Fun fact of the day... The D'deridex, first seen in 2364, is still larger than the Odyssey (and Bortas'qu), both launched in 2409. Size comparisons: D'deridex: Length: 1353.31 meters Beam: 950.3 meters Height: 351.21 meters Odyssey: Length: 1061.71 meters Beam: 371.29 meters Height: 147.57 meters but those figures for the Odyssey are just speculation... unless cryptic releases the official figures, or we wait and compare the two models.

Do you want me to formulate it as his service jacket up to this point with any awards etc Part of the character i want to play is someone rather reserved (think barclayesque) it would actually make more sense for him to be put in for transfer by a superior. I could rework his back story but the cocky new graduate is kinda cliche. i like that creativity... thats what im really looking for. Havinf his superior make the request is differnt and makes the request unique and standout. i like it. i say go with that and include any information you want to or feel is approprate to the setting and situation. Be creative, thats all i want really.

No that actually sounds awesome and more "realistic". I think filling another junior engineering position would be fun. and logistically it would put two people in your engineering room to solve problems. Great! Next step, draw up your character's transfer request and post it in a new thread. I'm looking for alittle bit more info on your character and his/her background and concept then just the normal one or two sentences we get nowadays. Think ICly... this Engineer is requesting to transfer onto the Flagship of a Numbered Fleet and needs to impress the CO, XO, and Acting Chief Engineer in order to let him/her serve aboard the ship... above hundreds of other applicants asking for the same job. this is purely for OOC reasons and it helps set the tone for your commitment and dedication to the RP. It will be looked at and judged ICly accordingly, but no matter what you write, you'll be allowed on the ship as a junior engineer.

Conn is filled currently by an NPC and i think its better that way for the ship at this time.
I have to mention this aswell so that you have all the info so you can make a fully informed choice... The Endeavour uses Foundry designed sets extensively, including the Bridge. This means that we have a set limit on the number of players who can be on the Bridge at any one time. Due to this, we have to prioritize player filled Bridge positions and NPC filled bridge positions. As our numbers rise, more an more players will be assigned to other areas of the ship to focus their RP actions... like Chief Engineer and his/her engineers in Main Engineering, Chief Medical Officer and his/her nurses in Sickbay, Scientists in the Science Lab or Astrometrics, ect...
Right now the Endeavour has 6 Player Character (including the GM controlled character), CO - Donaldson, XO/Sci - T'Pang, Ops - Sonak (DGM Kossuth), CMO - Bell, Tac/Sec Murray, and Eng - Dala'an. the only ones that are essential to the Bridge are the CO, XO, Ops, and Tac. The rest are able to rp their jobs elsewhere.
Now, if that still didnt scare you away, then we can talk about the next step.

For open Senior Officer positions, U.S.S. Endeavour is currently only accepting experienced characters (Minimum of 2 IC years as a Senior Officer in their field of choice or 4 IC years as a junior officer in their field of choice, and a minimum Rank of Full Lieutenant with the recommendation of the character's last CO or supervisor), as well as experienced and reliable players in good standing with the fleet with the overall approval of myself.
As the 22nd Mobile's Flagship, the requirements for Senior Positions are a little higher then normal, but don't let that discourage you from the ship. You may still apply for any Junior Officer position and earn the right to become a member of the ship's senior staff through RP and experience.
We currently have two new junior officers on the ship, one in the Tactical/Security field and one in the Engineering field. If you join the Endeavour as either a Tac/Sec Officer or a Eng Officer, you'd be competing with them for the open Senior Officer Positions.
All new members, unless they meet the requirements stated in the first paragraph above, automatically join the crew as Junior Officers and work towards earning any open senior or supervisory positions aboard the ship. This way, players have something to strive for, performance increases, and the ship eventually gains an experienced and dedicated player in a supervisory position. its not something explicitly written down or stated anywhere, but it's more of a unspoken standard that I enforce to improve the reliability and quality of the gaming aboard my ship.
If this challenge appeals to you, you are more then welcome aboard the Endeavour.

Well, I thought it was silly sending the fleet's CO on an away mission, much less to the past. But nobody asked me, and apparently I don't even exist at the moment anyway because T'pang broke it. Like many of the plots of so many Star Trek stories (especially time travel stories) there are some holes in it. But we convieniently ignore them in the interest of the story. In our case seeing as we have a severe deficiency of PC senior officers on board and because of the nature of the storyline, if Brian doesn't lead the away team then he would literally have no part in the story at all and may as well not even show up. ICly if he doesn't then we are sending the brand new junior officers into the past to save the universe on thier own. In these sorts of situations you have to ask WWJKD (What Would James Kirk Do) The justification is mainly that the mission is of sufficient importance to warrant risking the fleet CO, since failure to accomplish the mission means there is no fleet for him to be CO of anyway. The justification for not sending T'Pang is that she is already there and meeting her future self could have unknown consequences on the time line. There are OOC reasons as well for all of this but they are just that OOC. Agreeably there are some difficulties with all of this but hey we work with the resources we have. That is a lucid, articulate, well thought out explaination... works for me. ;D I feel better about it now.

Just an FYI, unlocking the Tier 3 starbase doesn't actually unlock the Tailor. It unlocks the Project to unlock the tailor, which has the following requirements: Damn. well, i have a few connections. If any members with the resources already inhand wants one, i can arrange a visit to a Starbase that does offer it...until we get access ourselves.

Soon our Starbase will be upgraded to Tier 3 and with it,we will unlock the Tailor. One of the bonuses of this Tailor is that Fleet Members can go to the Tailor and buy a new Uniform, the Odyssey Fleet Uniform, via ingame currency. The cost of of buying this uniform is 16k Dilithium and 8k Fleet credits per character. You have to buy one for every character you wish to wear it. Meranda and I were lucky enough to gain acces to another Fleet's Starbase and buy one of these for ourselves and i can tell you, we were very impressed. It appears to be influinced by the Starfleet Academy Uniform. Once our Starbase gets the Tailor, I will be making the Odyssey Fleet Uniform the Endeavour's Main duty Uniform...instructions for colors and setup can be found here: daedalusomega.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=ussjeanne&thread=1792&page=1#5990My hope is that in the future, the entire Fleet could adopt this uniform and we all could finally be Uniform in our uniforms (lol no pun intended), but thats up to Nyoko and the other starship Commanders.

Who thinks the Romulans were just pretending to be weak? Sun Tzu said: "All warfare is deception. Hence , when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near. Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him.” -The Art of War.
