Well then it becomes like a microscopic robot war... we'll make sure our nanites are meaner. lol I think that can be arranged added new tech to the list. thanks Admiral.

Well, maybe I can help with that...I imagined a prototype ablative armor that could be regenerated through nanotech...that I've imagined as being used on his Zepar right now... The Zepar also has a salvaging beam that "recycles" destroyed ships for use in repairs...this takes a longer time...but can allow you to avoid a drydock armor repair if the regeneration is too far gone due to degredation of the efficiency from constant repair. Nanites can regenerate armor for a very long time through the reuse of the material over and over...eventually the efficiency will go though...it would be something similar to how the borg regenerated their hull in TNG. I was just gonna call it... Nano-regenerative Ablative Armor... I imagine for armor to regenerate it would have to use some type of nanotech anyway...realistically...considering Ablative armor is meant to distentegrate upon impact in small increments to prevent damage to other areas... Mathias would be willing to help you with that if you wanted to go that route. Yea, I was thinking the same thing, but the thought of having the borg somehow finding a way to "reprogram" the nanites stopped me from going any further. However, if it's good enough for the Zepar, it's good enough for the Independence. I'll count you in Admiral. ;D

Also this concept has left out a vital detail as to what material will be used, if the same then surely it would make sense to meld both layers together to make one with the strength of two? And also if they are of different materials, please explain the benifit that each one provides? I.e one could be for torpedo's, and the other for plasma resistance Updated the Armor description and added Micro-Fiber Regenerative Ablative Armor to the list. Though, i really didnt want to use that version of it. I had envisioned something using simular tech to explain the ship's real in-game ablity to rapidly regenerate it's hull. Maybe someone can help expand on that idea. then i can get rid of the Voyager Version.

Here is a list of people that are already on the project. I'm hoping to get more numbers added, but if not, it wont be a problem. Remember, You dont have to be an engineer to help out. Tactical Officers can help with Defensive/Offensive system upgrades or testing, Science Officers can help come up with improved sensors or science equipment, Medical Officers can improve the Sickbay sytems or equipment. So the skies the limit here. I'm really hoping to get the majority of the fleet in on this.

Red Matter Capacitor - The Red Matter Capacitor is a rare item which makes use of red matter in order to generate large amounts of energy for a short period that charges up and delivers extra power to all of ship’s systems for a short time. Due to the unstable nature of red matter the capacitor requires long periods to cool once used making it best used for emergency situations only. Well... looks like the Red Matter is considered Illegal by The Federation. So looks like im going to have to change that. OK changed to Zero Point Battery.

lol sounds fun. Since I promised to help you repair the old independant, I might as well help you build the new one. Should be able to post up on wednesday, once I've handed in a uni portfolio. Btw, those holographic weapon emplacements, did Vree get those form that Enterprise episode with the romulan drone ships? lol I thought i made em up. oh well. I guess i hadnt seen that episode Thanks Ken. I know we'll all have fun doing this together. I want to get everyone together that will be working on this before we start building. I want to make sure everyone is on the same page first.

