Captain’s personal log, please flag as a public file as this may be of scientific and psychological interest to other members of Starfleet. The past nine months since I was joined have been difficult…heh to coin a phrase from the humans “it sucked.” Note to self: research the origin of that phrase, perhaps it has something to do with cleaning plasma conduits, something I have experience with after I reprogrammed Admiral T’Nae’s meditation holodeck program to include Orion go-go dancers in a Pon Far pit.
Normally Trills are only joined after years of preparation. It’s a great honor, but one I was never interested in. Through necessity I was joined with the Bex symbiont, and since then I’ve been deluged with thoughts, feelings, memories and cravings that aren’t mine, and yet they are. Normally by now I would have had the chance to return to the home world for my zhian’tara where I would have a chance to “meet” my previous hosts by having their memories temporarily transferred to trusted friends telepathically and hopefully sort through the memories, but the war has made time off impossible.
So as they say “necessity is the mother of invention.” I have undertaken the Rite of Emergence. Now I know this is advised for only the wisest and most experienced of us, but after sending a subspace communication to Lena Bex’s former husband to remind him of the children’s music recital, well I was willing to try anything. Note to others: the Rite of Emergence separates memories of the previous hosts and manifests them in an auditory and visual manner that unfortunately only the current host can observe. So! While my head is my own again, I’m now sharing it with four others, each of whom is apparently very opinionated. In the event that I am observed having a conversation with well… myself, included is a list of my previous hosts, any of whom I may be discussing with.
Keldar Bex: My first host, who is proving to be a great advisor. He’s as interesting as a toothbrush, but served as a distinguished captain in Starfleet before becoming part of the ambassadorial team to Romulus where he died (see second host)
Pralor Bex: A Romulan senator and patriot who poisoned Keldar at a dinner party with a rather tasty dish including some particularly deadly neurotoxins. His intentions were to use Keldar’s knowledge of the Federation to bolster the Romulan defensive position and for eighteen months he was successful until Section 31 stopped him with “extreme prejudice.” All in all he’s really not a bad sort. Other than being devious he knows some great jokes.
Ezra Bex: My third host and first female host. What a lady! She is/was a force of nature, bold, brazen and a master of martial arts. She taught ground tactical combat at Starfleet Academy until passing away of old age. Wow only one of four died a natural death! I hope my luck’s better.
Lena bex: The host I inherited the symbiont from, had a brilliant mind, and a good heart. She was a scientist, wife and mother of three. She was instrumental in the beginning of the Transwarp network and worked on it until an unfortunate explosion took her life –voice changes to become higher pitched- I told Ensign T’mok he hadn’t calibrated the EPS flow correctly. That impertinent, pointy eared little twerp never did listen to me. I’ll bet he’s sorry now. –voice returns to normal- What was I just saying? Hmm oh well. That’s enough for now. I’ll continue this account later.
