With unexpected speed, he latches onto Decia with a tight embrace, his eyes closed as he rests his head on her right shoulder. This approach seems to bring him great comfort, almost reliving a memory, though his eyes are still wet with tears.
She won't let them take me again. She won't let them take me.

His face is buried in his knees, so neither of them know where he's looking, but the warm, feminine presence elicits a response. A muffled, cracking voice speaks, "Ey yivid'em repăd et m'edek, măzhka." Only one sentence before he breaks down into open sobbing, his form shaking with each breath.
Anyone vaguely familiar with Cardăsda would pick up on the meaning. <It happened to me again, mother.>

Tolar reflexively shrinks away from the physical contact, his breath hitching, not wanting to be touched by anyone right now.

The weight of what she'd just said hit him like a freight train. The more he thought about it, the more things started to make sense. The nightmares started after their connection. Tiberius had inexplicably been outright hostile to him after the night in the lounge when everyone got together for painting. He thought it was just the idea of a one-night stand reappearing into his life, but...
The laughter on the War Rocket when I brought up the bombing of the homeworld. The sudden attitude change when he realized how eager I was to initiate something. A deep mental connection I can't remember. All those sleepless nights with no free will in my own dreams. Was my subconscious trying to warn me? Am I really in control of what I'm doing? He...
He's been inside me.
A chill he's only felt once before crawls up his spine as the realization dawns on him. He leans back on the wall, staring at the door, or beyond it. Slowly, he slides down until he's sitting on the floor, withdrawing into himself. His face doesn't move much, but anyone looking at him can see the horror in his eyes, the anger, and the devastation.
They did it to me again, măzhka. The evil men. They won't stop. They never stop. I thought I was safe.
A single tear rolls down his left cheek.
I thought I was safe.

In my opinion, that doesn't accurately capture Shantal's "Transylvanian lolcat" dialect.

"What's the full situation here, Lieutenant?" He arches a brow, his gaze unflinching as his eyes lock with hers.

"Let's be honest, Ms. Valerina. If a friend I've known for years is reluctant to bring it up," he gestures to Jonathan, "why would I ever believe you specifically would be more forthcoming?"

"It's hard not to take it personally when everyone and everything on and off and around this ship seems hellbent on forbidding me from learning more about it, Lieutenant." The turbolift doors part, allowing the group inside. He steps through, turning to face the others. "To sickbay we go."

"I'll cede the first point, Ms. Valerina, however, a security matter should be handled and run by security unless explicitly ordered or delegated otherwise. Experience is irrelevant." The tone of his delivery doesn't edge across the line of professional, however, it's obviously something he feels very strongly about. "I assume someone in the command staff authorized our detention?" He continues down the corridor with the pair, already suspecting who gave the order. "One can't help but wonder how long you've been monitoring this situation."

"So, you believe a telepathic presence is affecting the crew at large." He arches a brow, looking between the two. "Very well then. In the interest of ship's security, I'll submit to the examination." He picks up the bouquet from the floor and places it on his table, then walks to the doorway. He seems to be all business now, adopting a serious facial expression as he crosses the threshold, pausing to note the Delta operatives on each side of the door.
"Why isn't the security department handling this?" He frowns deeply, seemingly very bothered by the fact that it went by his notice and his people weren't trusted.

"That sounds like a potential security issue." He scowls, folding his arms, regarding Jonathan with concern. "Why didn't you tell me this sooner?"

Tolar is seated on the floor in the center of his quarters, carefully arranging a basket of exotic-looking flowers, humming along as "Love Love Love" by Of Monsters and Men plays in the background.
He looks up to the sight of Jonathan and Decia in the doorway, then looks between the two. "Ah, how delightful! Please excuse the disarray, I haven't set up for guests." Standing, he brushes his hands off on a towel, beaming with happiness. "What can I do for you?"

"I believe you'll find I'm very persistent when it comes to the things I want." He smirks suggestively, leaning over the desk, his face inches from Tiberius'. The spark of someone who won't back down from a challenge flares in his eyes. "Speaking of which, I haven't had the chance to shower yet." He pulls away, that smirk still adorning his face. "I'll be right back." He takes off his uniform jacket and undershirt, casually tossing them to the floor as he makes his way to the bathroom. He casts one last glance over his shoulder before disappearing around the doorframe.

"You almost sound like you're eager for that to happen." Tolar is visibly confused by Tiberius's response. "Did I do something to offend you?"
