Doctor Sair asked for her to come by when she had a free moment. Val never fully interacted with the counselor save for the few days she was in sickbay after getting herself shot and her head scrambled with UNITY data. She was most helpful in getting Val straight again. Maybe now was a good time for a meet and greet. If the doctor had read her psych profile, there were lots of interesting tidbits there about Val's progression from Borg victim till her return as a Starfleet officer. Perhaps it would be good to talk with the good doctor on some issues that were rolling around in her head. Things she put off thinking about due to her workload and simply not wanting to deal with it.
She trotted up to the doctor's office door and hit the chime.

So Valpony Stingray, USS Sentinal Science officer, had gone through changes. Not just the mission placed on her by the UNITY, but now through the shenanigans of Alister. What was supposed to be a quantum level gag had longer than the period of time she spent on the island billions of years ago. Why it happen this way, she could not answer that question. She hopes there were no ulterior motives behind the move. If so, she would have to deal with that outcome when it appeared. So far she had a clean bill of health from Billie Jo and Captain let her resume her duties. The Pixies were most helpful in adapting to her new form via their cybernetic connection. So, she was a cartoonish shape pony and quite frankly, it was sooo awesome.
Of course, she needed to explain her situation to someone near and dear to her. While Alton probably did not share her enthusiasm for her pony hobby, now a complete lifestyle, he tolerated it. Now, she wanted to let him know the extent of her passion. She already hurt his feelings already and she wanted to avoid doing further damage. No need to drop this surprise on him. She left her quarters and went down to the Delta barracks to talk with him. She was aware that scuttlebutt probably already reached his ears, but she had to tell him.

Val resisted bile like urge to explain her feelings on the topic of the Borg. Their actions were not cold and calculating but evil. If she had no promised the surviving members of the Omega Team that had unplugged her, she would tell him the extent the Borg pursuit of perfection would have taken them. No, she focused on the rest of what Monitor was saying. The good parts about the UNITY the thing she hopes they were about. It seems too good to be true and perhaps it was. Maybe she did idolize them to a point after trying to learn so much about them. They were as close to a level of perfection due to how the interacted with each other. Biological and machine incorporation but still with the level of individuality that societies depended on to thrive. When he went back to Aynila she had a feeling she was not going to meet the UNITY being just yet. If she was that busy trying to hold the facility together there would be no way to ask her to step away talk with Val. That smell feeling of unworthiness brushed against her feelings and she pushed it away.
"I'm sorry no one else could come and help her. I know this galaxy has suffered a great deal since the Dark Conflict. I only hope that we're able to assist in helping the races that are still here."
She sat up a higher in the seat, listening to Monitor explain the work still ongoing. So there was a greater network at one time. With all the destruction it would not surprise her if the extent of the disrepair was great. Still, someone was still working on getting it running again. Sure they made little progress after two million years, but no one expected the whole galaxy to get rekt as it did.
She smiled to Baker, hoping to ease her escort mind. She would not blame her for being cautious about the glowing blue box. Val eyes could pick up snippets of data floating around inside, too small to decipher physically. This would take a lot of processor power to go through and make sense of it. Well, as long as nothing bad happens to her physically she should not have any problems with getting it all figured out. Once she had it stored properly she could use the ship's computers, Sery, and Elusive to figure out what needed to be done.
The question that lingers in her thoughts though, was she worth that kind of trust. "Monitor, I'm so humbled that Aynilla and you think so highly of me. I'm just a simple science officer that just started to chase a few clues to the UNITY when we arrived in the galaxy. I'm sure there are a lot of more qualified persons," She wanted to say 'and people complete with their own original parts' but left that off, "would do help with bringing your 'Work' to a successful completion. I mean, I'm smart, but, I need supervision sometimes less I get distracted... you know..." Mumbling, "I don't feel worthy to help you."
So perked back up, realizing she was making a fool of herself. She looked at the cube of wonderful potential. "So, I can probably find someone to help with that.

Monitor smiled and retrieved a lovely cloth napkin for the messy cupcake enthusiast pony, as well as one for both Baker and finally for Val. Her host politely nodded. "Indeed Miss, the Director has been most kind in allowing me to study your people's progress in such areas of endeavours. You are making wonderful progress...respecting such entities as such for their service and showing such kindness and compassion. If i may be so bold, the Unity was much in the same way with me as you are with your little companion."
Val used offered napkin to wipe at Elusive muzzle. She smiled and listen to the Monitor as he talked about their progress. "We try. Sometimes we may falter but we're quick to remedy and do the right thing. Thank you for the kind words."
Monitor looked back a moment to check on the process he had underway before looking back to Val.
"Why yes we do indeed have a single member of the Unity that remained behind once it was determined the Unity's position here was no longer tenable." he nodded to her once more. "She is indeed in stasis..and dreaming peacefully."
"It is her consciousness that is currently processing the data stream I am impart onto you." Monitor said and then added with a note of sadness in his voice.
"I do know for a fact Aynila was looking forward to meeting the currently caretaker of the surviving 'Pixies'. She was impressed by your compassion and kindness to our littlest ones."
"It is she who oversees and protects the Cisterna with the Director, Madame and I"
Val excitement grew as Monitor explained that yes, a member of the UNITY was here. Finally, actual confirmation that one of the missing members of that race is still active. Preserved and even aware of what is going on. "How? How is she able to run this system. Sure, I know the Pixies are helping and of course you. Is there a greater network that she is tied too to help with the process? I would imagine that there would be more of the UNITY here to help her.
"My, experience, with large network tend to need more person connected to make it work properly." Even a small Borg installation tend to have more drones on hand then they even needed to run it; spare circuits in case one was used up and then discarded. "She was looking forward to meeting me. I would like to meet her if that is at all possible."

