LT. CMDR. TIBERIUS ASADACommanding Officer, Starship ProtectorLOG ENTRY 1 - STARDATE 95847.21Tiberius is sitting at the desk in his ready room on the Protector. He is wearing his usual Starfleet uniform, a piping hot cup of coffee in his hand.
"Captain's personal log, Stardate 95847.21. We are officially on the second mission of my new command, the Starship Protector. I have to admit, there's something wonderful about being on this vessel. It had a life before we overhauled it, but now it truly feels like it's ours. Maybe that's just my nostalgic affinity for the Defiant-type spaceframe talking, but I couldn't be happier."
"The crew is performing fantastically as well. I have no complaints whatsoever." He paused.
"You know, I've sat in the center seat on many occasions but this is my first true command. You know what they say... oceans rise, empires fall, but it's much harder when it's all your call." He smirked. "Let's see how this all turns out. Asada out."

LT. CMDR. TIBERIUS ASADACommanding Officer, Starship ProtectorLOG ENTRY 2 - STARDATE 94341.01Tiberius is sitting at the desk in his ready room on the Protector. He is wearing his usual Starfleet uniform, a PADD in his hand.
"Captain's personal log, Stardate 94341.01. I have good news, and bad news. The bad news is, I was reprimanded and put at the bottom of the promotion list. The good news is that I was not at the bottom of the promotion list already, as we had believed. I guess you need to see the silver lining in things." He sighed.
"Let's face it. These aren't very good times. Tolar has left, apparently under the belief that I'm just the same as my murderous parallel universe counterpart. Truth be told, that hurt. But I also need to consider that he never fully recovered from his encounter with that counterpart on the Sentinel. I don't really know if he he meant what he said. But that somehow bothered me more than the reprimand."
"But about silver linings. We did liberate the Bajoran people from a Nah'kul plot to control their minds. Many of the Bajorans were already enslaved by the time we got there. We worked together and shut that whole scheme down. The officers on my ship might be somewhat new, but they've certainly distinguished themselves in my eyes." He put the PADD down as he leaned forward, somewhat lost in thought. "I'll never forget how a Bajoran came up to me on the Deep Space Nine promenade. He had been mind controlled by the Nah'kul, and there were tears in his eyes when he thanked me for what we did. He said we saved him and his family. And I think that was the highest point in my career that I've ever experienced. Starfleet would never pin a medal on my chest or a pip on my collar for it, but we saved an entire world. How many people get a chance to say that? It really puts things into perspective."
"If I end up living long enough to retire, I might just do it on Bajor. What a wonderful people."
"In other news..." He reached under his desk and pulled out an action figure, apparently that of Captain T'Pang of the Pilgrim. "I left the Pilgrim too early. I just found out that the Federation News Network, as part of a promotion for their news series on the Starship Pilgrim, made these action figure replicas of the senior staff. If I had stuck around for a couple more months, they would have done for me, too." He raised up the action figure's hand, which had its fingers in a Vulcan salute. "Live long and prosper!" He said in his best T'Pang impression.

LT. CMDR. TIBERIUS ASADACommanding Officer, Starship ProtectorLOG ENTRY 3 - STARDATE 94462.24Tiberius is sitting at the desk in his ready room on the Protector. He is finishing up a piece of sushi as the camera turns on. There are several awkward moments of chewing before he begins.
Captain's Personal Log, Stardate... 94462.24. Here we are, in a new Galaxy. A bit of a bumpy ride to get here, but I'm proud to say that the Protector is one of the first Starfleet vessels to make it to this wonderful new place. It makes the Milky Way feel small.
I guess this is how our ancestors felt. They looked up to the sky and saw stars and knew that there was something amazing out there. I've looked at stars since I was a child, and now for the first time in my life, I look out the window and see a different field of stars. It's exciting and humbling at the same time. A place for new opportunities.
Maybe a little bit of the magic was lost once we started to chart the Beta and Gamma Quadrants, like there were no more frontiers to explore. But life will spread out and expand into new territory, like it always does, and here were are again -- on the verge of a new frontier. As far as I know, we are one of the first or perhaps the first warship to enter this new realm. I guess that makes us the cowboys of this frontier. He smirks.
Well... I guess I should get back to work.
Asada out.

LT. CMDR. TIBERIUS ASADACommanding Officer, Starship ProtectorLOG ENTRY 4 - STARDATE 94532.43Tiberius is sitting at the desk in his ready room on the Protector. In his hands is a certain FC Bayern Munich mug, apparently filled with hot chocolate. He takes a sip.
My executive officer is currently leading an expedition to LMC-4215 to determine the fate of any Republic survivors that may have landed there. I'm not sure if they fully realized it, but they're the first people on the Protector -- and some of the first people from the Milky Way -- to set foot on terra firma in this new galaxy. Giving up my spot on away missions might be one of the hardest parts of this job. I miss it.
Anyway, it hasn't escaped my awareness that the Republic, an Intrepid-class light cruiser that disappeared in 2160, certainly isn't the first time-displaced object that we've encountered in recent months. There is something very interesting and very unusual going on. I'm going to get to the bottom of it, of course, in due time.
Crew cohesion is good; better than I expected. Honestly, after the Animus Incident, I anticipated the worst -- I thought the crew was going to fracture. But no... I think it wasn't a wedge that drove us apart, but a tragedy that brought us closer together. I'm even utilizing my officers more effectively these days. God, isn't that stereotypical... an orphan who grew up believing he had to be the strong one, the one was who was right, the one who knew best -- finally playing nice. Kind of makes your skin crawl when you think about it.
Now, it's time for me to check in with the away team.
Asada out.

What can I say? We captured a Nah'kul alive, along with his Vorta ally. It was the Nah'kul who masterminded the attack on Bajor.
Some of the crew didn't make it, and the ship took a hell of a beating. Even my prized cloaking device is down for the count. But given the situation -- our one ship against five Jem'Hadar attack vessels -- we should have all been space dust. It's amazing that I'm here to tell the tale, and it's doubly amazing that we managed to catch such high value prisoners. Most importantly, we've put an end to the conspiracy against Bajor; at least, I hope that we have.
I've had a chip on my shoulder ever since we liberated Bajor from that Nah'kul mind control. I guess anyone would be bothered by it, but I've been carrying it around for a while. I wonder if it's finally over. I hope so.
In any event, I'm very proud of my crew and ship.
Asada out.
