The internal lighting of the Tremar Vastaram glows with a familiar red hue, contrasting with the omnipresent green walls, floors, and control panels. Both crews, Federation and Republic, hurry through the halls to prepare for the battle that will soon be upon them. Their current orders are to stand in defense of Citadel Station and to take any other action that may be required of them as the situation develops.

T'Pang sat at the desk in her ready room on the screen in front of her were displayed tactical briefs she had obtain from searching for the dark energy vessels. A large chunk of the useful and relevant data came from reports from three ships. The USS Adagio, the USS Protector, and the USS Sentinel. The Pilgrim was late to this party, but that didn't mean they could not make a meaningful contribution. Already it seemed she was uncovering some useful information. She put in a written request for the tactical officer to check on the Pilgrim store of transphasic torpedoes.
To: Lieutenant Idria Labaax, Tactical Officer, USS Pilgrim - NCC-92481. From: Captain T'Pang, Commanding Officer, USS Pilgrim - NCC-92481. Subject: Transphasic torpedoes
Lieutenant,
Please, check on the Pilgrims available store of transphasic torpedoes. According to reports filed by the USS protector such weapons have been shown to be more effective versus these dark every enemies we will be facing.

Serris stared intently at his console, his hands plotting a model of the various ships he was able to distinguish and correlating the data from all recorded shield impacts, attempting to find a region of their shielding where the Starfleet forces' phaser fire was more effective at penetrating the alien vessels' defenses.
Eighty-five minutes, nineteen seconds.
He allowed himself a quick glance at Aria, who was working beside him. "I was hoping we would be able to indulge in some quiet exploration instead of finding ourselves in another war."

Aria nodded in agreement.
"I know right. We have this big new region to explore and it just seems like we keep getting in shoot outs."
Aria continued beep booping going over the results of the phase spectrometer readings from the recorded allied weapons impacts on the enemy vessels.
"So I've been trying to think of a quick concise way to explain our work. So we don't have to waste a bunch of time when we bring it up if they want to know how it should help. So um. Its like light. In the normal humanoid visible light spectrum if you see say a white shirt that shirt is reflecting the whole spectrum at you. If you see a black shirt it is absorbing the whole spectrum, if you see a red shirt it is reflecting that band of the spectrum and absorbing the rest. Anyways what we are doing is looking at what is being reflected from weapons impacts on shields. Our shields are a known quantity so we know what they reflect and what energy types operate most efficiently as a mechanism of injury to them. So by analyzing their weapons impacts on our shields we can use the results to figure out the composition of their energy weapons and using that data tweak the shields to more effectively resist those weapons. Inversely we know the composition of our weapons and their shields are an unknown quantity. So we look at the effects of our weapons on their shields to deduce their properties. In essence we are trying to make our shields like a white t shirt and their weapons like the visible spectrum so our shields reflect as much of it as possible, at the same time we are trying to make our weapons behave as though they are the visible light band and the enemies shields are black t shirts so they have to absorb the most possible energy per shot landed... Does that sound good?"

On the bridge Cassandra keep practicing combat maneuvers, Learning the ships mobility by the numbers and adding it to her superior memory... at least that was what she kept telling herself. As time passed she had memorized most standard maneuvers limits and times of execution. Of course it was not enough for her wish of being the best at whatever she tried to do. But it was far better then the combat holosims she had gotten some time with to prepare for the temporary assignment.
Compared to the Pilgrim, This ship had more direction sensitive firepower, Of course such was to her liking and she kept training on getting out of elaborate evasive maneuvers with the front of the ship towards the imaginary enemy. On the less bright side, Eldax was right. This thing was harder to maneuver on average, Thou the pitch axis was not to bad at all. Worse was the yaw axis. So by compensating for bad yaw with rolls and pitches, it could be used to their advantage.
She checked the chrono; Twenty eight minutes, thirty one seconds... Plenty of time to get better.

Idria was walking down the halls of the Romulan ship, on her way to meet with Aria and Serris when her PADD dinged, she checked the message from T'Pang and furrowed her brow, swiping across her PADD quickly to check their inventory. She tilted her head slightly and sighed as she wrote her response
---
To: Captain T'Pang, Commanding Officer, USS Pilgrim - NCC-92481 From: Lieutenant (Junior Grade) Idria Labaax, Tactical Officer, USS Pilgrim - NCC-92481 RE: Transphasic Torpedoes
My inventory report says that the Romlan ship is not currently carrying transphasic torpedo's.
LtJg. Idria Labaax

She then let her PADD rest by her side as she walked into a room, swiftly making her way over to Aria and Serris. She'd gently poke Aria's back in an attempt to get her attention.
"Uhm... sorry I'm late."

"Sure," he deadpanned, then turned back to his console and continued to map the enemy ships' shield geometry. "Frankly, if they can't understand the basic idea of mapping thermo-electromagnetic displacement via sensor data extrapolation, then we're probably doomed anyway." He glanced over at Frame momentarily, silently cursing the fact that he may never get to have that dinner after all. His ears visibly droop, but he shakes it off and goes back to work. "This isn't exactly a lot of material to work with, either. We were only in that time frame for about six seconds." She then let her PADD rest by her side as she walked into a room, swiftly making her way over to Aria and Serris. She'd gently poke Aria's back in an attempt to get her attention.
"Uhm... sorry I'm late."
Serris turned to the new arrival as she entered the room. "Hi," he greets her noncommittally, staring at her briefly before resuming his furious button pressing.

"Umm good point." Aria chuckled in response to Serris.
"Hey Idria. So um me and Serris are working on analyzing weapons and shields based on the phase spectrometer results from weapon impacts. You wanna help with that or do you have another idea?"

Eldax slid up behind Ilya holding a PADD tied into helm , glancing over what she's doing and nodding his approval.
" I see your getting in tune with your Inner romulan, Not bad so far. " Looking over her numbers on the PADD. " So far i really see only one thing i can suggest on. due to the mass difference between us and Pilgrim. Try and think a few seconds ahead on thruster burns for maneuvering. It will let you get more momentum for a turn or roll when you really will need it. "
"And don't worry i'll be at the secondary controls if you need me, Though i may not be needed, "

Ilya nods to Eldax "Fly it like it was the ark royal and not the pilgrim... Got it" With that she flashes grin and begins changing the numbers she had memorized.
"I would rather be a romulan then a bloody spoony" She begins executing new tries of maneuvers with the advice given by Eldax, acting as if she was flying something more akin to Ark royal with its great mass
"I do find the integrated dual helm control of this vessel to be quiet brilliant. And I am quiet sure it will be useful, Perhaps even needed. "

"Have you guys uh tried analyzing their attack patterns and uh stuff yet?"

"Um I don't know about Serris but I haven't. I guess that's why they sent a tactical officer to help." Aria chuckled.

"I've been focusing on the weapon impact energy displacement on their shields from different relative positions, but I haven't analyzed their movement for any consistent formation." Serris's gaze didn't drift from his console. He focused intently, pinching his fingers on the holo-display and then pulling them apart to zoom in on a section of an enemy ship's shields under fire. He carefully examines the sensor data, extrapolating the exact geometry of their shield bubble.

Idria looked down to her PADD, then back to Aria.
"Well uhm, I guess I'll go analyze their patterns while you guys do your thing." she says offering a light smile then retreating into a corner and regarding her PADD closely.

"Okie dokie. I'll get back to analyzing their impacts on friendly shields see how much I can learn about their weapons so we can hopefully tweak the shields some to better withstand them. If either of you need a hand let me know." Aria went back to beep booping intently.
