From time to time we get some super-powered NPCs (and sometimes PCs!) and I think this merits a discussion about... MATCH UPS.
One thing on my mind from Tuesday was a hypothetical match up between Chorus and Amankara (aka 'the pilgrim')
Chorus: Super-powered ESPer, capable of extreme acts of telekinesis, absorbs the abilities/powers of those he kills, wears a badass suit of armor and is probably near-immortal
Amankara (aka 'the Pilgrim'): When he was at full power, he tried to ascend to an energy form and accidentally destroyed his homeworld, creating the nebula known as the 'Sea of Choral Storms'... ability to move through other quantum dimensions and convert matter into energy (within limits)
So the question is:
- Chorus vs. Amankara (if Amankara was at full strength)
- Chorus vs. All the ESP Salvation agents combined
- Decia vs. Seb

Seb and Decia have already had a match and it was overwhelmingly Decia. But it does merit to say there is more to both than has been revealed that should be taken into account. Hold off on that one.

Though I'd say for the others:
Amankara by a narrow margin Chorus by an overwhelming victory.

Here's another postulation:
ADA or the M5 in control of the Rogue Elements.

- Amankara Based on our initial findings, even if Pilgrim did not win he could force himself and Chorus to hop around through space-time in their never-ending battle, effective he could ensure himself either the time needed to win or prevent his defeat.
- Chorus Telekinetically flick one of their brains. No. Really. A brain is insanely delicate and would require almost no effort if he is as powerful as described with telekinesis. Then he gains their power and can do ___ to the next. Perhaps the majority could win through the sheer throwing of bodies at him however the more they lose to him the almost impossible their battle becomes.
- Decia This was apparently already resolved?
- ADA/M5 Not sure who they are; haven't been keeping up with the Adagio or Sentinel as of late due to work.

From what I understand the Chorus has to actively drain a person to absorb them. A simple killing isn't enough. Unless I've misunderstood.

- ADA/M5 Not sure who they are; haven't been keeping up with the Adagio or Sentinel as of late due to work. There's actually two Adas. One is an AI on the Adagio, the other was a renegade AI overseer program that went rogue in a Pilgrim episode. (In fact, it was the first episode where Sovek appeared. ) The M5 is the M5 multitronic unit from TOS: The Ultimate Computer. It was responsible for the rogue branch of Salvation. If the matchup is between Ada (Pilgrim) and M5, I think it depends. Ada is still in a child-like state and is very impulsive, while M5 likes the long game. So, M5 is craftier but Ada can do more damage directly. If/when Ada matures, she'll be more of a SHODAN-type character.

The reality is that we (as players) have never been given enough information about any of these characters to make such a determination. It would ultimately be up to the writer (or in our case the GM) to determine which character would win. In any hypothetical fight between any two characters who wins is ultimately up to the needs of the story.

Darth Spemcer loses to prison before she can. Wah wah waaaah. Chorus would wave goodbye to her as she was herded onto the prison shuttle. "Have fun, don't bend over to pick up the soap in the shower!"

Ohhhhhh, Ada. Yeah I thought they were codename due to sleepiness and formatting.
I'd have to agree with Spence in that case.

In any hypothetical fight between any two characters who wins is ultimately up to the needs of the story. That's true, but this thread is in the same vein as all the historically nerdy arguments about famous matchups like Batman vs. Superman, etc. Ultimately the powers of fictional characters tend to vary depending on the needs of the story and who the writer is. You can make reasonable arguments either way though.
