Thank you for your interest and application. It is currently being reviewed and you may be contacted with further questions and an in game interview.
Which days of the week and time during the day do you play mostly?
When you say Operations, are you Tactical, Engineering or Science in game?
Joined Trill maybe something the fleet admins may ask you about or ask you to change, would you be willing to accommodate changing your character background and make up if requested?
Again, thank you for your interest in the 22nd, ~cyg

agreed, but if the players never create characters with the personal "hooks" and personality, there is not much a GM can do

Our attributes look low in comparison or Kirks way too high..we are using base 40 for all attributes and 40 points to distribute.
I just noticed what Brian pointed out...all I have to say is whoa. While in one side it is cool..on the other people might think we are way under skilled and powered.

That is considerate You can also simply use the Fleet Event interface in game and decline or select "maybe" being able to attend the event at that date and leave a comment. I typically post the event a week in advance. For extended absences, posting and letting your Captain and GM know is required.

Okinami Award ceremony. **Fleet Dress Whites required**
Location: Starbase 39
Time: Friday August 12th, 11:55 pm EST; estimated 60 minutes and mission will follow.
Any in charatcer fleet admiral may attend, currently Meranda will be the one presenting the awards. Other attending admirals may have time for a brief speech after the presentations are done. ((**note, if Meranda is unavailable, then another IC admiral can step up using the information in this post, or worst case the GM will do it as an admiral**))
The crew will line up and Meranda and Captain Honda will stand together, opposite of the crew line and facing them.
The format will be Meranda and Captain Honda will for each crew member in turn, walk to the appropriate crew member and read the awards and any comments with each reward (as the players improvise) and Meranda will give the awards to Captain Honda to present to her crew member.
Once all crew members are done, Meranda and Honda will go front and center of the crew line and turn to face each other. Meranda with then read Captain Honda's awards and present them.
Meranda and any attending admiral will face the Okinami crew and salute them for their service. Then Meranada will then give whatever closing speech she has prepared and any other attending admiral will be give time in turn for a speech.
Once concluded Meranda will received and communication from Command and orders for the Okinami's next mission.
Awards and order

While the attention people are giving to our new potential member is appreciated, please refrain providing feedback and advise on character roles available on each ship and leave that to those ship Captains and GMs to avoid confusion.
Thank you, ~cyg

You do not need to rework your charatcer presently. If you like your original concept them please keep it here and develop it further. My comment was mentioned to be informative, not to cause confusion. Comments form those in Game Master group like myself are from the Fleet Administration and represent official fleet business, and I do not think any of them requested you change your character To clarify Liam's statement. In the Star Trek Online Game..you can be one class, and for our roleplaying sessions pretent you are another. Example. STO Tactical...Roleplaying Engineering. However, some GMs use the Foundry alot, and may design content in the Foundry that assumes the STO charatcer and the Roleplayed character share the same "class".

If you would like to stay within your comfort zone, that is perfectly fine. I just did not want you feeling left out or standing around due to a deluge of tactical officers and only so much interaction to go around The ships you are available for is a more pressing question since the answer can help us find the best match for you and the fleet.

Thank you for your application and interest. It is being reviewed now, people may ask you additional questions and for an in game interview.
The specific ship you mention is named the USS Okinami now. I am the game master for her. I did want to ask if there were other ships suitable to your schedule as well?
USS Valiant at 5 pm Sunday. USS Independence at 8 :30 pm Monday USS Columbia I know is early Friday..not 100% maybe 3:00 pm USS Adagio at 9:15 pm and Saturday
USS Okinami event is at 11:55 pm on Friday night and typically lasts 3-5 hours.
I also want to mention the fleet as a whole (and especially on the Okinmai) has a large number of tactical officers..all in security and tactical, MACO and even operation roles. I wish you to play the charatcer you desire, but would like you to consider Science and Engineering as a fun and challenging options to explore.

Not all missions are combat. Problem about NCO's are they stand around a lot, when we are seeking out new life, and new civilization. Which is why i mentioned training. While you are doing that we easily could be running combat training in the holodeck it would be realistic. Sentry duty is one thing, but its only part of it. I guess i was under the assumption that you used a system more closely related to dnd. So the gm provides interaction on a constant level, running numbers for checks, giving npcs dialogue allowing the players to overcome the problems as a team based on using their characters strengths. Let me get with you guys at some point and i'll relay my ideas. It is and it is not. We do have skill checks and rolling and feedback, but we do not have the luxury of verbal communication in speed and multitasking. We can have 6-10 players on board for a mission. So it takes time to give personal attention and feedback to all individually. We are also restricted to reading speed and typing and chat and of course numerous people all needing attention at the same time. So while multiple people are be doing various things, it can vary how quickly a GM can give you feedback and attention, and it can take a little while (or we actually forget!!! ) The GM cannot (and most players do not) put in character channels on ignore, so a lot of banter not related to the mission on hand can be distracting since it has to be read and determined what if any feedback is required. If things are getting too hectic I will polity ask the banter be put on hold for a bit. Ultimately I am concerned with giving your characters ways to interact in almost any story and with the entire crew, not isolated and reduced to making you own mini game in the holodeck to occupy yourselves
