Liz stood there in the lower section of the old forgotten part of the citadel, running the last part of her scheduled 'training' of Val just before their required crew promotions ceremony. Her dress whites immaculate, thoug hher top jacket undone remained in a clear contrast to Val's delta armor. Around the redheaded delta many objects directed at her by Eirene kept up the simultd assault. Liz smirked some impressed to a degree how Val responed to this morning's 'light' workout.
Liz's smile froze and her body tensed, sensing the presence even as Eirene paused the simulation for Val.
"Captain?" Eirene spoke first to Liz "Shall I..." she began...
"No, that won't be necessary Eirene, command override, 1337 Ovaltine....give us a moment alone and be ready at my request."
"Command accepted and understood. " Eirene responded sounding a little bit sad.
Liz turned as even by now Val could see the athletic looking woman in a starfleet duty uniform standing with a phaser in her right hand. She wore command red, and was flanked by two strong muscled men in ops gold.
When Liz spoke her tone was polite and even.
"Greta"
The woman nodded just once her eyes never leaving Liz's and responded in a similar tone. "Elizabeth."
"Section 31? Really?" Liz returned. "Slumming it now a days?"
"It's a living."
Liz deadpanned in a even polite tone. "Dying is not much of a living."
"You know why we are here....we want them."
"All of them? Really? Just the three of you?" Liz shook her head. "I hope you guys brought shopping bags for the haul. That is a lot of Research Assets."
"Elizabeth, this is no joke... " Greta said taking a step forward. "You know they are serious, you stepped way out of line here."
Liz set her jaw some and drilled a firm gaze into the eyes of the other woman, taking a step forward as well, keeping the other woman just out of arm's reach. even as her two companions tightened their grips on their own phasers.
"Greta...the Citadel is consecrated grounds."
Greta just smiled viciously at that. "Poor Aquarius..." The tall woman shook her head. "Always trying to make ethical rules in a universe where there are none.." She started to raise her weapon up to fire...her companions doing so as well a half a heartbeat behind her.
Liz remained where she was....right in front of Greta doing nothing to prevent her own oncoming death...Greta's phaser now pointed right at Liz's forehead...the companions eager to gun down Val as well...Liz remained where she was. not blinking...
Greta pressed her finger to the trigger to fire...as did each of her companions....
With a snap and a vicious spark all three phasers erupted like little firecrackers dissipating into smaller fragments, taking each of their hands with them. Liz barely noticed as a small flicker of blood from Greta's wound splattered across the white tunic under her white dress jacket. As each of the would be assassins cried out in stunned pain, grabbing the ruins of their hands at their wrists the three were surrounded by a column of blue sapphire light as each of the trio were encased with in a forcefield.
Liz smiled warmly at Greta and said in a sweet tone "Why thank you Eirene."
"My pleasure captain, shall i remove them now to the secured detention center you requested from the prior incidents?"
Greta glared in shock and pain at Liz at this.
"Why yes Eirene...please do so..."
"The usual procedure?" Eirene asked somewhat amused.
"Yes...see to their wounds once secured and have my associate prepare his level 4 amnestics, new personalities and backgrounds for them...oh and orders of arrest ...so they can be sent back home for rehabilitation."
"Of course captain, as long as this crime is seen to." Eirene respond calmly if not mildly amused at her own part in Liz's little 'command override' ruse.
"You bitch!" Greta snarled in pain. "Then the others? You never killed..."
Liz chuckled a cold laugh at her. "We dont kill on consecrated grounds Greta, Especially here on Citadel. You knew this /rule/ once...and rules are rules...after more than a century and a half you think those twits in Section 31 would learn this as well..."
Liz leaned in "Eirene is not an AI to me...she is the Citadel...and my friend....she could've been yours but you just had to try us..."
"Captain? Your associate is waiting...." Eirene reminded her gently.
Greta blinked as she held her wrist painfully. She went to attempt a retort to Liz only to be interrupted ...
"Thank you Eirene...its very much appreciated.." Liz looked back to Greta. "i'd say see you...but ya know...have fun at Tantalus girl..."
Liz turned back to look at Val as Eirene speeded the trio away. Her tone and smile warm now as if nothing had happened.
"I'd say training is done for this morning, or we are gonna be late. You better go change"
Liz's smile froze and her body tensed, sensing the presence even as Eirene paused the simulation for Val.
