Roleplayer's Handbook
Part A: Character Request
1.) Character name?
Nelson Costa (Costa@ThanatosRa)
2.) Character gender?
Male
3.) Character race?
Human
4.) Is your character a telepath?
Nope.
5.) Select a fleet entry level rank.
Ensign
5.) What is your character's Division?
Tactical officer
7.) What is your basic character concept & history?
Nelson is a plain old human from Earth. Fresh out of the a Above average marks, though nothing overtly extraordinary about them and the man himself aside from some natural skill at a weapons console. And even then that's just a knack. The idea is primarily as an "Ensign Newbie" concept. Kind of a "Competent but still needs things explained to them on occasion" sort. I want to get back onto the RP saddle again and think this is the best place to start. I've been enamored with the character concept when it was suggested to me. I fully admit part of the inspiration is "The fact that he's ordinary is what makes him interesting."
8.) Please give a little background about this character.
Nelson is a 24 year old Starfleet Academy graduate. Ever so slightly above marks in early marks, but clearly middle of the pack by his Academy years. A child of a construction worker and a craftsman, his family hails from the Eastern Seaboard of North America, long part of the re-population efforts following World War III. Nelson looked to the stars like many other humans, away from the scars his world bore even centuries later. Showing promise with tactical systems, Nelson was assigned to a ship or two guarding the borders of the Federation, helped much by the fact that he was a part of the new generation of the officer corps. The first generation to graduate after the Iconian War.
Still, despite a militant slant to his training and service style, Nelson just wants to get out there and see the universe. Despite knowing that he may not have the clout to get such a thing, the young ensign requested an assignment, any assignment, that could take him as far from home as possible.
