On that note, I would ask that the GM's continue keeping our rosters up to date as much as possible. I think they are mostly up to date at this point, but right now I think the only people updating the wiki are Malitzka (when she wants to update herself) and me (when I feel like it). I'm trying to keep the ships as accurate as I can, but I'm not always online during the session, so I'll miss when something changes.

It's not really about competition, so much as fighting to let off steam. Here's the basic idea I'm thinking of: Let's say that Erys and K'tali have a disagreement. In the fight club, they would work it out physically, without all the strapping of rank, or the possibility of repercussions from fighting. When they're done, they leave the arena, and leave their disagreement behind. That's really all it's about. We can do competitions, but the basic session wouldn't be about it specifically. As for the rest, you're right about underground not lasting very long if people get their faces beat in constantly. Safety would be taken into account, of course, since the whole idea is to blow off steam, not hurt each other. I figure we'll work things out as we go anyway. Really just seeing who all is interested right now

he did specify new players as an option, and this forum is visible to everyone (including visitors), so it's not completely ineffective for that purpose. However, it is true that recruiting for ships would probably get better results from the STO boards.

So... I was watching nuBSG (like I have been the last couple weeks), and I saw that episode where they have the boxing ring, and anyone can fight anyone else regardless of rank. And I thought "wow that's cool, we should try that too"... so here I am. I'm thinking of starting up a fight club, that meets on a specific night (or on multiple nights, depending on who's interested and when people are available). The fight club rules are as follows: 1. Don't talk about fight club. 2. Leave rank at the door. 3. Save the drama for the fighting arena. 4. Fighting styles to be determined per match, and may range from Boxing (fists only) to full martial arts. 5. No weapons of any kind. I'm not planning to actively seek Command's approval on this, so ICly you should keep in mind that this is not legal in any way (unless Donaldson manages to catch wind of it and doesn't care ). If we're caught, I fully expect IC consequences if they're deemed necessary. However, if Brian posts that he's interested, we'll go with the "sanctioned" route. If you're interested, please reply with the following: Character Name: Character's Stats (relevant to fight club) - Body: - Agility: - Unarmed Combat Skill: - Traits that directly affect unarmed combat: Days/Times you can be available:

The way you're advertising for us, I'd almost think you had a character on our ship.... Maybe you should consider making one!

No, no getting along! On that note, there's a sparring session scheduled for... whenever K'tali is available. It'll be broadcast live on the Daedalus Sports channel in place of the normal Mok'bara match. Oh wait.... that's derailing the thread. Sorry. actually.... that gives me an idea.... I'll post about it later... anyway, Join a ship!

-= As the recording clicks on, Erys is lying on her back on the sand, with nothing between her and the sun. Her wet hair sticks to her shoulders, and in the background the quiet crashing of waves can be heard along with faint Hawaiian music. Eyes closed, Erys is motionless save the movement of her breathing. After what seems like an eternity, she begins speaking, her eyes still closed. =-
So... we got everything. Everything I asked for, and more. I honestly wasn't even expecting half of what we got. I'm in my quarters right now, lying on my bunk, but it feels like I'm back in Cali... Probably not supposed to be using the holoprojectors like this, but the only person who can order me to stop is Joy, and I don't think she even cares what I do.
We're already back in action, of course. Back to the front lines with our new supercharged battleship. And, -=she smiles at this=- So far the only combat we've seen is a suicide bomber. I probably shouldn't smile, I know... but it's funny. All this technology, all these upgrades, and we still got caught off guard by a suicide bomber. Mostly because he had Iconian technology, of course. Doctor didn't help us much at first, but I must admit she makes for a great hostage negotiator.
Mmmm... K'tali. She's rude, she's disrespectful... but I don't think she does it on purpose. That's just how Klingons come across, even when they don't mean to be. Even so, I can't help but like her. I don't even know why I do, but I can't help it. She's a Klingon, and she's a telepath to boot. But...I hate to admit it, but she's a good asset. She knows how to get things done, and I plan to use her more often.
-= She sighs and opens her eyes, staring up at the ceiling =-
It's weird... It's like all these things should bother me, but for some reason I just don't care. Maybe it's because I have these quarters to myself right now, I dunno. Tibs is gone for a few more weeks I think, still in Command School or something. So of course I'm the XO while he's gone. Not that it's hard... We've got a crew of forty-something, and that's smaller than what I used to have on the Ayanami.
I have to say... I love it here.
-= her eyes close again, relaxing under the perfectly-simulated sun =-
I don't know why... I just do.

Well... that kinda eliminates all of my characters But... if you guys aren't the best of the best, the Sentinel is looking for misfits and vagabonds. As long as you have the skills, we'll take you, and we'll whip the personality defects right out of you. (literally, if necessary) I got yelled at last time I tried to tell people what positions are open, so go pester DGM Soft Kitty if you're interested in a tiny.... little... um, awesome ship of misfits. Or if you're perfect and never screw up, go join the Endeavour. There's a place for everyone ;D

One of the vendors sells carrier pets for energy credits. I'm not sure where all they are, but I know there's one somewhere on ESD. As for the projects, I think Ny set it up so anyone in fleet command or higher can set the projects. As I mentioned on a previous page, those projects are set in advance, and can be edited up until they activate. Once a project is active, it can't be removed... it can only be completed. So yeah... choose wisely

There's three basic steps to getting a Starbase Tier. Step 1: Do Fleet Projects to gain Tier XP until you reach Tier 1 of either Tactical, Engineering, or Science. In the below picture, you can see that Military Tier 1 has been reached. Example: graptor.net/images/fleetholdings.jpgStep 2: Once we've reached Tier 1 of a branch, the corresponding structure will become available for upgrade. You can see the upgrade project in the above picture, and the below picture shows the details for contribution. The requirements scale with the level of the upgrade, exponentially greater for each tier. Example: graptor.net/images/fleetproject.jpgStep 3: Once the upgrade project has finished, the "Starbase Upgrade Project" will become available. This project takes roughly twice as much material as the other structure upgrades, and likely takes 2 or 3 times longer. Once this upgrade project is completed, the Starbase itself will be at the next tier. Note that each Branch must be completed separately (as in they don't automatically unlock when anything else completes), but starbase xp can come from any branch's upgrade project. The cost effectiveness will drop (and other rewards will be excluded), but it is possible to do one branch at a time until that branch is at tier 5. I posted a full list of rewards on page 4, so feel free to check that to see what is unlocked with each starbase / branch tier.

If you guys do get in, the fleet starbase is down in Eta Eridani. If nothing else, you can go see how it looks.
And even though we can't contribute until Ny sets up those permissions, I'd suggest starting on fleet marks so you have them ready. It usually takes 150 or so fleet marks for a standard project, so we'll need a ton.

Yeah, they're still having problems with it, probably due to the PWE integration or something, I dunno. I managed to get in on Nalie (and update the permissions / projects), but now I can't get back in. I'm sure it'll be fixed soon, most likely today