Hi everyone,
During the sunday on June 6th, my ship (the Independence) was decommissioned. I have been autherized to construct a new Star Cruiser that will be a Variant of the Nomad-Class. I have been planning this for about a month and the plan is for this project to include the whole fleet or a majority of it at least. ICly it can be your ship's crew, not just the Captain.
Remember, You dont have to be an engineer to help out. Tactical Officers can help with Defensive/Offensive system upgrades or testing. Add upgraded Anti-Infiltration systems, or improved Infintry Drop Pods.
Science Officers can help come up with improved sensors or scientific equipment. Improved Astrometrics.
Medical Officers can improve the Sickbay sytems or equipment. Maybe upgrade the Current model EMH, add new medical tools, expand Sickbay to treat larger amounts of patients.
So the skies the limit here. I'm really hoping to get the majority of the fleet in on this.
Eventhough the fleet may have other vessels that fill this role, I envision the new Independence as a Test-Bed for new tech and systems designed by the fleet and Starfleet as a whole. She will not be an NX ship, though.
Currently planned systems include, but not limited to:
Experimental Quantum Slipstream Drive - The slipstream is a narrowly-focused, directed warp field that is initiated by manipulating the fabric of the space-time continuum at the quantum level. It works by focusing a quantum field through a deflector dish to generate massive changes in local space curvature; this creates a subspace tunnel, which is projected in front of the vessel. Once a ship has entered this tunnel, the forces inside propel it at incredible speed. In order to maintain the slipstream a ship has to constantly modify the quantum field with its deflector dish; however, the calculations involved were too complicated for 24th century Starfleet technology, and the time available was too short before the vessel out-paces the tunnel, collapsing the slipstream. Current configurations of the drive have a Chroniton Integrator, which can be used to take sensor readings several seconds into the future when the Slipstream Drive is active. *Currently only to be used in extreme situations or with Starfleet Command authorization.*
Variable-Geometry Shields - Special independent shield system designed to modify the ships Warp Profile during High Warp and Slipstream travel. The goal of these shields is to improve engine efficiency by optimizing field stress when the ship travels extended journeys at over Warp 8 velocity.
Transphasic Torpedo Launchers - Torpedoes based on generating a destructive subspace compression pulse. Upon detonation the torpedo delivers the pulse in an asymmetric superposition of multiple phase states. Shields can only block one subcomponent of the pulse. The other subcomponents deliver the majority of the pulse to the target. Every torpedo has a different transphasic configuration, generated randomly by a dissonant feedback effect to prevent the Borg from predicting the configuration of the phase states.
Zero Point Battery - A normal Zero Point Module, often abbreviated ZPM, is an incredibly long-lived power source of great magnitude capable of powering entire cities and intergalactic spacecraft for thousands of years, making it the cleanest and most potent energy source in the known galaxy. Current physics suggests that no power source with greater unit yield is theoretically possible. ((Omega is still Classified. Noone outside of Starfleet Command Knows of it.))
Created by the Kin of The Mind thousands of years ago, ZPMs are capable of generating massive amounts of energy, which is drawn from a pocket of subspace-time known as the quantum foam (subatomic wormholes constantly opening and closing and fading in and out of subspace). As a ZPM supplies power to a system, the pocket slowly destabilizes itself until it collapses entirely, having been stripped of all its inherent energy; how quickly this process occurs appears to be directly proportionate to the amount of power being supplied. Once the pocket collapses the ZPM is no longer able to supply power and becomes, for all intents and purposes, useless.
ZPMs have a potential life of many millions of years, and the amount of power generated by one of them is sufficient enough to power an entire planet for thousands of years. Even just one ZPM can easily power a shield to survive the most powerful energy weapons in existence for several hours.
Like many types of Kin of The Mind technology, Zero Point Modules are crystal-based. The crystals that compose the shell of the ZPM are: Red Crystals - Contain the necessary programs to allow ZPMs to provide power to Kin of The Mind technology when a ZPM is interfaced with a conduit. Yellow Crystals - Act as a buffer to prevent catastrophic overload. The crystals of a ZPM can remain functional for hundreds of thousands of years.
ZPMs can be covered in an explosive compound which, when the ZPM is activated and drawing power from its subspace pocket, will cause the entirety of the ZPM's potential energy to be exerted in an explosion which can destroy a solar system if the ZPM is "full". Although this would seem to make it a powerful "trojan horse" style weapon, the particular compound is easily detectable, even with relatively primitive scanning techniques such as ultraviolet light.
In exchange for help recovering from their losses during the Dominion war and in light of the new threats to the galaxy as a whole, the Kin of The Mind have allowed Starfleet limited access to this technology. Starfleet has been given a single prototype Zero Point Battery. This battery has only the potential power output equivalent to 1/1000 of a normal ZPM. Power buffer systems, safety lockouts, and current limitations in Starfleet EPS grids limit the battery to generate a single large burst of energy for a short period. This burst charges up and delivers extra power to all of the ship’s systems for a short time. Due to the unstable nature of it's power conversion system, it requires long periods to cool down once used, making it best used for emergency situations only.
Primary and Secondary Hull Armor Layers - Incorporating two defferent layers of Hull Armor, one on top of the other. This hull configuration greatly increases the damage threshold a ship can withstand. Duranium-tritanium composite with Nano-Regenerative Ablative Armor and Tetraburnium Hull Plating underneath.
Nano-Regenerative Ablative Armor - *Under Development*
Zepar Salvaging Beam - Tractor beam variant , derived from Borg technology, that "recycles" destroyed ships for use in repairs...this takes a longer time...but can allow you to avoid a drydock armor repair if the regeneration is too far gone due to degredation of the efficiency from constant repair. Originally tested and used on the U.S.S. Zepar.
Dual Prototype Holographic (Photonic) Weapons Emplacements - Untested prototype weapons platform. Each one uses multiple redundant holo-emitters with four independent fusion power cores. Able to mimic several different energy weapon types. Each emplacement is able to replicate a holographic imitation of only one weapon at a time. Current prototype limitation is that it cannot quickly switch between weapons types in the heat of battle due to extreme risk of overloading the Holographic Matix and Fusion Cores.
The plan is for everyone to pitch in, writing short stories and post in the construction thread. At the end, we will have a RP event Celebration on-board for the launching. All members involved will get there names ingraved in the Dedication Plaque. There may also be IC rewards if participation is high enough. I'll have to talk to Command about that.
Anyone interested, please post here on this thread. We can then get an idea of who will be participating and plan from there.
Thank you all.

The other day i remember Nyoko saying... that for some reason, her IG avitar just "looks ugly" with different hair. So she keeps her hair to the same style all the time. Well, im bored. lol. so I decided that if your going on vacation for 2 days IRL, why cant Nyoko? ... then she gets drunk, sees a Dr., and get some work done. lol so heres the end result... a nose job, chin, cheek, jaw line alterations... and NEW HAIR! I tried to use your forum pic for reference but its only that one angle, then i tried to make it look good with the different hairstyles. lol this is just something i did to pass the time. it doesnt mean I dont like your current avitar, ny ny. im kinda partial to the Ponytail one
