Liz wandered down the isolated and empty corridor deep within the Citadel. Her armor's boot heels clicking across the polished deck of the ancient space station as she moved through the empty dimly lit hallway. She exited out to the central core access of this all but forgotten level and moved silently over to the central core's railing, leaning casually across the smooth alien metal.
The sandy haired brunette took a moment to enjoy the ethereal loveliness of the stations design even in this currently disused part.
"Well love....was it all you had hoped for them?" a gruff raspy voice said off to her left.
She didn't need to turn to see Alistair join her at the rail as the little scruffy man stepped out of the shadows. She smirked some at his question and half nodded.
"You almost never fail to disappoint old friend.." She said after a moment's reflection.
"Almost?" He replied with some playful indignation.
"Tigris IV" She immediately said back.
"Not this again..." The ancient being next to her sighed. "Now see here...that was not my fault!" He chuckled dryly. "There was a full scale riot going on there at the time you approached me..."
"Which you caused..." Liz smirked...
"Again...did you forget they were in the middle of drought?"
"Again...Which you caused..." Liz smirked more...
"Well remember that at that time the population in a full scale revolt..."
"Which you started..." Liz chuckled...
Alistair scoffed countering with. "I called it an attempt at civic accountability..."
"I called it an escaped SRA being a damned nuisance." She smiled.
"Well I went with you willingly..." He smiled in return. "I was a good boy...the spirit of cooperation I was."
"You were hiding from her..." Liz shook her head slowly amused.
"Yes but you did know that at the time..." He taunted.
"I had guessed you were hiding from someone you had irked off to the max..."
"Well you were most accommodating as always.." He looked over at her. "So let it be known it was appreciated..."
Liz chuckled at that "We used one another Alistair..."
"Well that is the basis for a healthy friendship love..."
Liz shook her head and sighed after a moment of reflection on that statement.
"Well either way...thank you again for what you did here for them today..."
He eyed her a moment and grinned a Cheshire cat like smile.
"Nothing again for you I assume?" He tempted. "Are you sure?"
"I am sure....none of this was for me..."
"It never is ... " He smiled more. "Not even one 'last request' before the spiders eat you?"
"Nah..Im good...Ive been dead before..." She shook her head and pushed off the rail.
"Not even some time with the Hubby???"
"No."
She turned her back on him and headed back down the dark tunnel.
"Aquar..." He signed and softened his tone. "Elizabeth..."
She turned and looked back at him waiting...
"I could 'swat the spiders' for you" He offered slickly. "Wouldn't be the first time I did such a thing for you."
Her look grew instantly cold and he could sense he might have crossed a line in their banter...he watched as she crossed the distance between them in just a few strides. She leaned into whisper into his left ear. His eyes grew wide and a chill ran through him. He pushed her back and narrowed his eyes at her.
"All right all right..point made...enhance your calm love..." He raised up his hands in a disarming manner "Was just a joke Liz...just a little joke.."
Liz smiled just a little "Its been a long night...Just send them back when they are done...once they ar ready..send me back too if you please ..."
With that she turned on her heel to leave.
He sighed and then after she was out of arm's reach he called after her retreating figure.
"I am a bleeding 'Demi-God' you know!"
She just raised up a hand to let him know she heard him but never turned and kept walking away...
He felt his indignation flare up a moment and then chuckled and shook his head. The stones on her, he thought...and then chuckled at a thought...
"It's nice to have friend's again..."
He nodded and then with that...he simply vanished...
...he had a favor to complete...he did owe her that much...
..after all what were friends for...
