I feel the same way as Ethan does... i only got achance to know you briefly, Mathias. Though, i enjoyed everyone of your Forum Stories and RP posts in the forums. You are a great RPer and story writer, you will be missed. I do hope to still have a chance to play with you ingame in the near future. I feel Nyoko is already the Fleet Admiral, if in actions only. she is always involved in all facets of this fleet and takes charge whenever neccessary. She did found this fleet after all. Though i doubt she'll want to have her Character promoted to Admiral soo soon. I think she enjoys playing the lower ranking officers. I deffenitly feel there needs to be an Admiral ingame... whether that be an NPC or current fleet member. That choice is Nyoko's and Nyoko's alone.

::::WIP:::: The mok'bara is a Klingon form of martial arts. The technique is similar to meditation, as the forms are said to clear the mind. The mok'bara is the basis of Klingon hand-to-hand combat techniques, and may be practiced alone, or in groups. The mok'bara involves weapons such as the bat'leth, mek'leth, d'k tahg, and lahj. Some of the techniques and forms involved in the mok'bara are similar to the Human martial art of Tai chi chuan. What Ethan says is true... I know you had RSVPed the Covert Ops mission last night and was disapointed that Nyoko was a no-show, but i did invite you to join in on the Klingon Combat Class shortly after. You said you didnt want participate but would watch. You never showed as far as i know. yes he did. he was there once while you explained your intentions with the training. Sorry... i didnt see him.

I would love to have you join in on any RPing I do... Im always on trying to get more members to participate.. I send emails, PMs, Chat Invites, and post events... My problem is that i dont get ENOUGH people to join in in-game.
Part of the blame i think is in your perception of how the fleet is supposed to be... I guess we didnt meet up to your expectations. That in itself is OK. If you feel this fleet isnt a good fit for you, try and find one that is. We're all here to have fun..

I appreciate the sentiment Brian, I hope that is not too informal. There are plenty of ways to help people, and in fact, that is why we are all here together..to help each other I just think new people try to fit in and be part of the group..and special visuals can be helpful for many things, it can also make someone newer feel uncomfortable and can heighten the feeling of alienation. looking at it that way.. i have to agree.

-sigh- i really thought people would like the idea. its too bad... I have a hell of a hard time distinguishing new members from regular ones. only trying to make helping people easier

I would encourge the use of a 'recruit' style uniform if the player in question is suppose to be a cadet, otherwise no. Characters that joining the fleet, even in their probationary period, are still suppose to be commissioned Star Fleet officers with years of experience already under their belts. From a RP point of view it would not make a whole lot of sense. well, this wasnt supposed to be a Fleet "Cadet" uniform.. just a new member uniform.

sorry everyone feels that way about it...
Im a big fan of role playing authentically, and since we dont have cadets ingame, new members that are new and under experienced fit that discription close enough in my opinion.
I dont know everyone in the fleet, i dont know whos new, been here for awhile, or those that need help learning the ropes about the game and RPing in general. I think having a uniform for the new members lets everyone know that they are new and to try their best to help them and get to know them.
Im not trying to dicriminate against anyone, or try to single people out for hazing and ridicule. I just want to know who needs help and who i need to show extra attention to.

The only difference in our uniforms at boot camp was a ball cap that said "RECRUIT" across it in lieu of "NAVY". Our uniforms were the same otherwise. I don't really see any point of highlighting the new kids here just because we can, either. well, in Starfleet, there was always a difference in uniforms for cadets and regular officers.

I've been thinking, ever since i joined the fleet, that new members should have a different uniform from regular members. That way we can easily distinguish between the two durring Fleet meetings and events. Maybe even, have a uniform for Command Officers (current fleet uniform) and a different one for Junior Officers. just an idea. Anyway, my proposal is for a separate uniform for new recruits that are in their probationary period. This would be an Official Fleet Daedalus Omega Recruit Uniform. I used the 2370's Starfleet Academy Cadet Uniform and the current Fleet Uniform as a base. I wanted to add cargo pockets, but the colors wouldnt match the shirt, so it's really just a simple color change to the current fleet uniform. Let me know what you think.
