As Kara falls into a restful sleep, Valkriss' requested supplies and beds are beamed down to the surface inside the infirmary. A PADD is on one of the beds that is beamed down, and Valkriss' combadge goes off.
"M'am...your supplies and cots have been delivered as requested. You will also find a manifest on one of the cots of all lifesigns we can pinpoint and their coordinates...I was able to locate Lieutenant junior grade Darren Jimmerson's combadge location, but I could not confirm a lifesign associated with it."

Kara sleeps somewhat more soundly as Valkyrie comforts her. Her combadge comes to life as Thorton answers her.
"We have quite a large officer manifest for the planet, m'am, but I will do my best. I have some of our engineering crew working on mass replicating your requests. The supplies and cot will be beamed down as soon as they are ready."

Ensign Kara Dalby is fast asleep on her cot, turning every so often to cough. It became clear soon that she was having some sort of nightmare that would not end as Valkriss could see her tossing and turning and hear the name "Darren!" repeated over and over. This continues throughout the night.

The scene on Hathon, Bajor was eerily silent. The charred remains of the bar Aria and Li had narrowly escaped from is surrounded by duranjas, a traditional Bajoran oil lamp used to honor the dead. Mothers and fathers weep for their lost children; husbands and wives mourn alone for their lost partners. This is the scene that Kai Kira Nerys arrives to with a legion of guards. The pain on her face is evident as she stops before the makeshift memorial in front of what used to be the entrance to the bar. She slowly kneels down in front of the lamps, the tears streaming down her face are evident for anyone who could see it. After a few moments with her eyes closed, Kira rises to her feet and turns to face the assembled mourners. Her voice is shaken and emotionally charged as she makes no effort to hide her reaction.
"How could anyone ever believe this was justified? How could you possibly think that by slaughtering your fellow Bajoran sons and daughters, that you were doing what is best for our people?"
Kira takes a moment to wipe her eyes before continuing.
"Make no mistake, regardless what they want you to believe their intentions were, the people behind this were monsters. The very same day, they made an assault on our government, attempting to force you into their way of thinking. Thanks to the brave men and women of the U.S.S. Pilgrim and Deep Space Nine, the Bajoran government has been maintained, and those responsible for this atrocious have been caught and brought to justice. Jaro Kejal, the man who you saw deliver his message to the entire planet, is currently being transported to Kran-Tobal, where he will live out the rest of his existence as his father once did. The rest of his co-conspirators will be tried by the Bajoran Ministry of Justice.”
She takes a pause to compose herself before continuing.
“Let this be a grave reminder that there are those out there who would stop at nothing to destroy everything those before us have worked to build. May you all walk with the Prophets.”
With that, Kira promptly turns and exits, a horde of guards following close behind.

Setting: 20 years ago.
The bridge of the Enterprise is filled with various Federation dignitaries, all in dress uniform. A large hollowed out torpedo casing is laid out in the center of the bridge, containing the lifeless form of the man known to the Federation as Admiral William Ross. Many of the surviving crew of Deep Space Nine during be Dominion War were in attendance, with Captain Sisko being the most notable absentee. An honor guard approaches the makeshift casket and stands at attention as the chaplain gives his eulogy. Captain Ross approaches the front of the bridge, preparing to address the crowd and speak about his father. He takes a deep breath before speaking.
"I always dreaded this day. As he got older Dad wasn't hesitant to remind me that it was coming. After the wars he served in I think my father was accutely aware of his own mortality, even more than most. He never feared death...and he was always confident in his ability, and then in the ability of the men and women who served and often gave their own lives in the service of Starfleet, and the defense of the Federation. My father worked hard to ensure that we had a future in the Alpha Quadrant. He was not a perfect man..."
Ross turns away from the crowd for a moment, composing himself.
"But he was a damn good one, and he will be missed. He gave everything he had to win the war against the Dominion and restore peace to the Quadrant. Now he can rest for the rest of eternity."
With that he steps away from the podium and rejoins the crowd. The honor guard snaps into action and lifts the coffin up. They are promptly transported and the viewscreen on the bridge changes to show the torpedo room of the Sovereign class vessel. The guards carry the coffin to the bay and load the hollow torpedo in. Another detachment on the bridge calls the crowd to attention and the group of people snap to. A song fills the bridge as the guard leader sends down the instruction to launch the torpedo, the sound of the bagpipes nearly drown out his voice.
The assembled crowd looks intently upon the viewscreen as the torpedo is launched into space. Captain Ross just stares blankly at the screen, the impact of the moment had not yet hit him. His eyes well as his mind thinks back to their final conversation. Despite the mistakes his father may have made with Section 31...he was a good man, and he would be honored as such. As the torpedo flies out of sight Ross turns away and walks off the bridge.

