operation."
"I see...." T'Grav nodded. "Then perhaps we can indeed salvage much from this...time to put some pressure on the oversight committee Admiral...I am going to rattle some other trees..."
"Yes sir..."
"We are getting very close to our commencement day Admiral and it will be quite rewarding one for all of us with the right vision..."
"Yes sir...."
"Now Leave me and get me an update on both the Sentinel and Adagio's locations...."
"Of course Mister Chairman..."
T'Grav listened to him leave as he picked up a PADD with an update from the Romulan Border and smiled to himself. "Oh yes...this little toy of the defecting ship will do just nicely...if we can only get it back safely..."
He sat down at his deck and began to once more prepare for the next phase...

Chairman T'Grav's Subcommittee Chambers during a recess
Chairman T'Grav seethed, he refused now however to show it. He stood in the semi shadows of his chambers and looked out over San Francisco bay, his half drunk glass of Aldeberan Whiskey left sitting on his desk. He had to admit despite disliking Earth, even he found the sight of the majestic bay quite beautiful....and at any other time peaceful. He closed his eyes as he heard the door behind him open and someone enter the room.
"I take it then you have heard?" The Admiral asked, T'Grav could not miss the tension in his voice.
"That that blue witch outmaneuvered us?" T'Grav sighed. "That she went around us and got that Intellectually Elitest bastard Jaevis to take her side? Yes Admiral I have heard."
"The Council has not yet...." Haller offered.
"They will....too much carelessness in our people's haste to secure what we could from this Salvation mess...." The burly Tellerite snarled. "Even my own efforts were discovered some how by those /morons/ on the Sentinel..."
"Sir?"
"Gorn...." T'Grav marveled. "What were they doing with Gorn....why did Lieutenant Decia and that bastard Adryan even have access to them?? ..why Gorn?"
Haller frowned as he fought to understand. "Sir I don't understand...Gorn? What..."
T'Grav snarled darkly "Captain Talia and her crew...Dalun's Sentinel....and her band of moronic Deltas...and now that insane asset of Arak's...Aquarius and whatever the hell a Deacon is!"
This was too much for the Admiral, urgency crept into his voice now as he stammered out "Gorn? Morons?....Aquarius? Sir..we...."
T'Grav silenced him by raising a hand "There is going to be an investigation and our subcommittee is going to be shut down...it is now only a matter of time now, Carl."
Haller nodded in resignation, "Yes sir."
"Now we need to cover our trails as best as we can and wait for the fallout to clear from this shot taken at us by Captain Talia and her crew..."
"Yes sir...SHould I...." Haller began to offer.
"No there is no shot to be taken here Carl, we got outmaneuvered...and painted into a corner....now is not the time for retribution."
"Yes sir..."
"That comes much later" T'Grav snorted with some satisfaction "What now must be priority is survival...survival to protect our goals and complete our mission."
"Yes sir...I will commence all clean up operations on this..and personally over see them."
"We both are aware this will not be enough...there is going to be considerable collateral damage for both of us now Carl, no way to avoid it."
Haller sighed and nodded. "Yes sir...and it is going to sting like hell to be beaten this way..."
T'Grav nodded. "Oh yes...but we take our hits and weather the storm...our goal now is to survive what is to come as best we can so we can carry on when the dust settles."
"Yes sir..." Haller nodded to his friend.
"Yes....yes indeed Carl, for you see..without survival there can be no evolution..."
"Yes sir..."
"There is a good fellow, Now get to work covering us as best as you can and we will meet again tomorrow."
"Good Night Mister Chairman." Haller picked up his PADD and briefcase and left the chairman to his thoughts.
T'Grav nodded as he turned back to the window and gazed out over the bay. "Good night Carl..."

Abandoned Starfleet Research Facility, Delcion Star System
Commander Heather Lang stood in the center of the abandoned lab and listened to her com frequencies as her strike team swept the darkened facility deck by deck. One by one her squads reported the same thing....
...quiet emptiness.
She was sure that the coordinates given to her by Starfleet Command and that ridiculous sub committee were accurate, this was the location of all of those subspace communications by the wanted criminal known only as the director of Project Salvation. Officially she knew his name was Dr Alan Walker, but each file and record named him only as The Director...this was the last known secret Salvation facility. The man though simply was not here...
She sighed and walked over to the empty bay in the middle of the lab...idly wondering just what the heck the man couldve been researching here, she barely recognized half of the machinery left behind.
Where the heck could the old man have gotten too? She mused. He had no access to Starfleet resources, and all avenues of support had been cut off...
So where the hell was he?
"Commander?" She turned as she heard the voice of her second in command behind her.
"Yes Lieutenant Y'Vir?" She asked the young caitian.
"Nothing..its all clear...damn near most of this place looks like if this place hasnt been used in years..."
She signed. "He's rabbitted...."
"Ma'am?"
"This director...has fled." She sighed and shook her head hitting her combadge. "Lang to Tennyson"
The Tennyson's Captain's voice came through immediately "Go ahead Delta Actual"
"Sir there is no one here...we have signs of occupancy up until about a week or so ago...but nothing now" She sighed and looked to empty lab once more...
"He is in the wind sir..."
"Understood Away team...gather up your team and return to the Tennyson. I'll alert Starfleet and Admiral Ross, the man is a fugitive now and on the run."
"Aye sir...will contact you when ready for beam out." She signed out and looked to Y'vir "Rally the kiddies Lieutenant...our job is done here..."
"Aye Ma'am"
Heather watched her subordinate depart to follow out her orders and looked back into the shadows.
"You can run old man" she shook her head. "But you can not out run justice..."
She smiled to herself and thought...
...Its only a matter of time now.