So Val lay in the biobed, her injured condition and the medically induced sleep keeping in an area between oblivion and the night terrors that tended to haunt her rest. The systems would ensure her mind would stay in a comfortable pattern for the moment, but when they released her, it would come back. The parts of her brain that were not affected continued to process information and catalog it. What she learned in the bunker had been designated as important and would be kept safe as long as her functions continued. The ability to upload the data to the Collective had been disrupted when the drone had been disconnected. So much had been collected but the Borg nanites could not save it in the off chance the Drone functions failed. A long time their perfect world had been disturbed, and the voice of the Collective had not been there to give them further instructions. Up to this point, the Borg Nanites followed the will of the Drone and their life was complete. Yet the Drone was keeping important information from the Collective, even allowed foreign nanites to invade her systems. The Borg Nanites ignored the intruders because the Drone willed it. The Borg Nanites looked upon the Pixies as simple and childish, unrefined and uncoordinated without the voice of the Collective to guide them to perfection.
The Borg Nanites knew the UNITY was gone and the Pixies were alone. The Borg reason they should turn themselves over to a new mission, but the Drone forbid it. The Drone, for emotional reasons, considered the Pixies and their makers to be a superior being. The Drone held emotional desires to be more like them. This information was confusing to the Borg. The Drone had been perfect. An instrument to lead the Collective to a new level of perfection; then she was disconnected.
The Borg Nanites adapted and came to a conclusion; the Drone was wrong. They could not act, the Drones will was too powerful; at the moment. They would deliberate.
Val shifted in her sleep, hearing Elusive voice but found herself unable to wake up for her. Her face frown lightly and she struggled through the healing process.

Val marveled at Monitor design as he explained, "A user interface that's also your host; I like it. In the galaxy where I come from, we've been slowly working towards the same thing. In this case, like Elusive, holographic constructs." When Monitor asks if they like napkins, "oh yes, please. Elusive becomes rather less graceful when she has cupcakes." She gives her companion a playful smirk. She sips the hot chocolate and savors the flavor of the warm fluid. "This is good. Did the Director provide you the recipe? Then again, do they have a hot chocolate recipe in this galaxy already? Would make sense if they did, provided they had similar ingredients." Val pauses as she notices she's rambling. "Sorry, distracted.
Moving to a topic, the important one. "Sooo, you mentioned there was memeber of the Unity here. Are they in stasis?"

Val wa about to decline, but Elusive beat her to the punch. Thinking about it foe a moment, she said, "hot chocolate to. It's really cold out there."
Something warm would hopefully calm hed fidgeting. Then a curious thought cane and Val asked, "forgive me if too forward, but are one of the Unity, monitor?"

So Val had ushered off from thr others while they tapked with Alan Walker. The man who pretty much started Salvation. Perhaps the final outcome had been out of his hands, she had to wonder if it had been worth it. She could think of other negative examples to reinforce her thoughts; like the Borg. For now this was not her problem.
The sitting room was nice, comfortable. She wonder why she was brought here. Hopefully, to learn more about Unity. That one obsessed goal to learn more about that race. So, while they wait, she played with Elusives scarf.

After making sure that Elusive was properly dressed for the snowy weather, Val went to work with Ynera and the rest of the team. She wishes desperately that the snowstorm would abate so they could enter the bunker. Learning that a member of the UNITY race was inside piqued her curiosity and made her anxious to go inside. She checks with the Monitor to see if the portal system in the bunker could be a viable option to leave the shuttles and go inside. After all, weathering out bad weather in a bunker could be better than inside the shuttles. On the other hand, they were safe for the time being with the shuttles. Once she got word from the Monitor she will bring it up to everyone. For the moment she continues adjusting the sensors to combat the effects of the Ion snowstorm. They already had a very close call with Diamonds operatives and she held no doubts that it was not over just yet. After all, they came all this way looking for the Doctor that help with Operation Salvation in the first place. It was kinda of scary to think that that man was here lurking in some form or another. It would be interesting to see what they could learn about his latest misadventures once they got inside.
"Ugh, hurry up snowstorm. There are things that need to be done inside!"
