Val looks around as well, for a good seat. She spots a quiet corner and steers him there. She is starting to enjoy herself. "Great, lets eat them. I'm starting to realize i'm starved. Oh the curse of all brainy people to go without when thinking of great and sci-ency things." Once they get to their table she settles down in a chair, smiling.

"Perfect!" Val says pushing Alton out and for the galley. "Its been a while since I had any of that."

Quirks her brow at the feelings she's getting off him. She smiles and touches his shoulder. "Oh trust me, I have a recipe that survives the replication process you'll just love."

"OH? What did you have in mind?" She waits for the doors to open before bouncing inside.

Val thought about telling him, but she didn't want to burden him with such a problem. The Captain and XO and her boss knew, and that was enough for now. "A little of both, really, but nothing to worry about. So what do you want to eat? I feel like spaghetti."

"Lots of data to catalog and study over. No doubt they will send a science team here to study the People once we're done with our first contact mission. So I've been keeping myself busy the last few days. Just dealing with some, unusual variables that came up recently, but nothing C'son or me can't solve." Catches his looking at the floor and leans over as she walks, "Oh, is there something interesting down there?"

Val waved as Endal left, taking his randomness in stride. "He's a nice guy, he must make things interesting for you at work." She looked at Alton. "So, how is work? Been working hard at defending us poor peace loving pogues?"

"OKay, lets go get some food. I only had a sandwich in the last couple of hours." Val looked at the door chronometer to see what time it was. "Thank you, Endel, I think I can help him with his button shyness from here on."

Elusive rolled her eyes, "He's all yours, Val. Computer, end program." The beach and Elusive both vanish as the program ends. Val purses her lips looking at her now empty hands. "I'm going to have to take that command function away from her." She looks at Alton and smiles, "aw, c'mon, you made your way here. Want to do something? I mean I wasn't really that busy, just thinking about a project. I could use the break, really..."

Val spent the majority of their conversation snickering behind her hand. Poor Alton, called out in the most embarrassing way possible. She did offer Alton the chance to make the first move and he tried. She wonder how someone who goes into the jaws of death could not bring himself to coming by and saying hello. Well, this was not going to be a wasted opportunity, at least she could free him from Endel's 'help'. She saw Elusive moving back from where she pushed her. Judging by the pony's look, she was contemplating giving Val a poke with her horn. She smirked as she considered her options and said, "Computer, reduce Elusive construct body weight to one pound."
Elusive gave her a flat look, "What? Eeek!" She flailed as Val scooped her up and walked to the door, arms wrapped around her barrel.
"Come tell Endel friend what a nice talking pony you are."
"You forgot pretty" Elusive said with a pout. She squeaked as Val gave her a squeeze. "Oh fine," Looking to Alton, "hello, Alton, I hope your not nervous talking to a animated computer construct based off my friends neural cortex. She has spent approximately too much damn time on this holodeck and requires proper feeding. I suggest manhandling her to some place where food can be found; with excessive force." She heard Val sigh behind her. "You have no to blame but yourself!"

Val and Elusive eyes open wide (Elusive wider just because they are bigger) as someone molests the chime like it owed them money. "I don't suppose you were expecting company besides moi?"
"No, not at all." Val gets up, dusting off her back side. "Computer, open main doors." She walks to entrance to the holodeck as it appears. They open to show Alton and Endel outside pressing the chimer. It struck Val as amusing because it seem the bigger man was making Alt press the button.
"Oh! Two stallions come to fight over you?" Elusive piped up behind her. "Or you with them to- hey, ow, quit that." Elusive complained as Val used her foot to push the cartoon pony backwards away the door way. "Ignore her. What can I do for you gentlemen?"

Val Stingray sat on a beach on the planet Betazed. It was her most favorite location, where you family would come to vacation. It was a natural beauty that inspired tranquility and reflection. It was Val's go to place when she wanted to think. Rather if it was personal problems or something more complicated in the field of science. These shores were where she decided to join Star fleet, to rejoin Star fleet, and to create her current companion as she trotted up next to her.
"Well," Elusive began. Elusive was a three foot, from withers to hoofs, pony. A silver white coat with a matching mane and tail. Both were twisted into elegant coils that bounced when ever the equine moved. The mare had a cartoon look about her with the large eyes and truly resembled nothing like a real pony would. Added to the mare a pair of fluffy wings and a unicorn horn. "Are you going to sit there and brood ALL day. You barely ate the sandwich I brought you."
Val blinked out of her near meditative trance and looked down at the plate with the sandwich on it. "I took a bite out of it."
"A bite." Elusive gave Val a flat look. "I slaved over this work of culinary perfection. Spending long minutes in properly seating the ingredients together to form a taste sensation that would blow your neural implants." She stood on her hind legs, fore hooves placed over her head. "And you, take, a bite..." She flopped over onto the sand, stricken. One rear leg twitching. "I have failed to properly care for you. Cast me into the sea, let the watery depths claim their next victim..." Elusive let out a over exaggerated gasp before becoming still.
Val giggled at her friend. She picked up the plate and laid back on to the sand looking up at the sky above. She took another bite and found that the sandwich was indeed good. It did not exactly cause her head to explode, and that was a good thing. As Val continue to stare upwards and eat, she said, "I have to figure out how to get a race of beings to find a probably bad race of beings without first letting on that we already know the bad race of aliens is there."
Elusive turned her head to look at Val. "What happens to the bad race of aliens?"
"I"m guessing they are going to become hostile and the Sentinel blows them away."
Elusive shivered. "Well, if they become hostile, obviously, the ship will need to do its duty. I suppose that's not a problem. So are you okay with deceiving them?"
"Well, the known outcome is the good aliens lifestyle breaks down and billions die..."
"Hm, that's not a favorable outcome."
"Nope, it is not." Val took another bite from the sandwich. "I don't have problems with it. I like the People, I want our first contact with them to go well. They have sciences down there I want to jump into and learn all I can."
"Yes, their 'telepathic engineering' you call it? I suppose that would be of interest. Perhaps they can teach you how not to run into such things face first."
"Hey," Val whined, "I didn't know it was there in the first place." She rolled her eyes as Elusive laughed. As Elusive quieted down Val finished the sandwich and put the plate to the side. So much to consider on how to get the People to work with them without giving everything away. Apparently the sanity of time and space was at stake here and they could not afford to alter it. Though it appeared it already had been altered and now it needed to be fixed. The crew of Sentinel had gotten that task and Val hope they were up to it.

Three movies in, time to crash the ship for sentimental reasons. Unlike the other Star Trek 3, I'm not that emotional attached to it. Or the characters, or the setting, or etc...