Abandoned Starfleet Research Facility, Delcion Star System
Former Commander Heather Lang stood in the center of the once abandoned lab and looked beyond the shimmering force field to look upon the subject of the months of interrogation and process being undertaken. and smiled a thin cruel smile. The one time Delta operative looked to the short stocky Tellerite standing beside her and the others, the very sponsors of her now more important work. The Tellerite, who like her had lost everything following the collapse of Project Salvation and the hunt for those like the Director who had escaped justice...
Justice she smirked. The other men and women here, were all Section 31, the super secret spy agency that had for more than a century and a half been used as scapegoats for the Director's Project....existed with that old man's boot to their throat...were finally freed when he lost control of it....destroyed from within by one of his own S.R.A.'s. Heather grinned a little wickedly at the irony..the M5 and its views of evolutionary survival had grown a cancer right under his nose in the mammoth research and intelligence agency. His own Operatives were forced to rebel and bring him and his project down....with the help of those idiotic doo gooders from the 22nd fleet...
She sneered as the names came back to her...Talia, Arnimane, Spencer, Dalun, Decia, Adryan...along with many others....the worst of all...the very worst of all...../Cameron/. The former operative and his do gooder little brother....the one who defied all the odds to save the...the ECHO...
Bastards both of them...because of them....the Sentinel..the Adagio....LEO and AQUARIUS.....the man who began it all just vanished...they let him go...and with him...all of the information on the actual whereabouts of all of the Salvation Research Assets the SRA's. That was tonight's purpose...the efforts of years worth of research...months of intensive interrogation ,prep and now 'surgery'.
She looked over at Grav...her watched intently as she had been...surrounded by the shadowy figures of Section 31's current cell leadership. All of them watching that.....thing...that women who had appeared before her and he so long ago...she shivered as she watched it work over the subject strapped to the table behind the security quarantine field.
She knew now after she had studied the reports from Project Magellan that this woman's race was known as the Travynei, demonic looking humanoids. Yet even knowing this woman...was just an ancient alien race...something about this one still unnerved her by just being in her presence. She knew Grav felt the same...he like her would have felt some discomfort even on an instinctual level due to the physical appearance of the race...the crimson skin..the hooves the reverse knee joints..the pointed tail..forked snake like tongue and the ram like horn that sprouted from her head...that alone would have been enough. This one was much different...her alabaster skin, the very depth of black in the beings black on black eyes..
"I can grant you both what you wish..." It had cooed so pleasantly to them both that night. The very pleasantness of her voice had sent a shiver down Heather's spine.
The being had kept it word...and here it was....the very subject Grav and Section 31 had acquired for it...odd though Heather thought. At first she and Grav had believed this to be the entity the Federation had encountered in the LMC...this so called 'Dark'...yet very quickly this proved not to be the case..though in its own way...it was just as bad in her opinion. However as Grav had pointed out...this entity had no where near the power of who she appeared to be...no, he had said...this one can be killed as easily as anyone of us....
Heather watched as its talons pulled away from the subjects face...it had extracted some kind of jellyfish like worm from the subject's head...how it did she couldn't be sure...she just seemed to reach into his face and pulled it out..she shook her head...she hated ESPERS....always had and always would...
The being turned and as she spoke she crushed the worm in her talons..making a disgusting squishing sound as it squealed in agony as it died.
The thing smiled cruelly to Grav in a hauntingly lovely smile. "He is now prepared....i have restored his ability...and restored to him what had been blocked....they are all restored to him...and so much more as requested"
"Seal him up.." Grav said to his Shadowy counter parts.
A severe looking blond haired woman nodded to a technician who worked over a series of controls, the mirrored visors was slowly lowered over the subjects almost vacant corpse like face and sealed with a hiss of pressurized air. As Heather watched the being walked through the quarantine field and stood to the side as the bed rose to a more upright position. The room was filled with a pink like gas, flashes of wild energy glowed about with, shapr flashes of white lighting as well as blood red light. She shivered as she watched Grav walk over to the barrier field...the delta in her seeking to step forward to protect her boss...yet reasonable practicality kept her rooted where she stood.
Heather watched amazed as the rolling clouds in the small iso-chamber begin to fade...grow less intense and slowly vanish...the sounds of shattering metal could be heard....as th ebed flew apart..not broken..but disassembled..piece by piece...bolt by bolt and floated in the air behind the subject.
"Simply amazing..." Grav muttered in a softer awed version of his voice...
The subject now standing turned its thick mirrored helm towards him as the pieces of its bed clattered to the floor behind him. She did not as much her the massive armored being that the subject had become as she felt it within...she felt its deep growl of rage and hatred...utterly yet barely under control...
Grav smiled a thing smile and met the gaze of the newly restored being of great power before him.
"Welcome back ... ' Grav said to it... "Operative Taurus"
Its response echoed in all of their heads in not one cold hungry voice but in many crying out in unison.
"Legion..." They hissed ...."
Grav smirked. "Legion?"
They then spoke a single word that chilled to her very core....
"Chorus..."
Grav smiled at this nodding to the pale creature that had helped make this possible. He then looked back into his own reflection upon the helmet of Chorus...
"Yes Chorus...of course...prepare yourself...for we have much to do..."
Chorus only responded by staring...awaiting their new assignment...
Heather shared a look with Grav, his look was one of great confidence that the key to the knowledge behind all of the SRA's and the knowledge that could be learned from them, and the locations of the fixed asests from the fallen Project were now within his grasp.
"We've done it..."
Heather looked over at the thing known as Chorus and shuddered some, though smiled. The director would not be able to hide for much longer....nor would those who protected him...
...it was time for Justice.