Location: Starbase 33
Commander Ramil stands in the lounge of the starbase, gazing out at the stars as he had done many times before on various ships throughout his career. Without a single noise, the form of R'Tol appears beside him. Ramil does not turn to him as he speaks.
"I suppose you are here to inquire as to my true intentions."
"I figured you would inform us when you were ready for a full debriefing."
There is a long moment of silence before Ramil replies.
“There are those who believe we should retaliate against the Federation for what happened to Romulus, that Ambassador Spock’s failure is to blame for what occurred. The Amulius was built for that purpose.”
“The Tal Shiar won’t stop looking for you if they ever figure out what happened. There will be hell to pay if they find you.”
“Perhaps…maybe this could inspire others to do as I have done. A little revolution now and then is a healthy thing, don’t you think?”

Commander Ramil stands on the bridge of the IRW Amulius. Officers are moving to and fro on the Shadow class vessel at a rapid pace; the ship itself is currently at warp. Ramil's first officer, Subcommander Vasil, approaches him at a brisk pace, clearly with someone on his mind.
"Speak." "Major Iral is waiting for you, commander."
Ramil raises his eyebrow in the way his Vulcan counterparts often would.
"You have the bridge."
"Yes commander."
Ramil briskly walks down the corridor to the location of what is known to Starfleet as the ready room. He enters and finds Major Iral sitting at his desk, a bottle of Romulan ale next to his console. He immediately shows irritation as he walks over to confront the Major.
"What are you doing in my cabin?"
The Tal Shiar Major shows no emotional response as he replies.
"It is my duty to oversee the stability of this ship and its crew, commander."
"By invading my privacy?"
Iral scoffs at that.
"Privacy? Commander, you serve at the luxury of the Tal Shiar. Privacy does not exist. In fact, it is antithesis to our objectives. For example...what happened to your mate was...unfortunate. The Hobus incident was a horrific tragedy for our people, and she was...a beautiful woman."
Iral stands up from the desk as Ramil shows anger at that last comment, hands up in sort of an apologetic nature.
"I am fulfilling my duties and responsibilities as laid out by our commanding officers!"
"How many Tal Shiar informants are on my ship?"
Iral openly laughs at the commander.
"Your ship, commander? This vessel belongs to the people of the Romulan Star Empire. Besides...if they are other...ears on this vessel, I would not be informed for operational purposes. Now if you are done stalling...I suggest we view our orders."
"Certainly."
Ramil walks around the desk, taking a standing position in front of the sitting Iral. The major begins to read off the orders.
"You are to proceed to the Afehirr Nebula. From there, you will run a series of tests on the experimental phase cloak. After you have completed the tests, you will submit the results to command and await further orders."
"Shall I announce these orders to the crew, commander?"
Just as the last utterance came from Iral's mouth, Ramil violently grabbed the man's head and began smashing it onto the desk. The major's cries for help were not heard and soon silenced as the man conceded his life had ended. As Iral sat lifeless in the chair, Ramil taps his console and utters a word in Romulan. Iral's body vanishes in a transporter beam and Ramil takes a seat at his console, using the now dead Iral's access to make alterations to the document in front of him. When he finishes, Ramil gets up and exits the room.

Ross leans in towards the console.
"We'd have find something he'd be willing to risk open aggression over, something he covets. Surely you have your eyes on something of that nature..."
